Federal Style Mahogany Camel Back Upholstered Settee Circa the First Quarter of the 20th Century With a soft serpentine curvature along the crest into the arms. This petite window bench has wonderful form. The arms scroll outward and into the seat frame, the entire frame covered in a striped upholstery, which stuffs over the frame of the seat. The sofa rests over two tapered and molded front legs, each of solid carved mahogany- the back legs are slightly backswept, tapering in a plain leg. This is a gorgeous designer piece. Dimensionally perfect for a window bench, a small settee in front of the master bed, as a seating implement in a smaller room or study. The flame Cuban or Honduran mahogany of which this piece is made is just beautiful. This is an old piece. Dating back to the early nineteenth century. The frame was expertly restored and refinished over ten years ago, so the piece is very sturdy and tight, the finish is excellent and has a wonderful patina. The rolled arms feature exuberantly-carved cornucopia. The lifelike hairy paw feet are complemented by carved acanthus leaves and feathers. The suite boasts a lovely curved shape from the back into the sweeping scroll arms. The suite features a central floral carved mahogany shaped splat and at the corners of the couch are step-downs. Which are typical of the Art Deco period. The base of the suite features a brass-studded frame and below the suite descends onto decorative bun feet at the front and sabre legs to the rear. The suite is fitted with removable cream leather cushions that are all in excellent condition. The suite features a sprung base below. The suite seats up to four people comfortably. Circa 1860- 1880. The chaise boasts(when facing) a carved right hand arm. A raised sweeping back with a moulded frame. The back deep-buttoned rail sweeps down and is connected to the frame. The front of the chaise features a straight rail and the end of the chaise has straight end. The chaise is upholstered in rich pink draylon upholstery. The swab and tube cushion is detachable. The chaise features the original turned legs to the back and front and below these are brass castors. The frame and legs are constructed of solid mahogany. The chaise can seat up to 3 persons. C19th Antique Victorian Mahogany Chesterfield Three Seater Sofa Settee
Here we have for offer a good Victorian mahogany Chesterfield style mahogany three seater settee dating to the second half of the 19th century. This good sized sofa has a well padded back with scrolled arms over a sprung seat being raised on mahogany turned legs with later castors. Condition wise the back and arms are fine being well stuffed and padded. The seat is comfortable but little soft in places although the springs have not gone and just need a little tightening and padding. As you can see the castors are much later but we have included in the sale a set of two brass castors which we will put on prior to delivery(shown in the pictures) The brown velour upholstery whilst not ripped is quite dusty and if was going to be kept could do with a good brush/ wash. This is a Superb quality mahogany settee made in USA. It sits on lion claw carved feet. To either side of the settee it has carved scrolls and the back is flamed mahogany. ANTIQUE SHERATON TRIPLE SHIELD BACK MAHOGANY SETTEE
Offered here is a graceful. Triple shield back Sheraton mahogany settee. This piece has enjoyed a long life, and has been used, so has required attention and repairs. It again now, is sound and sturdy. It does need reupholstering. It has been upholstered a couple of times, at least, however there is still viable framework for tacks. This settee has hand carved elements. Both on the top ends of the arms and on the shields. Please refer to the photos. The piece measures 56" from arm to arm. And 23" from front to back. It is 37" tall. The seat height is 18 1/2" The settee has been professionally repaired and the finish restored and hand rubbed to a smooth polish.
