This is a antique/vintage Cast Iron& Wood Superior Automatic child's school desk. Although it is currently in pieces everything is accounted for you will just need hardware to reassemble it. The leg supports are a Steampunk/Romantic Shabby style/look. They have an ornate flower like design on them. They are in very good condition with breakage/damage that I can find. These always make an excellent entry way/foyer piece of home décor. Otherwise turn them into a project of some sort. I went to the Getty Center Museum and ones that looked like these were on the bottom of their 17th and 18th century furniture pieces. And under the description it said that these were used to help protect the furniture pieces from water damaged that would be caused by flooding. They're in good used vintage condition with surface wear and tarnish, there are some small hairlines in the casting and small nicks. FANTASTIC, BIG, HEAVY ANTIQUE SAW BASE TABLE-BASE CIRCA 1900 #131KG-5
Made in and with materials from the Connecticut River Valley region of Western Massachusetts. The"Saw" Table: The base has been re-purposed and the top is completely hand-crafted. This is an actual antique. At least half of it. The base is a re-finished frame from a turn of the century table saw, complete with saw guide instructions intact. I believe the wood is white oak but I am not sure because of the extreme patina. The top is made of 1" white pine, a distressed reproduction of the original top but larger in order to accommodate a dinner party. The center of the top is designed for tempered 1/2" glass, a window through which to view the original framework. Because of the size and weight of the table it was made to split apart the top from the bottom into two more manageable pieces. The table top bolts to the base for ... morea tight, secure fit. Circa 1900-2 complete sets of drawer pulls. back parts are thin brass. 5 inches long-has a Paisley pattern. the only fault I can find is in the thin brass backings.they are so thin that there are a few places that I can see a crack- also on the back-I can see the start of verdigris. in the second photo you can see what the back looks like-and see the grey starting to form. handles are heavy brass-and so are the parts that hold that handles on. no problems with deterioration that I can see. each set has 4 parts-back. SALVAGE OAK TABLE LEGS - ORNAMENTAL - ARCHITECTURAL - GORGEOUS LUMBER
HIGHLY ORNAMENTAL OAK TABLE LEGS SALVAGE AND ARCHITECTURAL BEAUTIES Approximate measurements: All- 15" height 11" depth top- 3" 3 1/2" claw- 4 1/2" 4 3/4" Approximate weight: 23 lbs. These four legs are wonderful. Made of oak boards and carved in amazing lion foot detail. Each claw is designed with real carvings and each toe is distinguishable with a fluted furry side piece flanking both sides on all four legs. The oak is solid and has a nice white or antique white paint that has crackled with age. Not sure what kind of paint it is though. The claws are currently a gold metallic color. Great base for that wonderful piece you've been thinking of building. There are screw holes and nail holes and screws and nails still in the end. Antique CAST IRON LEGS RECLAIMED WOOD INDUSTRIAL TABLE Base Stand Console Entry
This table started life as an industrial sewing machine stand/ base. The cast iron legs are in good solid condition. Still showing most of the original paint. The company name, PHOENIX, is still showing off its gold gilt paint. The top has had the old finish scraped away to reveal the aged color and grain without destroying the patina. Rather than patching the large hole where the machine would have been mounted, its been enlarged to serve as a catchment'trough' at the back of the table, much like the antique woodworkers' benches. The revised/ revived top was then coated with several layers of polyurethane. An excellent addition to an entry hall, behind a sofa, hallway, under a large window, etc. Note that the top mounts on the legs so as to protrude along one long side, allowing stools and leg space if desired. The top measures ... more44 1/4" long and 21 1/2" deep. The legs are 24" apart as shown with the stretcher. The feet are 17" front to back, while at the top the legs are 13" front to back. This is an antique set of cast iron legs for a table or work bench. Heavy thick iron in a pleasant scroll design. Rust was removed and the legs clear coated lightly. Then set out to rust just a little to add highlights and a little color. Given the span between the legs and two stretchers, this may well be base for a French pastry table. The dimensions are 29 1/2" tall, 36 1/2" long, and 15 1/4" front to back. It will ship dismantled.
