You will call me when you see this desk in person to say“John I can’t find it” after you look all over for the replacement parts and I will say“that is because this guy is phenomenal at what he does. The desk is very unusual with swing side ends, which means that they flip around with a latch that allows it to go to the back side so the“S” top(which normally is a pain for people with computers, will not be a problem with this desk) Someone had lost the original thumb latch locks, and has replaced with modern day locks, which work fine. The roll has been all re-canvassed and re-glued so it won’t rip apart as original rolls usually done. Antique Civil War Era Roll Top Desk with Hutch
Roll Top Desk Up for sale is an antique roll top desk. This belonged to my mother for more than 50 years. She got it from a family whose grandfather(a civil war officer) owned it during late 1800's. The left side bottom needs to be re-glued. The dowels are there but no longer stay together. It is only an issue when we have moved it and then only if we didn't keep it held together. It is very solid with no movement when it is in place. At one time(a LONG time ago) water was spilled on it and it has some staining. Mostly on the left. It could be refinished. But can be used and displayed as is with no real detraction from its looks. The pictures make the uneven finish stand out much more than in person. The top piece of wood(under the curio cabinet) is in moderate condition and has a crack along the top. The roll top works very nicely ... moreand it will lock the drawers if closed all the way. I do not have the key. So in order not to have crawl under the desk with a screwdriver. The top should not be pushed all the way down until it locks. It has 2 pull out writing surfaces. One is shown in the pictures. It has 2 little drawers by the pigeon holes that work. At one time my mom glued some paper to them and some of that is still stuck on. I have not tried to get it off. As long as my mom had it. It has had the curio cabinet screwed securely to the top. This is a beautiful piece that makes a very nice display area. It measures 45" tall to the top of the desk. 48" wide and 30" deep. The cabinet measures 40 1/2" wide x 35" tall x 10" deep. Normally I would never sell this but we are moving out of state and simply do not have the room in the truck or the new house for it. This is pick up only Thousand Oaks California. It was originally the top section of a full knee hole desk that had drawers on one lower side. It measures 27" long(wide) x 16" deep x 10-3/4" tall. It features a tambour sliding door with five interior sections. The open sections measure from 3-1/2" to 6-1/2" wide x 3" deep x 3-3/4" tall. It remains in very good condition showing normal wear including some light ink stains behind the tambour door. The door opens and closes properly and easily. Solid and constructed of oak, this is relatively easy to move as it comes apart with ease. Measuring approximately 32 inches deep, 49.5 inches wide, and 49.5 inches tall, there is a center drawer, 4 drawers on the left, and 3 drawers on the right. Though the pictures show 4 drawers on the right, the bottom is actually the depth of two drawers along with a center divider. Additionally, 2 of the drawers on the left feature pre-cut slots for ease in separation of your possessions. Previously used and very well loved, it is important to note that the center drawer has had the bottom replaced. This is shown in one of the pictures. A very nice antique. Circa 1920s- 1930s, solid and veneered mahogany lady's cylinder roll desk with bookcase and marble top. It is in the Louis XVI style. The roll has a oval marquetry inlay of flaming torch and arrows with florals. The petite bookcase has brass grill doors. The cubbyhole has two plain drawers, and a leather framed pull forward writing surface. At top is a pierced brass gallery framing a French polished buff marble slab. The tapered square legs have brass booties. The desk measures 3'10" 46" tall by 2'5-1/2" 29-1/2" wide by 15-1/2" deep. The distance from long drawer to floor is 23" tall. Very good condition: without chips or cracks to veneers, original finish to all. Marble without damage or stains. The long case drawer is missing the lock, no key. Unusual wooden Antique sewing box in the shape of a roll top secretary. Very nicely made with warm wood patina and hand edge decoration made to look like inlay. It measures about 6 3/4" tall. 5 1/4" wide and 3 5/8" deep. The top lifts and the doors open to reveal a velvet lined thread storage area. The writing surface slides out and the roll opens simultaneously. The inner area here is lined with blue silk. There is a brass decoration which looks like an animal with a woman's head. The bottom compartment does not seem to open although perhaps I just can't figure out how to open it. There is no key. Part of the velvet inside is missing. And the satin inside is worn. There are two tiny feet on the bottom which are missing. This would also make a nice secretary for an Antique dollhouse. Guaranteed as described. This is an Antique Oak"S" Roll Top Desk with raised panels that has been beautifully restored. This desk is from my Grandparents home as I can not ever remember not seeing it there and I am almost 50 years old. I do not have a maker on this desk but have to believe that it is from the early 1900's. I would love to display this in my home. But my home will not accommodate it. It is 54 inches long. 3 feet wide and 4 foot tall. It is Oak and it has 4 drawers on the left hand side and 3 drawers on the right hand side. There is a brass plate in which to lock the desk. But I do not have a key for it. The colors and details are beautiful. With it being so old. There are some imperfections as you can see. On the left hand pull out there are little holes in the wood. Not sure if they were put there by someone or if something happened ... moreto the wood. On the back there is a knick of wood missing as you can see in the picture. Two of the drawers bottoms have been replaced and two of the drawers have what looks like as stains, but it does not get on anything. Here is a wonderful little miniature light oak ROLL-TOP DESK that is either a salesman's sample or a child's desk. Exactly like a regular roll-top desk in every respect: the tambour door slides smoothly up to reveal a roomy interior with handy little cubbies. There is also a drawer which slides easily. I'm guessing it to date anywhere from 1900-30. Great condition; the finish does show some discoloration. Notably on the left side(see photos) I'm not sure if this aging, or the varnish ran. For sale I have a set of 4 brass and mahogany fronted drawers that apparently go to an antique roll top desk. Circa 1900. I'm not sure of their function but what I do know is that they are antique, probably mahagony? They have unusual tapered backs with heavy brass hardware(some brass is missing, see pix) The drawers are numbered 164. 165, 166, and 168 and measure just under 4 5/8" wide, by just under 3/4" tall by 9 3/4" long. These are very interesting drawers!

The inside compartments move around and are not attached. The roll top lid which is actually more like a lever than rolling. Sticks some times. There is wear to the wood, nicks etc. as can be expected with an antique piece. I believe the wood is maple but I am not sure. I was told that this is antique circa 1880's to 1890's writing desk or secreta riat and I bought it from a high end east coast estate. If anyone knows more please let us know-wood. Has oak slide outs on the top of each top side of top drawers. Has original finish. might need to be refinished or finish feeder to bring back the luster of the fabulous oak grain. Beautiful Antique Secretary Desk Honey Brown Roll Top Desk
Really beautiful desk that we got from an estate sale many years ago paid several hundred dollars for it at the time. It has remained unused and mostly for decorations for the last few years. The chair is a bit rickety and needs some screw tightening but we were able to use it without a problem when we needed to. The desk is in good shape everything needs a bit of oil in the joints but again we were able to use everything in the desk as is. The desk is structurally in perfect condition an absolute beauty and a gem. But*review the pictures for some slight marks from wear and tear* We aren't sure what year the desk was made but it is absolutely beautiful. This was something that we had hoped to use but we just didn't have a need for it. And again to be clear. Some of the drawers need some oil but some WD-40 would make them work just ... morefine. I wiped a light coat of Howard's furniture restorer on it and it looks fantastic. The tambor or roll top works well.
