Anasazi / Fremont Atlatl Fore shaft
A well crafted hardwood Atlatl foreshaft that is burnt on one end. My original thought is that it was fire hardened but on closer examination I noticed that it is simply burnt. It looks to me as if the dart was broken on impact and re-used as you can see impact wear on the broken end. The reason for the burnt end is unknown. Posted with

BEAUTIFUL AND RARE RED ANASAZI MUG
This Anasazi mug is in the Wingate style. Its from the Aztec New Mexico area. Its about 900 years old. You rarely see mugs painted red. Its marked Morris on the bottom. Quite possibly from Earl Morris personal collection, the discoverer and excavator of the Aztec Ruins. But thats just my own guess. There is no paperwork on this piece as I got it in a trade with a bunch of other stuff. This is not a reproduction and is 100% legit. I offer a full money back garruntee if not satisfied. This would make a great addition to your collection, Ive never seen a red mug offered before and have only seen one other in a museum. I do have a reserve on this one, but its not very high considering the piece. This is one of my favorites and Im sorta sad to see it go, Ive had it for about 4 years. Ill make sure its packed securely and with great care. Happy ... morebidding and good luck

HOHOKAM (ANASAZI) SMALL POT, 3 INCHES TALL, CIRCUMFERENCE 10IN. UNRESTORED
HOHOKAM(ANASAZI) INDIAN MADE POT. THIS POT IS ESTIMATED TO BE BETWEEN 700 AND 1400 YEARS OLD. IT IS A LITTLE OVER 3 INCHES TALL AND 10 INCHES AROUND AT WIDEST PART OF BODY OF POT. THERE HAS BEEN NO RESTORATION ON THIS POT. IT DOES HAVE ONE PIECE MISSING FROM THE RIM. A VERY BEAUTIFUL LITTLE POT. THE HOHOKAM INDIANS OCCUPIED THE VALLEY OF THE SUN(PHOENIX. AZ) AND MUCH OF SOUTHERN ARIZONA FROM A.D. 1 TO 1450. NUMEROUS VILLAGE SITES HAVE BEEN FOUND THROUGHOUT THE VALLEY OF THE SUN AND SOUTHERN ARIZONA. THE HOHOKAM WERE FARMERS WHO GREW CORN, BEAN, SQUASH, AND AGAVE. THEY ALSO GREW COTTON FOR TEXTILES. THEY BUILT HUNDREDS OF MILES OF CANALS THROUGHOUT THE VALLEY TO IRRIGATE THEIR AGRICULTURAL FIELDS. SOME OF THE SAME CANALS WERE LATER RE-EXCAVATED AND USED BY PIONEER FARMERS IN HISTORIC TIMES. AS FAR AS IS KNOWN, THE HOHOKAM HAD NO DOMESTICATED ... moreLIVESTOCK. THEY HUNTED GAME SUCH AS DEER, RABBIT AND QUAIL. THEY MADE POTTERY AND STONE TOOLS AND WOVE COTTON TEXTILES. THEY ALSO MADE HUNDREDS OF PETROGLYPHS ON ROCK OUTCROPS THROUGHOUT THE VALLEY. AS FAR AS IS KNOWN. THE HOHOKAM HAD NO FORM OF WRITING. THE CANALS DUG BY THE HOHOKAM APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN QUITE COMPLEX. THE CANALS WERE VERY WELL ENGINEERED, AS LATER DISCOVERED BY EUROPEAN AMERICAN FARMERS. IT IS BELIEVED THAT THEY LIVED IN COMMUNITIES THAT HAD PLATFORM MOUNDS AND BALL COURTS THAT WERE USED FOR CEREMONIAL GAMES AND OTHER SPECIAL OCCASIONS WHEN SEVERAL COMMUNITIES GATHERED TOGETHER. THE HOHOKAM MIGRATED NORTH FROM WHAT IS MEXICO AND SETTLED IN SOUTHERN ARIZONA. THERE IS STRONG EVIDENCE THAT THEY MAINTAINED TIES WITH COMMUNITIES IN MEXICO. WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM. VARIOUS THEORIES HAVE BEEN PROPOSED OVER THE LAST CENTURY TO ANSWER THIS QUESTION. ONE THEORY STATES THAT THEY MIGRATED BACK TO MEXICO. POSSIBLY AFTER AN EXTENDED DROUGHT IN ARIZONA. ANOTHER THEORY PROPOSES THAT THEY REMAINED HERE AND EVOLVED CULTURALLY INTO THE TOHON CHUI(FORMERLY KNOWN AS THE PIMA INDIANS AND/OR TOHONO O'ODHAM TRIBES FORMERLY KNOWN AS THE PAPAGO INDIANS. OUTSTANDING 800AD ANASAZI RED BLACK POLYCROME BOWL....L@@K!
OUTSTANDING BOWL!if the photos do not come up. Please refresh your page) This auction is for a wonderful old bowl. The bowl was made around 800 AD by the Anasazi. This is a red and black polychrome bowl with a super black line decoration. The bowl measures from base to rim 4 1/4"now the bottom is a little out of round so it tilts a scoosh, its a hair over 8 1/2" at the rim and the base is about 3" and it is rounded. Now there are two oops in this bowl. As you can see it the photos they are both at the rim.the first measures 3/4" inch and the other is more of a flea bite.maybe a 1/4" This does not detract from the super design in the bowl. As you can see the bottom its has what you want to see.the black smudges where there might have been some heat. This is a good bowl and a good investment. Perfect with your Native ... moreAmerican collection. Thank you for looking and do feel free to ask questions. WE GUARANTEE OUR AUCTIONS 100% WE FOLLOW ALL EBAY AUCTION RULES. WE DO NOT END AUCTIONS. Red on buff good sized Anasazi pot. About 6 inches tall and a diameter of 6 1/2" This circa 1000 AD pot was found in Arizona. The condition is good with no cracks or holes. The rim is rough with a number of chips(see pictures)There is one area about 3" wide where the decoration is very worn-as shown in the pictures. Ex-Rex Arrowsmith collection. Rex Arrowsmith was a well known expert on the Southwest native cultures-he wrote a number of books on the subject and was a major dealer in artifacts of the region. We bought this pot about ten years ago for our personal collection-selling now to meet college expenses for our youngest.
