Nice, Eastlake spoon carved pinwheels to the left and right with classic center flower and leaves in the middle. Each is carved with the same intricate leaf and berry design at the top corners The smaller cornice is near Perfect! ~ Squared across the top with a charming raised. Beveled arc that is accented with a band of carved leaves 16" wide x 8 1/4" long x 1 5/8" deep As you can see. ANTIQUE 1800's GOTHIC VICTORIAN ORNATE CARVED WOOD VINTAGE PEDIMENT CORNICE CRESTS A pair of very beautiful. 1800s, pediments that probably when on the back of chairs. They are made of solid wood and have openwork in the center with applied leaves on the sides. Each lovely crest measures approximately 14 1/2" across x 9 1/4" high(not including the dowels on the bottom) x 1 3/16" thick. The wood appears to have the original patina with some scratches to the surface finish. One of them(see photo) is missing the rosette in the middle and the wood is separating at the top and needs to be glued down(see photo) There must have been something else on the very top, because there is a dowel hole on the top of each one(see photo) Everything else looks great on these wonderful old pediments! Available for Immediate Purchase is ONE( 1) ANTIQUE USED Turn of the Century Victorian Carved Wood Pediment- dimensions 53"w x 18"h. Maximum thickness is 3" wood appears to be walnut but unknown- may have topped a large piece of furniture or wall item as the distance between inside of mortise joints is only 29 ½ inches- estimated vintage late 1890s to early 1900s(nails used appear to be wire nails. Not cut nails) purchased from an estate sale. Stunning Victorian Era 1800s Antique Carved Wood Pediment Over Mantel Mirror? We traveled an hour and a half South into central Illinois for a football game this week. And I took the opportunity of going treasure hunting in the cornfields. I found a surprising variety– there’s something for everyone this week! The best word to describe this one is AWESOME! I took one look at it. And it stopped my in my tracks. I don't know if it is a part from a piece of furniture, or an architectural piece- but my guess is latter. It looks like some type of small over mantel or maybe over a mirror or hall tree. It's a stunning fancy Victorian era pediment that will be yours to decide, though. made of solid wood with a very dark patina, it measures 21" widest, 7 1/2" deepest and 31" tallest at the center of the top decoration- that's ... moremeasuring on the farthest spots of the outside walls. The inside(measuring on the inside walss of the front) opening is 16 5/8" wide 4 7/8" deep front to back at the lower unadorned half, amd 18" tall from the bottom of the feet to the"ceiling" on the inside top. It weighs a smidge under 8 lbs. It's in excellent solid and sturdy structural condition- with tongue and groove construction that you can see at the back- this is a quality piece. At the front bottom half, if you look at photos 10& 11, you can see two small nail holes on either side- so it was clearly mounted to or behind something on that lower half. The good news is that it stands on its own as it is- as you can see in my photos, and also that it's stained the same color there- although not varnished, I don't believe, but because of the stain, it really does not stand out to me- see what you think in my photos. The finish is in overall nice shape- with some scratching and scraping. There's a 4" long light shallow scratch the top left that you can see in photo 8. There's some other smaller scratches there too. That's the worst of it as far as the front/show

Near MINT condition! Authentic. 19th century, furniture header. Solid oak construction. Nice carving at each end with 3 turned spindles closer to middle. Above each spindle is a cannonball finial. Even further toward the middle are double half spindles. The center has a diamond shaped, acanthus medallion with a dramatic, beveled arch above. The arch has 4 button medallions with another finial on top. That finial sits atop more acanthus carving. It also stands freely, upright, on its own if required.Overall, a splendid Victorian design. MINT CONDITION! Original. 19th century, header. Solid walnut with fantastic patina. Classic Eastlake inscribed carving to left and right. The middle has 2 carved leaves with a classic Eastlake flower medallion. The medallion is in a horn style and VERY 3 dimensional in person. Above is a arched multi-layed cornice. Completely freestanding with numerous mounting holes if being used as backsplash. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer one than this beauty. No cracks, repairs, or missing pieces!
