The secretary has an amazing custom cut beveled mirror with a 1-inch bevel, that is on the top at the right side and lovely carved details and applied accents all throughout. The backing on the mirror is a bit loose, but this should be an easy fix. The piece is lockable, however, there is no key with it. It also has the original metal hardware, which is absolutely incredible and ornate as well. There is a lot of light staining and wear as well as scratches and dings to the finish.

This Spectacular Early American Solid Plank Pine Armoire/Wardrobe is Circa 1785-1800 Of course this piece was all hand made. No doubt by an early American craftsman. It features thick solid pine plank construction.The armoire has tons of character marks and great patina, I restored the finish with a hand rubbed varnish to protect the wood and bring out the gorgeous graining and character marks. The early hand wrought iron nails are exposed.At the door frame front corner faces you can see the two hand made pegs at each corner. They secure the hand made mortise and tenon joinery of the door frames. The entire top has one solid plank of pine which is dovetailed with one large dovetail joint into the sides of the armoire.The blackened graining of the pine is natural and makes for beautiful highlights to the pine. The cornice detail which trims ... morethe cabinet top is superb. Another rare and excellent feature is the original hand made clothes hooks which swivel left& right. They are hand-pegged into their support piece. The whitewashed cabinet inside appears to be original. There are also a few tiny remnants of a linen/muslim cloth held by wrought nails inside the cabinet.It appears the cabinet was one lined with linen cloth. The iron lock is original, I had a period style key made,the key is solid brass which I painted to match the hardware.The lock and key work excellently. The hardware is reproduction period style iron hardware.This piece has many nicks. Dings and character marks in the wood, There is an exposed nail on the lower left front corner where a chip of wood has been missing for a long time, I like the fact you can see this nail, it adds tremendous character& history to this piece, I made no attempt to restore this area, I think it is unique! The doors have age related shrinkage gaps where the recessed panels meet the frame, this is to be expected with a such an old piece.The doors close well, I added magnetic catches to secure them. Second photo shows its size compared to a school chair and an adult chair. SIZE: SEAT is 12" high 11" wide Chair back top is 24" from the floor weighs 4 1/2 pounds CONDITION: see above. In the 3rd picture you can see on the right side a crack that goes down to the spindle. I took closeup with the last 4 photos-No. 8-12. It looks like the spindle has been reglued on the chair seat and to the bowed back frame. I still am not sure that the crack goes completely through to the spindle. You decide. The chair is very sturdy with no shaking side to side from the bottom leg supports and no shaking or movement from the chair back. Either. Back spindles are very tight. Interesting lot of old doorknob rosettes escutcheons for your consideration. I am not sure of what there original use was for because of there smaller size. I am guessing they were an early doorknob application from entry doors in homes. They might have been an early furniture backplate as well. Could be used either way I suppose depending on your need. No manufacturing marks. There is a very small amount of original copper Jappanning still evident on a couple of these which I think were there original finish. There are ten in this lot measuring an unusual smaller size at 1 1/2 inches across. Center holes are 3/8 of an inch. large enough for a standard 1/4 inch mortise driverod. These are in very nice condition. All the seating cleats are intact with no break or cracks. These would work nicely on cabinet or furniture resoration as well. This collection of vintage porcelain consists of a four piece matched set– couch. Two chairs and bureau/chest w/lid, a piano wo/lid and one male figurine w/cello and one female figurine. All of the pieces are in very good condition; however there is a slight chip on the bonnet of the female figurine; this figurine also appears to be older than the others in the set. Antique Architectural Salvage Furniture Parts Eastlake Pediment/Pine Backsplash
Welcome. Offered today is a lot of 2 antique architectural salvage furniture parts. The first is a pediment from the Victorian period with an Eastlake design. It is made of walnut but I am not 100% sure. It measures 33 1/2" long. It features a scalloped design with a large center detail. The scalloped area is 1 1/2" and the large center is 3 1/8" The piece is 7/8" wide and can sit on a door or window molding. This is in good condition with a lovely patina. The dowels that originally held it in place have broken off but could easily be drilled out if you needed to. The next piece is made of hand planed pine and came off a primitive wash stand or wash table. It was the backsplash. This too has a lovely patina. This measures 32" long and is 5 1/2" wide. It features a curved cut out design on each end. There are ... moretwo holes where it was attached. It is a thin piece. 1/2" but solid. The original color was a pumpkin and one side is more finished than the other which is more rustic. There is a long narrow but shallow slice off of one side.
