Beautiful cobalt decorated stoneware crock. It has fabulous decoration which looks like leaves on a vine. It also looks like hearts. None of this distracts from the appearance. This stoneware crock is not in mint condition so if you are wanting mint please don't bid. This is an old utilitarian piece and used as such. Antique Stoneware Syrup BENNETT'S Jan 23. 1873 PATENT TANKARD w Blue Heron NR! Description. Here is a SWEET one for you! A tall syrup in a slim tankard ... moreform with gorgeous conical lid in stoneware. It has Aged extremley well. Near Museum quality in our opinion and look at the shape. Slight underglaze darkening but glaze beautiful. gorgeous loop hangle with thumbrest. Lid immaculate. Hinge immaculate. Original gold lines on rails bordering collar almost completely cleaned off but an easy restoration. Magnificent the way it is. There seems to be the slightest rub of the lid on the backside shoulder edge and a nick. Perhaps but otherwise, near museum quality to me. The glaze on the top edge of the tankard looks poured on. Image 12 shows the depth of the glaze and crackling depth. Polychromic Hand colored transfer of a stylized water bird resembling a Great Blue Heron wading in flowered wetlands decorating each side of syrup body has great color and is in beautiful condition. Interesting thumb lever appears to be styled or formed as the back of a book and is serrated in a chevron on the thumb side for a sure grip while pouring. Stands 6 1/2" to the top edge of the slim tankard. And 8" to the finial on beautiful conical lid. Handsome slim tankard form with beautiful classic loop handle with great thumbrest. You will not find many of these around in this condition. Stamped"BENNETT'S/ JAN 23. 1873/ PATENT" I would be interested in the patented feature or innovation represented by that patent. Magnificent slim tapering form. Great loop handle, outstanding lid and outstanding condition make this one you will REALLY LIKE. We cleaned the exterior. Inside is very clean. I doubt that any syrup was ever in this great piece. We see no evidence of it inside. And Now. The"fine print" We are not experts in any field. And not doll experts. Please bid according to what YOU believe the item to be, and not on what OUR OPINION of the item is, as our descriptions are what WE BELIEVE the Item to be. I

Awesome Antique Stoneware Brown Jug or Crock!
This is a WONDERFUL! VERY OLD stoneware jug or crock! It has some interesting imperfections. It has a beautiful rich brown glaze on the inside and outside. There are some very minor chips in the underside and edge of the lid. Other than that it is perfect! There are no cracks or damage anywhere else. It is about 8 inches from handle to front and roughly about 6 inches tall. I have no idea how far back this goes in my family. It truly looks like it could have sat in one of their pioneer homes of the 1800s. There is no mark on the bottom. I am setting a reserve of $55 on this. Thanks for bidding!

A 17th. century “Westerwald” salt glazed stoneware beer jug around 1690
From an old Dutch stoneware collection I’m offering a German beer jug. The jug was made in Westerwald in Germany at the end of the 17 th. century. The jug is decorated with leaves in manganese in a decorated grey square against a cobalt blue background. On top of the jug there is a pewter lid. Which dates according to my opinion, from a later date The condition of the jug is almost perfect, there are two very small hairlines in the handle and there is a crack in the foot(see pictures) furthermore there are no chips or restorations. Antique GLEN GARRY HIGHLAND WHISKY Stoneware Jug Port-Dundas Pottery Co. Glasgow
You are bidding on a vtg/antique Glen Garry Old Highland Whiskey stoneware jug produced by Port Dundas Pottery(Glasgow. Scotland) somewheres between 1878 and when the factory closed in 1930. From the makers mark we are fairly certain this piece dates to about 1901-1919. Around 1920-1930 Port Dundas Pottery begain marking their stoneware with just the words"Made in Scotland" pic 12) Although Port Dundas was in business since 1828, it wasn't until 1878 when they were the first to introduce transfer printing, onto stoneware and advertised they could stamp bottles in color(In this case black) This would have been with a hand held rubber stamp, taken from an etched copper plate. This stoneware jug is in exceptional condition for its age. No chips. Cracks, or repairs. The original cork is missing. The black transfer graphics are still ... morevery clear and crisp. There is a bit of black transfer ink on the neck of the jug. This was common as we mentioned they were hand stamped and obviously the worker who stamped the bottle had transfer ink on his hand. Measures approx. 8" tall and 5 1/2" in diameter. The base is approx. 3 1/2" in diameter. Shipping weight approx. 4 pounds 8 ounces. `0d.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk.rp*fc%3E%3E%600d-13d0b0f806c-0xfa-
Antique Pitcher Stoneware Puzzle Jug Possibly Fenton & Sons 1887 to 1901
Up for bid is a beautiful late 19th century/early 20th century puzzle jug. Perhaps a pitcher or a lamp base. Unusual four spouted British stoneware brown and tan with raised and pierced decoration, windmill and figural vignettes, unmarked, Possibly Alfred Fenton& Sons(1887-1901) who made many puzzle jugs. Applied handle. 7 1/2" high. The object of a puzzle jug was to drink the contents without spilling it. Many contests occured in bars. This was a requisition from The Yale University British Art Gallery according to auction records. A fine example. Some slight imperfections to glaze. One spout(not actually a spout-the hole in them does not go all the way through to the inside) is broken off. One tiny nick on base which is not noticeable Payment or arrangements are expected within 48 hours of auctions end. I accept personal checks ... morefrom U.S. residence only. And Paypal. Antique G. Wyer Pop Stoneware Bottle
This is an old stoneware bottle I picked up years ago at an estate sale. I know nothing about old bottles so can't tell you much. I liked the blue lettering which reads G. WYER POP There is a triangle above that also in blue. It measures 10 3/8" tall. The lip is in great shape but as you can see the bottom has a pretty good sized chip out of it. It still sits fine and isn't all the way threw. I thought I'd see if anyone wants it before it hits the trash can. It doesn't look bad on display.

