It measures 36 inches long by 24 in ches tall with the lid closed by 20 inches deep. It features a remova ble storage tray and more linens. Beddings. And clothing can be placed underne ath for conv enient additional hu ge storage. It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. So you may want to grab it quick, before it is gone! Note: Not shipping overseas nor to Alaska on this one. Only to domestic United States. This is a one of a kind find. This gem is all 100% original. As shown in the photos This unique trunk is over 130 years old, with normal wear.The key is missing, but has the original wood tray. All of the tin looks to be in very good shape with a wonderful patina. The hinges, lock and corner latching mechanisms are in perfect working order. Measuring 24ins( 61 cms) high x 24ins(61cms) wide x 18ins(4 6 cms) deep. It is a traditionally constructed'sailor's' chest with a pine body, having part iron banding and corner protectors with brass studded wooden batons. There is an old iron handle at both ends and a central clasp and lock. Internally it is still lined with the original paper lining and has a removable half height divider in the middle. This chap has been around since before the Boer War and! Originally it was canvas covered. This has now been removed and the underlying pine has been prepared and waxed, as have the batons and brass studs. There ... moreare.Of course, a myriad of very characteful nicks, dinks and scars. Dents, scratches and so on over most of the piece and some of the metal work is missing and/or battered with remanants of paintwork on it, but its all characterful! There is a repaired.And now solid, small hole at the back by the right hand side hinge, the screws in the hinges are replacement ones, there are one or two woodworm holes from some long since deceased worms and there is no key for the lock. Also the internal paper is tatty, scuffed and torn and badly stained, but still dry and perfectly usable. For as accurate a representation/description as possible. I've never seen a metal trunk before and when I examined it more closely I saw the English registry mark on the latch along with double lion imprint. See photos. The trunk has bright blue painted interior(probably not original) Measures 24" length by 17" wide and 16" tall. One side is missing the 2 bottom metal straps and there are 2 holes on the bottom side where the screws would have been in place. 34 1/2" long x 21" wide x 23 1/2" tall- outside dimensions. The label on the top reads"The Sesqui-Centennial Trunk Line ~ Philadelphia ~ The Workshop Of The World ~ Where Good Luggage Is Made" It appears to have have had some type of blue substance spilled on it and there is a noticeable amount of it still remaining- I think it gives it an appealing effect. The Excelsior lock is bent- no key. The latches work properly- the leather end handles are broken. Most of the exterior is good and shows wear- the bottom has some tears. WWI Army Aircorps Soldiers Foot Locker* World War 1 Steamer Trunk Produced between 1916 and 1922 by Belber Trunks This particular trunk belonged to a young man who registered with the United States Army in 1916 His name was A.J. Dagenais(Arthur Joseph) When he came home from the war. It was to Laconia N.H. I researched this American Soldier as much as I could. It looks like he was held as a P.O.W. But was later brought home alive. I believe. According to the information that I found online, that he was buried at Arlington. I don't know if the info is 100% accurate, but I did spend the time, and If the info that I found was accurate, Mr. Dagenais was a very brave young man. I have had the trunk for a while. And really hate to part with it, however, It would be best if it went to a home where it could be more properly displayed. It is nearly ... more100 years old. And has markings of many traveled miles. It is structurally in fantastic condition. And has all of the metal trim, lock, etc. The leather straps are original and intact The black paint may be original paint. As there is some peeling. You can see where the stickers were. There are plenty of scratches. Dings, and dents, and it has that fantastic old smell. Not mildewy, but old. Like old wood and books. Its about 31" Wide. 12 3/4" High, and almost 17" Deep The story of the soldier has taught me quite a bit about the war. And I hope that the next owner will be able to gain something from it as well. All of the men who served in that war are now passed. But their stories live on.

