The desk is the slant-front style, hinged at the bottom, so it opens up and the front lays flat to become the writing surface; the desk front can be locked. When the desk front is opened and lowered into the writing position, two arms come out automatically to support the writing surface. Inside the desk there are 3 small drawers, and holders for stashing letters and so forth. In the center of the opened desk, inside, there is a closed compartment with no lock; the compartment door is scratched. There are 3 drawers below the writing surface that extend almost the full width of the desk, and each one of them can be locked. These drawers have a graceful bow front(see photos) Above the desk itself is a prominent feature, a bookcase with 2 shelves covered by hinged glass doors that swing out and can be locked. Up for auction is a lot of 30+ primitive. Darling, little doll house pieces/furniture. Unfortunately, I truly know absolutely nothing about doll furniture, the closest I ever had to doll furniture when I was little, was a shoe box and some random rocks. LOL. Suppose, I'm biased thinking all these pieces are just precious. I am not positive on the age, however I know enough about antiques and vintage to recognize that at least some of these are some pretty old pieces. I ended up with this lot when I made a purchase from an estate sale. I thought about giving them to my little girls, but I'm confident their little brother would only bull doze them over the second they set them up. I figured, I'd better pass them along to someone who will appreciate and take care of them. What is assembled seems to be in good sturdy condition, with the exception of the twig chairs, they are a bit fragile due to age I'm sure, but will hold up fine if only on display. The man I bought this set from told me his Aunt had them in her china cabinet that is why the paint is so good. There is some wear but in excellent shape for their age. There are cotter pins holding them together. They were made like this. There is a super small tight crack on the couch. I took a picture of the crack. It is in the picture of the couch sideways. It is so small I do not think it showed up. It is only on the little fringe part of the couch. I was told this was made by the J& E Stevens toy company. Up for auction are 4 embossed brass Art Nouveau era antique architectural furniture remnant drawer pulls with screw backings recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia PA area. They are found in good used condition. The pulls are made of iron and do attract a magnet. The embossed brass does not. There is some minor rust on the steel. The brass has a few minor dents. One of the pieces is missing a ring pull. This is best seen in photo#3. The pulls measure approximately 5 3/4" x 2 1/2" The screw adds another 1" in length. When extended. The pulls come out approximately 1 3/4" They are a bit dirty and could benefit from a good polishing. A nice grouping if needed. I have a nice lot of antique glass door or drawer knobs for your consideration. There are a couple matching sets. The eight on the left in the first pic are in nice reusable condition with original sets screws. There is some brown stain that will need to be cleaned off of them. They are six sided. There is another set of three 10 sided with out the set screws that are in nice condition as well. And a couple odd knobs for a total of 13 in this lot. Nice lot for a renovation. This is a Barber's Cabinet from before the turn of the Century. Best guess is 1880's. It has been suggested that this one is from Germany- This one appears to be a Golden Oak and some other woods. Antique 1930's - 1940's handmade doll furniture (bedroom) and doll pajamas set.
You are bidding on a charming vintage bedroom set for 8" dolls which includes twin bed with mattress and cover. Pillow with matching pillowcase, dressing table with dressing table skirt, mirror on dressing table, chair, and 2 piece pajama set. Set has been in my family for several decades. I am unsure of the exact year that it was made(approximately 1930-1950) and the quality and craftsmanship is excellent. The bed spread has some small stains which may be removed by hand washing in cold water or dry cleaning. Dressing table is 7 inches long, 3 inches wide, and about 3 inches tall. Antique Escutcheon Keyhole Cover,Cast Brass, Unusual Shape,vintage box furniture
This is an old escutcheon or keyhole cover. This antique escutcheon is brass cast into an ornate design near the mounting holes. It has an unusual shape. It is 2 3/16 inches wide by 1 inch tall. It is thin. At only 1/16 inch thick. The keyhole opening is shorter than most, at 9/16 inch long. It is tarnished, and the curved part at the bottom edge is uneven and not as round as the top edge. This escutcheon may be for a cabinet or box.
