Eagle lock was in business from 1833-1954. So the age ... moreof the trunk lies in that time frame. It is adorned with black metal trim and ornate brass accents. This old trunk does show it's age in places. But there is nothing major. A few nicks, and there are a few dents or ding marks in the black metal trim. On the top front you will see there is 2 areas of chipped or worn off wood, a small amount enough to where wood putty filler should be an easy fix if you wish. There is also a very small chip place on the side you can see in pic 6. One of the hinges on the back is missing one button, see pic 9, and there is some separation on some of the brass corner pieces you can see in pic 12. I think I have mentioned every flaw. But please see all the pictures for the best description. For a trunk this old I consider its condition to be normal. Also, this would make a nice coffee table. the top is flat. This is an antique or vintage Hartmann Tourobe made in Racine WI travel wardrobe trunk. Trunk measures about 35" x 20" x 12" This has been used. There are surface scratch/rub marks on the outside of the trunk, the leather handle is broken off, the closures work but there is not a key to lock them. Trunk is has markings on the end that say Lt. Comdr. Johnstone MCVS U.S.N.R. on the end and a sticker that says Gibalterized. The Hartmann Tourobe Racine Wi sticker is intact. There are travel stickers attached to the outside and a tag that says Railway Express, Inc. War Won't Wait, if that helps to date it. This outside is black with metal, and not sure what the main material is, maybe a pressed wood. The inside is blue with 3 compartments on the fold down side, 2 of the compartments have cloth ties, the top cloth part folds ... moreover and snaps at the end, snap pieces are intact. The other side has 2 wood hangers and the metal pieces that hold the hangers fold in to hold the hangers and can be folded out when the trunk is opened. There are some water marks on the cloth cover of the fold out part and a musty smell to the inside of the trunk. The red stripes on the outside of the trunk do have rub marks.

Vintage Shipping Container Trunk Suit Case Carrying Case
For auction is a neat old shipping container or carrying case that is in excellent condition. It is black with brown borders and it is complete with its original plastic handle. At one time there was a leather strap that went from end to end but only the two ends of it remain. It shows scuffs from use and there is a spot on the top where someone had originally applied a piece of tape. I can't tell whether the tape residue remains or whether it took off the top section of the finish. It is not constructed of either wood or metal(other than the bracket. Latches, etc) but rather a very stiff cardboard-like material that is very strong. The three original latches still function and the middle one is made to receive a small padlock. It is 16 1/4" long, 6 3/4" deep and 8 1/2" tall.

Vintage 1940 Louis Vuitton Wardrobe Steamer Trunk
This old trunk is a beautiful example of the Louis Vuitton monogram pattern trunks made since 1896 in Paris. A real classic! This is a wardrobe style trunk that was designed to hold hanging clothes. When stood upright and opened in the center this would be like a personal closet and the clothes rod pulls out to allow easy access to the hanging clothes. This trunk has the original marked wood hangers. The exterior LV monogrammed covering is in excellent condition with only minimal signs of wear.Even the large leather handle is in good condition. This was a high-grade trunk with all brass hardware. Including many brass rivets all marked with the Louis Vuitton name. The demensions of the trunk are 36 x 22 x 12.

