With three shaped legs with mounts depicting birds clenching swags of chain, stretcher with turned finial and additional mounts and swag chains, and are distinguished for their extraordinary hand-painted wooden lids that depict song birds in nature, surrounded by a ribbon of inlaid marquetry with mother of pearl, with pair of brass handles. PAIR ANTIQUE 1940 DECO FRENCH MAHOGANY SHABBY NIGHTSTANDS TABLES DUNCAN PHYFE
We are pleased to offer this exceptional pair of antique nightstands or side tables. This pair dates to around 1940. They are made of mahogany and have been painted white and distressed. The pair are elegant and sleek with a low profile. They feature a two tier design with open backs. They are French styled. Art Deco era, and have elongated lower sections with curved fronts. There have decorative square, raised wood pieces on the skirt of the lower tier. These have been left in the original finish to contrast with the paint. The legs are lovely in Duncan Phyfe style. The center leg column has also been left in the original finish. The table has ornate brass touches as well. There are lion face"door knocker" style pulls on each side between the two tiers. The feet are brass with a claw foot design. The tables are very nice. They ... moreare very sturdy. There are no manufacturer's marks. The pair measure 25.75" tall and 16" wide. The top tier sections are 12" deep(front to back) and the lower tiers are 26" front to back. The legs are 23.25" front to back and 14" wide. Mother Lode of Lane Tables, 1950s Blonde
Take all of them or take none of them. They just need to get out of my garage. This no-reserve auction offers a collection of 11(eleven) Lane tables from the 1950s. There are four models represented in this collection(701. 702, 705, 727) but they’re all the same“700 series” style, manufactured by Lane, Altavista, VA. They all feature a blonde mahogany checker board type of geometric pattern on the flat surfaces. As well as brass legs and brass accents. I fell in love with this style when I found a set at an estate sale many years ago. Then I started collecting them. It took me many years to find all of these tables. Blonde was the rarest color that Lane manufactured during this era. I had these tables all over our house before we eventually converted everything to Heywood Wakefield. The condition of the tables varies greatly. Some have different ... moreshades of blonde because the finish aged differently in different homes over the past 60 years. Some are in perfect condition. Some are not…some have cut glass, some do not…some have perfect legs, some have tarnished legs or are missing the nub feet. Description.
