This is a beautiful example of a full size violin made in Markneukirchen Germany. I have had a few of these and this is the finest example I have owned. There are no cracks in the violin. Please see pictures. The back of the violin is not stamped. The back of the black chin rest states western Germany. If you are familiar with mid-range violins you should know what you're looking at. I have owned this violin for some time. The person I bought this from was the wife of a music professor of San Diego State university this violin was his pride and joy in his collection. His wife sold me the violin to help with bills and now I am selling it to help with down payment for a house. As stated. This violin looks better, in person. Ceylonese Sinhalese aristocrat sword, Kastane, with a sturdy single edged curved steel blade with short central fuller, the forte inlaid with brass panels, engraved with foliated scrolls. The hilt is of characteristic form with a silver inlaid grip rising to a finely carved Makara, Mythical sea dragon, head pommel. Superb quality steel guard with finials elaborately carved in relief with Garuda eagle heads and the mythical dragon heads. Applied with silver and brass panels, engraved with scrollwork. CONDITION: Overall good condition. And a good old representative example; some losses to the silver overlays, the Makara head damaged, blade pitted. Fab German States Silver Beaker, 17th Century probably Nuremburg
We are pleased to offer a fabulous German states beaker. Dating from the last half of the 17th century. The only marking is KB to the base. We speculate that it originated in Nuremburg. It portrays three cameos of persons. Two are men in cavalier style dress. There is. As well, a woman with long hair. E xtraordinary condition. Museum quality piece. This is magnificent piece in really great condition considering it is over 300 years of age. Stands 3 1/8 inches tall(approx 8 cm) Top is 3 inches across(7.5 cm) Base is 2 inches across(5cm) Weight 107.9 gms. Canadian purchasers only must remit the 5% GST and if resident in Ontario the HST.

RARE 17th or early 18th CENTURY SPOT SAMPLER ENGLISH / DUTCH
Needlework spot samplers are traditionally thought off as being worked by women undertaking dress embroidery were they would try patterns and designed out on a piece of linen before working them onto a dress or tunic or used on a domestic furnishings. They were often worked over a long period of time and are seldom named or dated. Certainly very early examples are known from the early 17th century some possibly 16th Century English examples. In England the tradition was popular to the third quarter of the 17th Century although the style continued on the Continent in Holland into the very early years of the 18th Century, c.1720. Many of the spots on this example can be found on English samplers but my gut feeling is this is Dutch. probably circa 1690/1700. Size 12 1/2 x 9 1/4 inches; 32 x 23.5 cm. A 17th. century “Westerwald” salt glazed stoneware wine jug around 1690
From an old Dutch stoneware collection I’m offering a German beer jug. The jug was made in Westerwald in Germany at the end of the 17 th. century. The jug is decorated with leaves in manganese in a decorated grey square against a cobalt blue background. On top of the jug there is a pewter lid. Which dates according to my opinion, from a later date The condition of the jug is almost perfect, there are two very small hairlines in the handle and there is a crack in the foot(see pictures) furthermore there are no chips or restorations. MAIOLICA POLYCHROME CHARGER. Description: This amazing historically interesting polychrome charger that was found dirty and broken. From an old estate not far from Mechelen, Belgium. I guess this charger to be of local origin and to date back to the middle of 17th century. On its plat there is a very unusual and rare painting design of a maiden with a vegetable basket(very much in the Italian maiolica style) resting under a tree, in a wonderful color palette. The border decoration has a provincial design with suggested wreath leaves and elevated nobs'noppen' as berries in stone red. There are three kiln'proenen' on the plat as commonly found on plates for this period resulting from the stacking of plates during the firing process. I believe this piece of early antique lace with cool to the touch linen threads is Punto Tirato. Early Drawn Work Laces of this type are extremely rare. Are generally held in museums and private collections. This lace would date to the 17th century and earlier. And is an example of one of the earliest forms of lace making. It came out of Maine. Satisfaction and authenticity guaranteed. I've had the good fortune of handling and selling a few pieces from this era in the past couple years. It measures 3-1/2 inches wide x 20 inches long.