VINTAGE SHABBY CHIC INDUSTRIAL RUSTIC COUNTRY WOODEN CHEST/COFFEE TABLE/TRUNK/ BLANKET BOX This auction is for a wonderful.Vintage, shabby chic, ex-industrial, blanket box/ travel trunk/ chest/ coffee table/ box. Measuring 20ins(cms) high x 25.5ins(65cms) wide x 14ins( 36 cms) deep. It is constructed with thick sec tioned plywood and has metal edge protectors on all edges. It stands on four free moving castors and the top is hinged at the back edge with two strong and sturdy hinges. It is finished overa ll in a reddish mahogany colour internally it is plain and dry. There are.Of course, a myriad of very characteful nicks, dinks. Scars, dents, scratches and so on over most of the piece, with paint splashes and a couple of chunks that have been gauged out on the right hand side, but nothing serious and all very characterful. There is an iron ... morehandle at either end and the whole thing is rot and worm free. Very chic and original and a great storage solution as well as a table! The hinges are still strong, the lining is off is spots, the lining is missing in the bottom drawer. Overall, the drawers are in good condition. Vintage camelback steamer trunk with decorative stamped tin on top. Front and sides. This is a small trunk as the dimensions show below. More manageable size than some of the very large ones I've seen. As you can see from the pictures the tin has developed a beautiful greenish patina. All natural and from what I can tell untouched as far as being refinished. It takes a long time to get that type of patina in the metalwork. It looks really awesome. Some original paper still remains on inside. Has built-in casters. Handles are rotted away as most are on the trucks 100 years old. It measures 30"Long x 16"Deep x 19"Tall. Vintage 2 tone blue orange white make up case trunk luggage hand bag travel case This is a vintage i would have to say 1960's trunk measures It is 6 inches deep. 12 inches long and 15 inches wide. Its got two buckle locks and a clasp lock that unlocks like a briefcase. There is a key hole but im not sure if it locks. Anyways a simple push of the button it unlocks. I can imagine this being at a beach party in the early 60's filled with 45's. It's in pretty good shape, the metal exterior, has some scratches and a couple of small dings.a dent on the bottom. The Steele corners has some rust spots along with the locks and claps. The inside has some writing on the top, and the liner is flaking off in some places reveling the wood. But a great little box im sure some one out there will love it.

This a fabulous trunk with a lot of character and promise! I purchased it at an antique dealer in Upstate NY with the thought of trying a restoration on my own. But I've decided to leave that to others more skilled then I. A few notes: The door on the left has come apart from the bottom. It appears only to be using paper for the"hinge" the one on the right is still attached. The crack showing in the bottom is not through the trunk. The bottom of the trunk is metal, that is why I took the photo, it will be only a cosmetic fix. A little wall paper will do nicely. The large inside tray is missing but the supports are there and it would be easy enough to make a new one. It is a solid trunk and worth the effort. It has no odors. No water damage, no mold. Fresh from an upstate New York estate! This offering is for a primitive light wooden box or doll trunk measuring 12" wide. 6 1/4" deep and 5 1/2" high. I believe it to be a handmade doll trunk as I found a primitive"Mammy" rag doll and an old celluloid doll inside(sold separately) but it could have also been used as a glove or handkerchief box. The trunk consists of wood panels nailed together with three narrow slats attached on top and one on the front. The wood finish is richly aged but there are stains near the old nail heads- which only gives it more character. To each end there is a bentwood handle. These look like they were an afterthought to the original construction. The front has an old aged tin lever latch. When the lever is vertical the box is latched shut. When flipped to the left, the box latch is open. ... moreInside the cover is attached a paper picture of a Victorian dressed woman. The bottom of the trunk is papered but the paper is stained and torn. A strap of burlap to the left side is no longer attached to it's nail to hold the cover from flopping back. The only splits in the wood slats are two short edge splits on the bottom. Each is aprox. 2" long and does not affect the structural integrity of the box. Made in Holland Circa 1960 Oak Black metal hardware Carved panels Some veneer issues on interior bottom Very good overall condition, This trunk is a great piece for extra storage in any room and would make a particularly nice looking piece at the foot of a bed. The oak wood and blackened metal look great together. One of the more prominent features on this trunk are the two carved panels on the front. They are well done carvings that depict scenes of eating and dancing. A very merry theme! The oak itself has a medium color to it which is contrasted with ... morethe black metal studs. Handle, and hinges found throughout. There is no lock on this trunk, it never had one and could be considered a blanket box. The exterior of this trunk is in very good condition and was obviously well taken care of. There is only sporadic light wear. This trunk was made in Holland around 1960 so you would expect this type of light wear from a piece of this age. Inside the trunk. The oak veneer at the bottom has come away a little in a few spots, leaving the white color lines you see in the photo of the interior. Nothing structural there, just a cosmetic issue that will be covered up by whatever you store inside the trunk. This Dutch oak trunk with carvings has a lovely look about it. Here is a close up of the two carved panels depicting Dutch celebrations on the trunk. The hinged lid opens easily. Inside there are some cosmetic issues as outlined in the description. Sometimes a trunk like this is referred to as a blanket box. There is a handle on each side. The handles are a lovely plate back. The hinges and studs contrast the oak wood of the blanket box nicely.
