This is an old hump Back Dome Top style Steamer Trunk. As far as I can tell. It is all original. The original paper lining is intact alng with the wood tray. The tray does have a half-moon shaped mouse chew at one end(see pic) The underside of the lid has the original print. It measures 30" Wide x 21.5" Tall x 16.25" deep. One the exterior. Very nice vintage hump back trunk. It appears to be very old. I believe it is all original and all the hardware is present to my knowledge. Both straps are missing except part of one strap although not attached is inside the trunk. There is some slight surface rust on top metal. I did not try to remove it. It show signs of use but is still in pretty nice condition. I do not have the lock but all the latches are there and it opens without a lock. I think the lock is original but not sure. Please view all pictures and ask questions before bidding. Due to size this item is pick up only. About 30 miles south of Cleveland Ohio. Antique steamer trunk Hump back Dome lid child size chest Tin wood or cardboard
This is bigger than a doll trunk I think. But smaller than an adult size, so I think it was probably for a child to use while traveling or for storage. 20" wide, 12 1/2" tall and 11 1/2" deep. I think it has a this layer of tin with a faux wood grain patter on it and that is either over cardboard or wood. The chest is not super heavy, about 9 1/2 pounds, so it is probably a combination of both materials. Please use the pictures to determine condition. You can tell this was used and it is showing its age. One side has the remnants of what looks like was a leather handle, but the other side does not even have the metal parts of that handle. There are some rivets missing, one of the latches on the front side is missing parts and none of the three seems functional. One of the hinges on the back side is painted green. The tin covering ... moreis scuffed and dented. Still, overall condition for its age, is not really that bad. The lid opens and closes easily and the whole trunk is still solid, not wobbly. I don't have a tray or a key for this one.

Stored owners important papers and item was wrapped in March 23. 1952 Newspaper that is in pristine condition. No smoke or pet but is a bit musty. Lock was pride open but can be re bent into shape. Lock is missing guts but closes shut tight. and cannot see damage of lock has two heavy duty clasps to keep it shut tight also. Corners all but one. Is in excellent condition. one corner is dented in) but adds character. No rust or other damage other than scratches on black metal on bottom and a few on top. Does not take away from charm. Also has a side leather handle in excellent condition. Interior is paper lined. in Pristine condition. no tears or stains. Would make a great décor piece. or coffee ... moretable. since its heavy metal and black.

Antique Old Chest Dome Trunk (Steamer) w/ Shelf / Embossed Tin (Grecian Design)
Beautiful antique chest/ trunk dating to around 1890. It is slightly domed and ornately decorated with a beautiful Grecian pattern embossed tin. It still has original shelf. Two latches work and hinges are secure and operatable, nice size to compliment a room and to store those living room blankets. It does have its flaws as one would expect. Two castors are missing. Leather handles of course gone and although it still has most functionality, it is old, the wood has aged(crack in top, but still solid as supported by metal, tin and wood support"things" but should be primarily a decorative piece with moderate storage use. It still has good integrity, just would not want the kids making a fort out of it.Also, the metal is dinged in two places on top and the tin is missing a small(quarter size) spot on top at far rear and is damaged ... morein back(please see pictures) Otherwise the metal is good antique trunk condition, as it is in original condition. It could be refurbished, but considering current appeal, factoring cost it just doesn't make sense. It's 130 years old, we want it to say I'm old, but still good looking. I acquired this wonderful Ideal Shirley Temple doll wearing a white/ red designed ruffled dress, white socks and black shoes. Also has 3 other outfits. Shirley measures 16 1/2" tall. The metal steamer trunks stand 18" high and 8 1/2" wide. It is pink& white with teddy bears and has a drawer inside bottom. It is from 1972 and is valued at $225.00. All is in very good condition, the trunk does have a couple of minor scratches. Trunk is by Cass Toys. A lovely collectible.

This trunk comes with original key and superbly made lock which still locks. Original keychain has an engraved nameplate from the original owner in Portland. Connecticut. On the opposite side. There is a masonic symbol engraving, WSSTKSHT in a circle. Original wallpaper and leather secretary attache are in great condition for age. Has typical wear for age. As shown, both original handles are present and are all there and functional. Appears to have had some original strapping that is no longer there.
