But I am having a really hard time deciphering it, it appears to be someone's name and then a place in New York. The trunk does have railroad transportation labels on both sides of the trunk. The trunk does have some wear as you can see, original front lock hardware is missing and it does have surface loss. Some of the paint has alligatored a bit on the sides as you can see from the photos. Trunk measures 35.25 inches wide by 17.25 inches deep by 17 inches tall. It has labels for New York Central Railroad and Westcott express one side and the other side has a very partial label and from what I can tell it is in French. The front of the trunk may read Hauve(France)New York. I think this is a really nice piece, I think it has a good folk art look to it and great to find it with original green paint. The trunk features a"cushion top" with a fold out hanger system with original hangers. The drawers are all there. As well as a piece that sits in the bottom drawer(see pictured photo) There is also a piece thats used to secure the hangers farther back that is pictured. The hinges are all working however need to be cleaned. The locks appear in very good condition. No keys. These trunks were the very best. Right at the top with Louis Vuitton, Goyard, M. M. Secor, etc. This trunk was one of Hartmann's top models of the time, costing close to $200.that's over $2500 in today's market. Only a well-to-do gentleman or lady would have owned something this expensive and of this quality. This particular trunk is a cushion-top model, and is also gibraltarized, patentened process in order to make the trunk frame very strong. This is all steel-frame construction. The trunk features a velvet cushioned top to protect clothing during travel. All original"unbreakable hangers" a garment bag for clothing worn, all hand riveted, and featered a patented locking mechanism that actually hooks so your trunk would never open in travel. From the hangers to the cloth lining, and cloth ties, this was made for an entire wardrobe to moved about without putting a wrinkle in any of your items. Wonderful Vintage Brass/Nail Head Designed/Wood Bodied Miniature Trunk
This is a wonderful piece of American folk art; it is a wooden trunk that is then"wrapped" in brass sheeting and brass straps( see pictures of the top lid; and then studded with silver nail heads of size; they add a beautiful proportion to the overall as well. I would date it early; 1850-1900 and midwest in origin. The hinges additionally are early; the latch and handles are also original to the piece. I think it is quite delightful. Measures 7 1/2" to the top of the dome; 7" across and 5 1/2" deep. Surface has a great; mellow and rich patina; it's a wonderful example that possibly a father made for his child; as their own special trunk or possibly something he made for his bride to be. Purchased in France at the Marche aux Puces de la Port De Vanves. This Vellum-Colored Cabin Trunk has magnificent European styling. Measuring 29" long, 17 1/2" wide, and 12" deep, it has beautiful maple banding around the entire exterior with metal fittings for added protection. This French Cabin Trunk features 3 original sturdy leather handles, one on either of the 2 sides and one in front. The original metal latches have a wonderful aged patina. Circa 1940's. It is in good condition with light travel wear from use. The interior has a nice original French plaid paper lining showing minor wear appropriate to the age of the piece. I have several hundred of them. The knees in the photo are typical. All the knees and corners in my inventory are the same age so the patina is constant. If they would benefit your projects, I have some with minor surface rust that wipes right off with Never Dull. It does leave spots and unique markings when wiped off; actually very pretty that way. These knees are perfect for building Steampunk furniture.

Rare Antique Maier Oak Slat Beveled Top Trunk, Vintage, Restored, Tray & Key!
Here is the trunk for your collection! This beautiful rare trunk was made by Martin Maier& Company of Detroit from the 1885 to 1895 period. Based on the actual dates of manufacture of the hardware. If you see a trunk with this type latch it was not made in the 1870's as many other sellers state. Because they were patented in 1882 and used into the late 1890's. I do extensive trunk research. Size: 30" wide. 22 1/2" tall, 20" front to back. A fabulous rare size, great for many uses! Very few Martin Maier slat trunks are found and even fewer flat tops with the beveled corners such as this one. This style was advertised in one of their catalogs as a"Rustic" trunk covered entirely with hardwood slats. Superior quality and based on the Excelsior trunk patent of 1868. Which most people now call Oak Slat Trunks ... moreor Victorian slat trunks. Maier established his trunk company in 1865 after serving in the Civil War. This special trunk is not common in any way! Martin Maier& Co developed their distinctive narrow slat alternating color style trunks and they are very hard to find in such good condition. These are made of hardwood strips of oak or elm and another darker wood, over an all wood body. These trunks were made to be impressive and were more expensive to make than the ordinary metal, leather, or canvas covered trunks. That's probably why they are so rare today. The special corner"lid stay" hinges are marked Pat'd April 1879 and were patented by Martin Maier too! The front catches were patented in 1882. All of the trunk's hardware is in good condition and the wood has no breaks or missing wood. No sand blasting, sanding, or polyurethane coating has been done on this trunk exterior as some other restorers do. The trunk has a very smooth finish, which is hand rubbed tung oil, the finest antique furniture finish. The interior is also beautiful with a large Victorian chromolithograph, and the Maier label! This is a great vintage small suitcase. It's classic mid-century modern! The surface is a linen look blue with blue edges and handle. The inside is blue fabric lining. Elastic pocket at either side. There are ribbons on the bottom to tie your belongings in. There are small straps on the lid, I'm guessing there was a mirror originally. The back of the suitcase is wider than the front. Description Up for your consideration is an Drucker and CO. Steamer trunk from the 1800's. I believe they made these to use as shipping cargo containers for the big ships. And I was told that the tar type of finish may be the original coating(no it's not sticky) The hardware on this trunk is fantastic as far as detail! There are some places on the trunk that have deteriorated through. Please see photos. I would however consider this to be a great peice to have, considering the quality of the build. Vintage Wood Trunk White Star Line
Rare Vintage Trunk with some Very Interesting Impressions. It is Stamped White Star which I assume means it was used on a White Star Ship. It is Painted and has several flowers painted on it as well. The Patina is very old and looks to be done when the box was made or very shortly after. It is stamped with several words I cant decipher with the exception of"White Star" and the Lot Number. There are some worm holes in the bottom but the chest is very sturdy and in excellent working order. The clasps are tight and easy to use. Vintage steamer trunk Circa 1915.any insight would be appreciated Louis Vuitton Measures: 40" x 24" x 28" This trunk spent most of its life in Key West and found its way to Colorado where it has been stored for the last 20 years. The humidity from key west has lent itself to corroding the nails that hold the interior fabric and have bled into the fabric as well. There is some waving to the LV logo decor on the outside left This beautiful piece has castors/ wheels on the underside. I do NOT have a key for the trunk This piece would be awesome as a coffee table or by itself. This is such a big trunk you could store most anything in it.old linens. Comforters, pillows, books, etc. A great statement piece. This would be great as it sits or a beauty restored. The trunk opens/closes well and the latches latch as well. The lock hasn't ... morebeen tested as I don't have a key. It may have had a monogram on each"handle" side. see yellow faded squares) or maybe this is residue from old travel stickers? Buttons. Latches, hinges and leather straps are marked. The lock doesn't look to be original hence not marked. The leather security strap is too short to latch to the buckle. This is a wonderful auction for two BELLE snoopy dolls. They are both plush and have been played with but have no tears or spots that I can see. The first one is larger and measures about 10 inches in sitting position she is almost 14 inches when stretched out. She is wearing a red shirt with a"B" on front. The little doll is about 10 inches tall. This auction contains clothes for both dolls. First is a pink vinyl trunk with Belle's name all over it to hold everything. The clothes have all been worn but are still in very good preowned condition. There are two Belle pink dresses. One red raincoat and one red dress with bloomers.
