The gilded gesso molded frame is exquisite, formed flawlessly to create a complex array of blended acanthus foliage making up the entire frame, culminating in the crest with a full floral arrangement over vines and leaves. The apron of each is multi-dimensions of twisted rope, again interlaced with unique floral designs. The acanthus form is favored throughout, represented heavily in the carved handholds, the stiles below the velvet medallion backs of each chair and where the arm supports join the seats.
