Air Mail and Air Express Routes Map. Everything that a tourist needed to know in those days for travel is included. Top and bottom corners of a few pages, and front cover, are creased. Cover edges are rubbed, turned, creased and a small tear or two. The two covers have been taped together as well as to the body. The cover has now separated from the body. Two names and an address are written on the front cover. This is old and dilapidated. But it is complete. A collector may wish to add this to his collection as 1942 is a rare issue to find.

The map was rescued from Gaskell's Atlas of the World, published in 1888, which was in unsalvageable condition. The last two photos validate the origin of the map and its publishing date. 1904 New Mexico & Colorado Hammond Atlas of the World 2-Sided Colorful Maps
Up for auction are two of several 19104 C.S. Hammond Atlas of the World maps I have on eBay. There is a map on each side. So you can put them in a two-sided frame to get twice the pleasure from them. Each page from the Atlas measures about 10 x 13 1/4" The maps are very colorful, totally readable. And ion state maps, include identification of cities and towns, with their populations and locations on the map. Some maps also show the state's total population as of 1900, a breakdown of the state's population by race and gender, number of foreign-born and native-born, and land and water surfaces in square miles. Latitude and longitude numbers are shown on all four sides of state maps, but not on city maps. All the maps are generally in very good condition, all complete, no serious flaws. Thank you for looking at this auction for this original 1955 Rand McNally road atlas. The atlas is full of vintage maps for the United States. Canada and Mexico. It includes information on each state's motor, fish and game laws, maps of states and provinces, city maps, national parks maps, mileage charts, and index to counties, cities and towns with populations. The atlas has 112 pages in large format. Each page measures 16 inches by 12 inches. When opened. The pages are 24 inches wide by 16 inches long, perfect for large scale maps. The atlas has been used and has some annotations. Folds and a few tears, mostly on the covers. The interior maps and pages seem to be clean and in good condition. NEVADA is shown smaller than today with its eastern edge part of UTAH at the time and the area around modern Las Vegas was part of the ARIZONA TERRITORY. The Cimarron Route of the Santa Fe Trail is shown as well as the Pony Express Route. The Old Spanish Trail, and the Humbolt River Emigrant Road.
