It's unmarked as to maker. I think it's likely circa early to mid-1900s. I believe it's in original condition. It has one interior. Multi-sectioned drawer on hinges(in need of minor repair-see below) It's constructed of walnut veneer with cedar lining, and secondary hardwood(s) The back is unfinished. Wonderful for storage and display or seating, it's both beautiful and superbly useful. CONDITION: Overall. I think it's in nice vintage condition. Solid and sturdy. Only the tiniest bit of veneer loss that I can see: a few tiny chips along the back edge. Minor nicks, imperfections normal to vintage furniture. It does have some flaws: 1) the top surface has superficial scratches and age-related splits in the veneer(but they seem shallow enough to me that I think just polyurethane(were the top refinished) and/or a walnut-tone pore filler would be enough to fill them for a flawless(or nearly so) top. 2) In the interior. Lid, left side, the wood affixing the screw supporting the pull-out shelf is stripped(please see photos; the drawer is just propped in place in the photo) so is in need of this repair. I'd probably suggest filling the oversized hole with wood scraps and glue to fill, then redrilling the hole(possibly a larger screw would work) this is left to the buyer. 3) The locks on these old chests pose a safety hazard to children(won't open from within; children can suffocate inside) and can't be sold with the lock in place. I've removed and discarded it. Leaving just the hardware(for aesthetics) so it simply opens and closes, and can be opened from inside. Antique Henry Likly and company trunk makers Rochester New York. It has the metal tag on center of the top of the lid stating the maker of the trunk. All of the latches work perfectly and it opens and shuts properly n:othing is broken. It is made of a wood and metal Foundation with a green canvas material that lines the outer part of the whole trunk. Both leather handles are attached and secure on either side. All in all this drunk is amazing and would be a great addition to any household decor. This maker Henry Likly is 1 of the best and most collected trunks available on the market. This vintage/antique dome-topped wooden trunk with steel-covered corners and a steel bottom has partial White Star Line stickers on both sides as well as several“ New York” stickers. The trunk has all of its original steel hardware. Including both side handles and casters on the bottom, except for one of the eight metal end pieces on the wooden strips on the lid. The side handles and casters are still functional. The original lid hinges are still present(a few screws are missing) but new hinges have been installed and they are the ones actually holding the lid on. The trunk measures 26 1/2” long. Stands 18 1/2” high and is 15 1/2” deep. It is in good condition. The wooden sides are solid. The inside paper lining has deteriorated quite a bit. I have not touched this except to remove dust and cobwebs: I prefer to keep them"dry" like this and avoid polishing the brass.
