The piece is in amazing condition, with very ... morelittle sign of wear at all. There are a few small areas on the ornately carved back where there have been some small repairs to the ornately carved areas. There are a few light surface scratches to the finish from general use, but it has been very well cared for, and is in amazing condition. I am unsure of the exact age or manufacture of the piece. It most likely dates to the middle to last part of the 19th Century. It does have some cracking in the front writing surface of the desk, but these areas are superficial thus far. The desk is made of what I believe is mahogany, and has ornately carved accecents on the vitrine shelf supports which are done in reverse scrolls.

This roll-cylinder secretary features a wonderful ... moreheavy carved crest, and dates from the 1880's. It comes with three original shelves that are adjustable behind the wavy glass doors. It has burl walnut panels coming down both sides, heavy crown molded top and a crest with big ball finials on each end. It has a commode base with three drawers and a door. The only thing I don’t like about this cylinder desk is that the finish is light, similar to a cherry, but it is walnut wood. It has the original heavy bold brass hardware, and is in really nice shape. The pull-out writing surface has green felt on it. When you open the double panel cylinder roll, it reveals a simplistic double drawer interior that is simplistic.

Here is a great vintage Newbery of Los Angeles Electric Corporation perpetual/ mechanical desk calendar. You spin the disks on the base to change the day and month and you turn the date over by rotating it and the next date appears. It is very well made because the numbers are made of metal and not plastic or paper. Measures 3.5" tall and the circular base is 3.5" wide. Please review all pictures. But the triangles pointing to the numbers are very clear. There is a spot in the plastic ring at the#3. I say a spot, because it does not feel like a crack. There is a nick on the very bottom of the phone on the inside edge so it is not noticeable unless you turn the phone upside down. There is a"Loud" switch to make the ring softer or louder.
