The metal detailing throughout is stunning. The footing I’ve never seen. The latches say“patd 79” and the middle plate says. Patd May 54 and April 73. Hence, this is pre-1880. The inside is rough but it still has all the Victorian inserts! The inserts are in really tough shape, ripped, water damaged but it’s all there. The entire drawer/insert comes out. Size is approximately 32”X25”X14” It’s all original…I won’t even dust it. IT STILL HAS THE KEY AND IT WORKS! And. As always, a few notes from the disclaimer department. Everything is“as is. This item is a very nice vintage antique flat top doll trunk. It measures 18" in length. 10.75" in width, and 10.75" in height. This is a very nice cute doll trunk. I t has all the original hardware. There are a couple of cracks in the wood but hot unusual for a trunk of this age. It has good leather handles. It also has a key for the lock that works. Majestic Unpolished Brass Statue/Figurine - Trunk Up AFRICAN ELEPHANT - Vintage?
Lovely brass figurine of an African Elephant with its trunk held high(for good luck and good fortune! I purchased this item a few years ago at an estate sale with the intention of polishing it for my own collection. Unfortunately. Three years later, I still haven't found the time. I was told this item is from the early 1980's. But the item is not dated so I really can't say for sure. I have found similar brass elephants online estimated to be relics from the 1970's- 1980's. This figurine definitely looks older. So there might be some truth to the date estimation. Truly a wonderful piece with excellent details. The elephant has lovely tusks. Beautifully-shaped ears, and an exquisite trunk. Even its stance is majestic yet commanding. Measures approximately 8" L x 9" H x 4.5" W. Measured at the longest points. ... moreIncluding all appendages The brass is unpolished and in need of a little TLC. This statue. Like most brass pieces, should clean up beautifully and shimmer for years to come! There are some chalky spots visible in various places- for instance. Behind the elephant's ears. Light spotting visible in some areas. But again, it needs a good polish. There is also some sticker residue visible on the belly near the elephant's hind legs. There are a few manufacturer's imperfections(which is common with almost all brass figurines- no brass piece is ever perfect! For example. The'dings' on right hind leg, and most notably the crevice on the inner thigh of the elephant's left hind leg. These issues are best seen in pictures 6. 7& 8. This is a fantastic vintage antique skinny half wardrobe trunk made by Hartmann. I believe it dates to the 1920's-30s. The truck can be unmatched to form two separate sections. It still has it's two keys and is in very good to excellent condition for it's age and use. All the leather is still good and the inside is excellent. The outside has some usual scuffs and scratches. We found some cute vintage soaps and a sexy vintage advertising notebook with a pin up illustration on the cover in the trunk so I will include them in the sale since they've been together for so many years.
