The map was printed before colour printing had yet to be perfected so the original colouring is done by hand. The map is printed on one side only and is perfect for framing. Very Nice 1890 Crams Railroad and county map of The Eastern Half of Texas. Map is in good condition. Showing all railroads from the time. It does have a fold in the middle as well as some slight browning. No major stains or rip or tears. The Paper is not brittle. Some Corner and Edge wear. One noticeable Corner fold as pictured above Map Measures 25" Long 17.5" Wide This Map along with other that will be listed was found in a Crams World atlas from 1890. The Book was in horrible condition. Water damage and other things that like to hid in dark places. I have saved what maps I could from the book that are in good shape. Antique Original 1939 Smith's United States Map with Republic of Texas
For sale is an original hand colored copper plate map from a rare edition of"Smith's Atlas. It is dated along the bottom. According to Act of Congress in the year 1939. This map has the much sought after Republic of Texas outlined in the international boundary symbol of dots and dashes. Also included are the large area of California, Oregon Territory, Nebraska Territory and Indian Territory. There is a lot of information such as populations, distance of rivers, Indian tribes, the Great American Desert with tall ships in the ocean! The map image measures 10-1/2 inches by 17-1/2 inches, printed on an 11-1/2 inches by 18-1/2 inches page. The reverse side of the map is blank. Condition is good though there is some yellowing due to age, some light stains and small tears on the edges. The center fold is held together with some antique ... morestitching along the top and bottom and in Texas. The back is also reinforced with what looks like antique paper tape. This old repair emphasizes the authenticity and gives character to the piece though I am sure it could be restored. The paper the map is printed on is heavy and still quite flexible.

It has yellowed a bit due to age. There is some foxing on the borders and some small light spots. The map will be lightly rolled for priority mail shipping.
