Magnificent Antique Armoire in Solid Brazilian Rosewood. Rare! Exquisite!
Beautiful and one of a kind; massive yet not too large or bulky. Antique SOLID brazilian rosewood( dalbegia nigra) armoire. A type of furniture only ever found in Brazil, were this superb wood abounded in the past. Besides, it was made by none other than LEANDRO MARTINS, Rio de Janeiro, one of the foremost brazilian cabinet makers of late 19th, early 20th century. A rare, unique and exquisite piece, not to be missed, specially considering how dear and scarce this wood has become. The large side panels, made from single large, wide and thick boards, could well be used for the purpose of fine lutherie/ guitar building. The same applies to the four large and thick front drawers, and the front door panels. In fact, even the structure of this piece was made with plenty of rosewood, wide and thick frames, all very heavy and well selected. Up for sale is this Antique Cabinet Set that was originally purchased for $7.800.00 back in 2005 that is now being sold because the new owner of the home is into more of a modern look. The cabinets are located in BEVERLY HILLS and they are in perfect condition. The side units have custom glass inlays and each has a light fixture attachment at the top in order to illuminate books/art being displayed in the unit. The center unit's doors slide out and in to mount flush when the cabinet is open and there is a swiveling slide out located inside. Antique Gilt Ormolu Fournier Armoire Decorative Mounting Piece. This came from an antique French Armoir. It was the top decoration of the armoire. It is cast in the piece on the back"Fournier" as well as the numbers 1198. Measures 15" long with the widest part measuring 5" It appears to have lost the left side of the decoration. But this was done a very long time ago as the patina matches the front of it. Nice patina. Gilt over bronze casting. Nice piece. Sells as is without reserve.

ANTIQUE FRENCH MARRIAGE ARMOIRE
This auction is for a most unusual antique armoire from Normandy. Most probably from the Caux region. The carving on this piece indicates that it was made in the provinces by a local woodworker. Everything about this stunning piece shows that it was entirely hand done and not for the mass market. It was most probably made between 1750 and 1850. All the joinery is double doved or butterfly. It is made of solid wood except for the interior of the dome top and the back. It was made. As was typical of the day, as a knockdown. The doors, base, back and dome top are all separate pieces. The separate dove carving indicates that this was a marriage armoire given as a dowry piece. Most were expertly done but this has all the earmarks of one made perhaps by the father of the bride. Made in his own wood workshop. A recent addition to the piece is the ... moreadditional cut in the doors doors which allow them to completely foldaway so that the piece can be used as an entertainment unit without the encumbrance of traditional doors which can only partially be.opened. This was done professionally and is imperceptible when the doors are closed. The original white painted finish must have been touched up at some time but it still retains its original patina. All hardware original to the piece. Two original extra shelves are included. Not pictured. It ships knockdown. The right door is warped but it still closes. Sizes: 50" wide. 28" deep, 88" high.

This hand-built reproduction of a 18th century Dutch armoire would look beautiful in your home or office. An original sold recently for over €20.000. I’m not sure about its exact age, but the materials and the construction methods used suggest that this armoire was built in the early 1900’s. This armoire has two paneled doors with molded ebony inlays. Inside are three oak plank shelves. With a small drawer suspended from the bottom one. Below the doors is a single wide drawer, locked with a pin from inside the unit. Dimensions are approximately 74.4"189 cm) high, 19.7" 50 cm) deep, and 59” 150 cm) wide. The largest dimensions are for the top of the unit: 70.1 inches(178 cm) at its widest point, and 25.6" 65 cm) deep. The doors measure about 58.3" 148 cm) in width. It has ball feet in front and straight legs at the back ... moreof the unit. The lock is fully functional and includes an ornate key. There is some evidence of normal wear-and-tear. Country French 1790 Fruitwood Antique Armoire. An authentic Country French or Provincial armoire was hand carved of solid fruitwood about 1790. The satiny finish is excellent with just enough antique patina for a little character- see photos for mars at the edges and shrinkage separation. The fruitwood has old wormholes- typical of European furniture from the 1700's At the top. A well proportioned crown is removable for easier handling. Front doors have been lined in oak a few years ago, probably at the same time the removable oak shelves and supports were added. Joints have original carved square wooden pegs. Wrought iron hinges and escutcheons are also original on this gracious historic furniture from central France. The key is a handle only. The lock is incomplete. This beautiful piece has been intricately designed with inlay and burled wood veneers. There are 3 tall doors. The patterns on the 2 outer doors add so much character to this armoire. The center door is covered in a huge arched beveled mirror that appears to be original. The mirror has some fogging and dark spots, very typical of a piece this old. There are no breaks, chips or cracks ... morein the mirror that I can see. All the doors have key holes, however we do not have a key. There are 4 brass capped feet supporting the front and 2 feet supporting the back. Molded brass trim adorns the crest above the doors and the corners around the arched mirror top. The center cabinet has a bar in the top for hanging items. There are shelves in the side doors and lots of room for more shelves to be added. The center hinge on the right door is broken and the side panel has bowed a little because of it. There are several pieces of inlay missing from the design on each of the outer doors and the veneer is so old it has cracked and split in many areas. Overall this piece is in nice condition, it just needs a little tlc. I do not know the maker or exact date it was made. This armoire weighs 450 pounds. Beautiful Antique Golden Oak Two Door Two Drawer - Armoire-with original key
This beautiful 80" high armoire is 42" wide and 17" deep. It is an original antique believed to come from the early 1900's and with no veneer. It has the original pulls. Keyholes and one key. The ornate'crest' is 44"wide and 11" high. The two doors open up to what has been used as new shelves for folded clothes or storage, etc. The depth is not good for coat hangers unless you hang them left to right. The two drawers down at the base are handy. This entire armoire dismantles after removing a few screws when it has to be moved as in'floor to floor' which makes moving easier. This oak armoire is 82" tall. 52" wide and 18.5" deep. It has two doors which measures 59.5" x 23.5" There are two drawers on the bottom which measure 6 3/8" x 16" each. The molding at the top would blend nicely with arts and crafts design. There are two splits on the back side of the left door on the back board. This does not in any way affect stability. The right door has some chewiness at the corner on the inside only probably from wear. There are two plastic over metal shelves currently installed. There is a wooden top shelf and the top of the base serves as a fourth shelf. Can hold stereo equipment nicely.