1990-1994, 5 Stoneware Cheese Crocks, Graphics and Year
Here are 5 Holiday Cheese Crocks. 1990. 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994 Beautiful brown crocks with bails. I have included the rubber gaskets for 3. But most are dried out and should be replaced. Each one has a different holiday picture and is dated on the front. 1990 crock has a small chip on lower outside edge of lid. Crock 1991 has a very small chip on inside edge of lid. 1994 has a smudge in the white transfer picture. 3 have glazed bottoms. 2 unglazed bottoms. Colors vary slightly. I believe these crocks were from Figis as they currently make dated holiday crocks. But the company could not verify these designs. I will also be listing more of these dated crocks up through the year 2010. I am only listing them 5 at a time as they are very heavy to ship. Questions? Please email and thank you for looking!
Hand Turned Salt Glaze Red Wing Stoneware Crock with Hand Drawn Leaf
For your consideration is six gallon salt glaze crock that was manufactured in Red Wing. Minnesota during the 1880s or the early 1890s. This crock is hand turned and using the slip cup method, the potter(which was also an artist) drew the 6 and the leaf. This crock is approximately 14 1/2" tall and the bottom is approximately 12" in diameter. This crock has a minor chip, a hairline and is badly stained. The chip is on the left side and closer to the back than it is to the front. The hairline is on the right side, further back than the handle, but closer to the handle than the back; this hairline runs downward for approximately 5" The stains are everywhere. 1880 T.F. Reppert Successor To Jas. Hamilton Greensboro PA Stoneware Crock RARE!
WOWWEEEE! They may be out there. But I've never seen one. Successor To" This is an Antique T.F. Reppert Successor To Jas. Hamilton& Co. Stoneware Crock Circa 1880. This old crock is in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks or hairlines. The only thing I can find wrong with it is a scuffed up area on the base. Imagine something so old aging so well. The glaze is in perfect condition inside and out but it could use a good cleaning. The letters are a little faded but still very legible and look like the normal weathering I have seen on many of these T.F. Reppert crocks. If you've seen enough of them, you will know what I mean. It measures 9 7/8" tall x 6" in diameter at the base. These have to be pretty rare. So it could be one of your only opportunities to own one, especially in this condition. Fantastic. I have had it for about 15 years ... moreand just used it as a decorative. Condition: very good vintage/ used condition. There are some minor flaws; a flake inside bottom of crock/ pot which can be seen in the pictures. A very minor hairline from top edge; approximately 1-1/4" on the side near one of the handles. Does not reach the handle. Very minor in my opinion. There is some crazing common to a piece of this age. There are some areas of relections in the images, including a grayish cast, sorry. Antique Pitcher Copeland & Garrett Stoneware 1833-1847
Up for bid is a rare stoneware pitcher. 1833-1847 impressed mark, The Vintage, Copeland& Garrett" on base. Young boys in high relief carousing in various stages of activity amongst a backdrop of grape vines, shaped and pierced branch handle. 9 1/2" high with handle, 7" wide at widest part. There is a old darkened business card with it. R. Brobin Antiques in Boston, MA. Blue Salt Glaze Vin, 33.00" Provenance information from Yale Univ. British Art Gallery is included, which is a sheet of paper with photo and log numbers, but Yale's name is not on the paper. Information& provenance from a reputable auction gallery. 1833-1847 Spode became Copeland& Garrett partnership and during this period pieces were stamped with Copeland and Garrett mark sometimes called late Spode. Condition: A couple tinyl chips. The ... morelighter area you can see on the top rim is paint which someone added to cover a hairline(see photos) There is one small chip of a article a boy is holding(photo#4) Some cleaning is needed-you can see in the photos-on the boys-there are dark speckles that could be cleaned off. This is caused by the porous stoneware which allows soil to get in the pores. The color is most like photo#1. Just slightly brighter. More of a defined sky blue color. The blue color appears to be solid through the pitcher& not a color that was applied. A important example of old British stoneware. Obviously crafted by a skilled potter. ANTIQUE 1860's ENGLISH ASHWORTH CO. WHITE STONEWARE PITCHER W/ GOTHIC PATTERN
