Also, could be a stunning designer piece for any oceanside property such as a B&B, hotel or motel, restaurant near the sea, lake, camp or anywhere. It could used for a variety of uses such as medicine, cookbooks, brochures, maps, office papers, on& on only limited to the imagination of a time gone by. This Neat Old Collectible, I was told is a piece that belonged to a famous Great Lakes Sea Captain named Capt. Thomas Ellery from Port Huron, Michigan. He was a Capt. there around 1860s& he lived to around 1903. It is a very unique piece& has a nice look to it. I believe this to ... morebe a Walnut or Mahogany type wood(quite heavy& solid) with brass or brass colored knobs& trim. There is a slide out writing desk style board on the bottom of the cabinet but is seen on the top in some pictures. The only thing I think is new is the brackets someone put on the back to hang to a wall or side of the ship? This measures approx. 28" wide X 25" tall X 11" deep.
