The ring once bore a very elaborate pattern on the sides of the band probably almost all the way around to the back. A similarly elaborate pattern embellished the circumferential ledge/skirt of the bezel, as well as an intricate perimeter of finely serrated“teeth” surrounding and securing the gemstone.