This simple. Yet classic Gothic design pitcher has a beautiful look and is in great condition. It has no chips, cracks or any discoloration. It has a round embossed mark on the bottom and incised within it reads"A. BROS.HANLEY" and"Gothic" There is a"18" in the center as well. This mark was used by G. L. Ashworth during the first few years he was in business. He was in business from 1862 to 1884. The Gothic craze ran mainly from 1840 to 1865. The stoneware of this pitcher is similar to that used by Charles Meigh for his"Apostle Jug" and his other Gothic pieces during the 1840s. This pitcher was more than likely produced between 1862 and 1865. The popularity of Gothic design had pretty much worn out during the very early 1860s. This beautiful pitcher measures 8"20.4 cm) in height and 6"15.3 ... morecm) in diameter. The handle is 5 3/4"14.8 cm) in length in extends another 2"5.1 cm) out, away from the pitcher. The flared base has a Gothic design and the embossed pattern on the body features overlapping arches, similar to a cathedral window. There is small stippling(dots) between the embossed designs that set off smooth raised areas. The"sparrow beak" spout is fluted and the handle is embossed with Bell flowers on either side. The handle and the interior of the pitcher are more highly glazed to prevent body oils, dirt, etc. from people's hands from leaving stains. This pitcher weighs 2 pounds. There is a tiny indentation on the outer rim of the bottom. This is not a chip. It is smooth and is a defect that occurred during production of the pitcher. There is a $1.00 charge for a box within a larger box and ample packing material to ensure safe delivery. The pitcher is much whiter than pictures show it to be. International Buyers Please Note: Import duties. Taxes and related charges are not included in the item price or shipping and handling charges. These charges are the buyers responsibility. Heavy cobalt glaze stoneware pitcher jug late 1800s early 1900s white interior
Limmer Lane Antiques Welcome To Limmer Lane Antiques! Heavy cobalt glaze stoneware pitcher jug late 1800s early 1900s white interior Nice older pitcher. In style and form it is hard to put a date to however the base and top rim show wear that is consistent with an older piece. I'm going to dare to say that it dates to the late 1800's through the earlier part of the 1900's. Overall condition is great with no chips or cracks to make note of and only the before mentioned age related wear. From the top edge to the base rim measures about 7 1/4" and the top edge is 5 1/4" from the handle to the tip of the spout. I'm afraid that the pictures did not do justice to the heavy cobalt glaze.Looks a bit richer in person. The pitcher weighs about 3 pounds un-packaged. ♥Take a look and feel welcome to ask any questions/make offers. All ... morereasonable offers are considered! Like our shop? Ca.1850 Stoneware Monkey Pitcher
This auction is for a wonderful mid 19th century salt-glazed stoneware pitcher with raised figures of monkeys in elaborate feathered pirate costumes smoking. Drinking and playing cards. The stoneware body is a light yellowish beige color with a lighter colored slip glaze in the interior. The pitcher is perfect with no chips, cracks breaks or repairs. There is also a wonderful casting of a smiling grotesque face under the pitcher spout. The front of the pitcher and the back of the pitcher also have palm trees which at the back of the pitcher continues into the handle which is cast in the form of palm leaves. The pitcher is 8 and 1/2 inches tall to the top of the handle and approximately 8 inches from the widest portion of the handle to the spout. It is not marked but I did find a comparable pitcher which was marked by Edward Walley of Cobridge ... moreStaffordshire who worked from 1845-1856. I beleive this pitcher was probably made from the same mould. Winning bidder pays actual shipping via USPS priority mail plus insurance. Antique Stoneware Beer Bottle "A.H. Webster" Salt-Glaze+ About Perfect, Nice!!!
Measuring 9 1/8" High by 3 3/4" Wide. Across the Base, is this Very Old 19th. century"StoneWare" Beer bottle with the debossing"A.H. WEBSTER" on the conical neck of the bottle. There is some kind of a graphic flower/ paining design or decal, possibly, that would be easily removed. I removed a green felt pad, on the base, and there are traces of the remnants of that on the base. There are NO CRACKS, NO LINES, NO CHIPS, etc. There is a very Old, Pin-point, hardly noticeable flea-bite, on the inside of the Mouth, where it looks like the side of an opener may have caught the Lip. Not Distracting or considered damage. Bottle is Super clean. I have never heard of this Merchant, and wonder if the bottle is listed(in Graci's Book? etc. Nice!

What is practiced in the United States today is a massive variation of the original raku process. Americanized raku was developed by Paul Soldner in the 1960s. This process consists of quick firing a pot in a kiln that can be easily opened. When the glaze on the piece has melted to the point where it has a glossy appearance, the kiln is opened and the pot is removed with tongs. The piece is then smoked in a container of organic material-usually shredded newspaper, leaves or sawdust. The container is sealed for 10-20 minutes, where the glazes are reduced and beautiful colors and patterns result. This pottery is usually quite porous and the glaze is often purposely cracked and/or pitted. Raku pottery is, therefore, semifunctional and used for holding dry wares and decorative purposes only hh All the pieces at Corvus Moon Pottery are wheel-thrown. Originals.
