Vintage Porcelain Elephant Toothpick Holder Bud Vase Trunk to Mouth Weird Paint
This is a porcelain Elephant toothpick holder or it could be used as a bud vase. It measures 3" from head to tail and is 2 1/2" tall. It measures 1 3/4" wide. The opening on the top measures approximately 3/4" in diameter. The painted design on the outside of the elephant is weird. I don't know if it is complete or if this is the way the artist intended it to be. The trunk does not curl up and out. But does curl up to the mouth. Vintage Wooden Trunk "The World" in Leather/Vinyl/Wood/Velvet **AGE/Origin? UNK
Up for auction is a Vintage Wooden Trunk"The World" in Leather/Vinyl/Wood/Velvet* The AGE and Origin at this time is unknown. This trunk measures 24x14x14 inches(external) A hat is placed in one of the photos to show scale. I'm not the original owner. Only an individual reseller. I've only had this item for about 2 days. Externally it is made of a photographic fabric that appears to be a vinyl or leather of some type. More on this later. It is apparently held down with glue and genuine leather accent trim. The accent trim is held down by metal stud/rivets. Much of the leather has lifted away but is all still intact present. There are also two very thick leather strap handles affixed on both sides(length) These handles are all very much intact and offer maximum usefulness. There seems to have been a hasp or some other locking ... moremechanism. But is no longer in place. There is one hinge on the inside that is in very good condition. I can support the lid in the open position half way all up to fully open. Inside the trunk is a very pristine velvet/ felt liner. It is wine/ burgundy in color and is clean and immaculate as if never used. In fact this trunk has probably been shut/closed for so long that I had to pry it open. As far as the main picture material. It does appear to be leather. The theme is a continuous map of the world with photos of wildlife(mainly Africa) It is in mint condition throughout the outside of the box and has not peeled away, been ripped, deteriorated, nor discolored in any location. This material extends throughout and also the main surfaces and also the internal edges leading to the velvet interior. Thanks for visiting this auction and for reading all of this. This is a Lovely Original Antique Steamer Trunk. Offered at a Low Start ~ With No Reserve* Made of Waxed Canvas on Wood. This is an unusual Steamer Trunk, being Taller than the normal Trunk, which has Super Details. With Contrasting Corners on the Beech Runners. And a matching Central Stripe. The Runners and the whole trunk are studded with Brass details. I have Spent time restoring the Trunk to it's former Glory. Leaving just enough of a hint of Character, that only years of Travelling can bring. To the Edges are Beautiful Brass Bindings. With Two Locks and a Central Catch. Which work well, although one lock is a little sticky, and the catch has the opposite problem, but the lid of the trunk holds happily. The Lining is one of the Best I have seen, and even rarer, it has a removable dividing section, which can be swivelled to make a shelf. This is a heavy duty gauge steel trunk with an all metal body including the metal bottom and with the wooden inside. It measures approximately 32" x 8" x 10 1/4" tall and that's not measuring the handles. It was very well built it weights about 18 lbs and 10 oz. There are no markings on it who made it. I don't know the age of it. If any one who knows about these can share more info with me about this item, I would greatly appreciate it. Here's a very rare and unique find. A small trunk/ chest/suitcase from 1869. It is covered with leather and it in good condition considering it's age. It has rips. And overall wear, along with looks like some burn marks. The latch and hinges look fine. As well as the inside straps. It measures approx 17 x 9 x 9. Inside depth is 4 x 4. Vintage* Rare* Trunk for a car in the the 1920 or 30s. GREAT SHAPE! ORIGINAL EVERYTHING: exterior covering. Leather straps, handles, buckles, locks, emblem, hinges& interior. See the pictures. This trunk was not used much at all. It has been stored in a clean. Non-smoking house for the past 80 some years! I am the second owner of the trunk and have stored it carefully as well. I do not have the key to the latches but those keys are simple and usually easy to find. The original owner used it in the 1930s and had it attached to a 1931 Chevrolet. The top of the trunk comes up& the front folds down. This piece would be a great addition to any car collector or vintage decorator. The dimensions are 35"long x 17"high x 18"deep. Large Antique or Vintage Trunk. In good condition. Made of wood painted black on outside and has paper lining on inside. Measure 36" wide. 24" tall, 22" front to back. Leather handles on sides are torn off and need replacements. Has metal corners, brackets, hinges, lock. Lock is an'Eagle Lock' with no key included, and unure if it will work. Has some kind of hard leather or hide like material around edges. Has an identification sticker on top which cant be fully read, but is shown in photos. Can only make out location, Newark NJ, and above that the last 3 letters of name'ard' Paper lining on inside in poor shape and metal bracket on inside, that holds top lid from swinging to far back, is broken and needs replacement. Antique/Vintage Large Brass Skeleton Key Trunk/Door/Church Rare 1700-1800s 9
Here is a large Brass skeleton key. Probably a church key or possibly a trunk. Or large door key. This key is hand-made and dates from the late 1700s to mid 1800s, possibly older. The key measures approximately 3" long, the handle 1 1/2" and features a very intricate bit shape and a heart shaped cut out made out of solid brass. The keys I am listing are from the estate of a local collector. I do not see any maker marks. Please check our other auctions regularly for newly posted items.
