Draw sides and back are all oak and not an inferior wood. The interior is all oak. The doors lock but I have lost the key! Currently all the doors are unlocked! Inside at the back somebody cut a hole out. Not sure why that was done but it is there! The only newish part is an interior shelf which is in the main body. I believe it is still solid oak but it lacks the patina of the original. The glass is not damaged anywhere. The marble has exquisite shading and color. With pink, grey and purple variations. It has light scratches on the top and minor tiny chips on the edge as expected for a piece this age. It is not broken anywhere! The carvings are so wonderful with urns. Horns, ribbons, roses, tassels, swags and leaves. Both front panels have cracks on the decoration as seen in the photographs. Very reluctantly for sale! Vintage Deutsch Brothers Pink Sofa - Made In Chicago - Excellent Condition
This is a beautiful American made sofa by Deutsch Brothers Inc. of Chicago. Illinois. This piece is very unique and in near pristine condition. I purchase estates and operate a used furniture store and have not come across anything that compares to this piece. I purchased this along with a another Deutsch Brothers piece from a local estate here in Reno. The gentleman told me his mother had purchased this piece while living in Chicago in the 60's. I guess that would make sense it was made there. There is not a lot of information on the company other than they went out of business due to a fire and bankruptcy. I did however discover a story about Jacqueline Kennedy working with Deutsch Brothers to design a couple of pieces for the White House. Deutsch Brothers was apparently asked to destroy all the fabrics and molds of the pieces but from ... morewhat my research tells me, after Mrs. Kennedy left the White House, they took it upon themselves to start producing more of the pieces that she commissioned. So the only piece I found that resembles this piece is currently sitting in the Music Room of the White House. Very cool I think. In the photo of the White House also appears a chair that is the same design as the chair I had with this sofa. Although the fabrics are different. The design is the same. I am not sure how many of these pieces they produced like this before they went out of business but these ones in the White House were the only ones I found that match them. Deutsch Brothers did manufacture larger sofas and other furniture similar to this one. With my research, I am pretty sure this sofa was probably made sometime between 1964 and 1965. I’m almost certain this was done by Danish Deluxe of Melbourne. It has the date stamped underneath on a label that’s almost completely faded- it’s 1968 or 1969. I’d say this may have been an authentic Danish design that Danish Deluxe had the license to produce. I have not come across this exact design in over 11 years of being in this business- ... moreto say it’s rare is an understatement- I’ve come across over 5 million different pieces of furniture but this is the first of these I’ve seen. The quality of this piece is exceptional. It’s heavy. Solid and very strong. Just one aspect of the design that epitomises the quality is the latex cushioning in the seats. Latex is one of the most expensive cushions money can buy. In my opinion it’s the best- it’s spongy but dense so it’s incredibly supportive and it’s more durable than any cushioning I know. This lounge is over 45 years old but the cushions are all still in amazing condition. This is also one of the most stunning lounge designs to come out of Australia. I love the boldness coupled with the peaceful flowing lines of the curved armrests. And the fabric is sensational. Earthy. Slightly retro, there’s a little bit of interest in it but it complements the frame perfectly. It allows the curves and timber to take the attention- the fabric nestles in the background but when you look at the piece closer it then attracts its own attention. My family is the original owner of these pieces. This furniture is approximately 25 years old. Some of those years it was in storage. It has been very well taken care of. The frame is still good. I believe it is made out of oak. It is all solid. Don't believe any of the legs come off. You will need a 36" door to get this in and out of. The upholstery is worn. But still very good. There are some snags in the furniture. Our home is smoke free. We do have two ragdoll cats. So there may be fur on it. It is just the couch and love seat with the 3 small pillows. Local pick up only. Vintage Victorian Wood and Velvet Sofa/Settee for Bleuette Size Dolls
This is an absolutely gorgeous Victorian sofa/settee for your favorite dolls or bears! I do not know the age. Place of manufacturer or type of wood. I have had it for over 20 years and it was originally bought at an antique mall. It is all wood with hand carving and turnings of the cabriole legs. The velvet is a dark blue/violet with an impressed design. There is fading on the seat and wear over the arms exactly as when I bought it. There may be some slight unevenness of the finish on the wood, there is a run on the back and possibly a scuff or rub but nothing major. However this is a used item. It is 19" wide at the widest part on the top and 11 1/2" high at the very center top. It is the perfect size for Bleuette or slim Asian BJDs and maybe up to other 18" dolls. I am moving again and am unable to take this sofa with me. The sofa is in all original and excellent condition. The bottom is spring supported. Cushions are original fabric. Wood is in very good condition. There is a slight paint scuff mark on one side that could be removed by a professional. It is barely noticeable. Vintage tufted suede & chrome mid century sofa
This sofa by Stow Davis is in original mint condition. We believe it may have been designed by Robert Haussmann. The original upholstery is a gorgeous dove gray real leather suede. The three cushions have suede on both sides and only one side of one cushion has a stain on it(which you can see in the photos) that is really an area someone wiped it with a wet rag that could likely be restored if you absolutely wanted to. Measures 32" deep and 26.5" tall and exactly 7 feet long. You can seat 3 on it very comfortably. This sofa has never been in a smoky environment and is impeccably clean and odor free. The suede goes all the way around the back and I have taken photos from every angle so that you can see there is no hidden damage. One small hole in the back corner is shown in a photo. The hole is less than 1/8 of an inch and barely ... moreshows. The original chrome base is gorgeous and completely perfect. Sofa in in barely used condition. No stains. Two seat cushions do have clips to keep them in place. There are no labels or stickers anywhere to indicate who the maker was.