The oak slats were used and came off of an old steame r trunk that could not be res tored. They are in good condition but could use a good cleaning. Nearly every old trunk catalog and ad says that the slats were hardwood, but they don't say oak. Several trunk catalogs and other historical documents I have specify that they used ash and elm on nearly all trunks. So, if you want to be more historically correct you could include this. Antique 1870's LOUIS VUITTON Rayee Steamer Trunk INCREDIBLE LOW SERIAL #6379
Brand- LOUIS VUITTON 100% Authentic Style- RAYEE Steamer Trunk(Rayee is French For Stripe) Country of Origin- FRANCE Date Range- Louis Vuitton started using the striped canvas in 1872 until 1888 and considering the Low Serial# I would say it was made in the early 1870's Historic Serial Number- Amazing Very Early# 6379 as seen on the Original Sticker which was Never removed for any reason. Note: In January 2013 a striped trunk very similar to this one(but in better original condition. Sold in the UK for $58 K, w/ serial#13502 Interior has been Stripped of the original Canvas interior Although Some Remnants Remain. Including a swatch of the exterior Stripe canvas used for the outside, And Most if not all of the"Tacks" used for the tufting in the lid are still present. The interior would be very easy to restore, but I decided not ... moreto alter or add to it. The flat inside slide hinges are original w/ no issues. There is no moisture damage or odors present. Exterior- Wood/ Black Leather Trim/ Brass Hardware.I believe this was a Higher end model at the time as the hardware is All Brass vs. Iron and it was trimmed in Leather. Obviously the Original Rayee striped canvas has bee removed. However nothing was removed in order to do so, as you can still see canvas remnants under the slats and around hardware. A light coat of lacquer was applied to bring out the beauty of and to protect the wood. I would not think this would be a negative issue if it were to be restore to the original look, as the canvas would cover most of the wood and steel wool could gently remove the rest. Or otherwise it is a Beautiful show piece as it sits or a wonderful candidate for restoration Condition- This Trunk is Structurally Solid and I believe all of the hardware is original. While the only thing I do not know for sure is the corner guards. As early as this was made they may have used these for a short time. They are however old and look completely appropriate. This auction is for an ultra-rare. Antique Louis Vuitton Damier steamer trunk! This trunk was produced somewhere between 1888-1896(the time frame of the Damier pattern) The Damier patterned trunks are some of the rarest and most desirable of all the antique Louis Vuitton trunks! A majority of the canvas has been removed but the remaining canvas(on the inside areas of the lid) appears to be the more rare RED& WHITE on brown color combination as opposed to the light brown and dark brown patterns. The serial number on the lock reads 03845. The wood of the trunk is structurally sound and the clasps. Lock mechanism, and handles all seem to be in good shape. Goyard Hat Box Steamer Trunk The inside has four ribbons used for tying down hats before a voyage. Dimensions are 20" wide. 13.5" high, and 18" deep. I have not applied any cleaner to the stain on the top, which appears to be an adhesive from a shipping label that was left on too long. Slightly musty odor. But not very strong. One inch long shallow cut on the bottom. Edging all around feels like hard plastic. Not soft leather. The lock on the front is unlocked and has the number"34" with no key. Vintage Travel Wardrobe Steamer Trunk Nice and Clean
Up for auction is this very nice Vintage Steamer Trunk it is in good condition considering it's age. It does not have any name on it that I can see. It has on the leather handle some indentions of words but all I can make out is R-407. The lock has Everlasting lock D63 but the lock is broke which could be replaced. I guess it wasn't everlasting. There is a little water damage on the inside please look at photo's 3&4. This is a great way to store your special things you want to keep.Thank you and happy bidding. Antique Seward Steamer Trunk/Foot Locker
This old guy is a rare find in that it still has most of the original teal green color still prevalent. It is 30" Long and 12" Tall and 16" wide. It is metal all around with spots a rust and the bottom has rusted through in two small spots. Both leather straps are intact and they are original. No key for the lock but it will still open without one.

The interior features compartments and drawers, and a hanging section. The Trunk was made by Victor luggage especially for Robinson& Co Ltd, The Singapore Store. See below) These were Luxury and quality when made, very substantial and heavy trunk. Could also be used on it's side as a great coffee table or for interesting storage anywhere in the home. Traditionally used in the early 20th century for transporting luggage on long stays such as boarding schools or trips. I believe that this was once owned by an actor who may have been travelling in the Far East as I discovered unusable face paint etc which has since been discarded. Inside. This item has lovely drawers with ornate handles ... moreand has five hangers present all in fantastic condition. Condition: In good overall condition with various marks and scratches from age and use. There is some paint which has been scawled on the outside(or is it face paint? I have not try to remove it from the leather I will leave that to the new owner. The central lock is no longer but the catches all work fine. Vintage or Antique Hartmann Tourobe Wardrobe Travel Steamer Trunk Suitcase
This is an antique or vintage Hartmann Tourobe made in Racine WI travel wardrobe trunk. Trunk measures about 35" x 20" x 12" This has been used. There are surface scratch/rub marks on the outside of the trunk, the leather handle is broken off, the closures work but there is not a key to lock them. Trunk is has markings on the end that say Lt. Comdr. Johnstone MCVS U.S.N.R. on the end and a sticker that says Gibalterized. The Hartmann Tourobe Racine Wi sticker is intact. There are travel stickers attached to the outside and a tag that says Railway Express, Inc. War Won't Wait, if that helps to date it. This outside is black with metal, and not sure what the main material is, maybe a pressed wood. The inside is blue with 3 compartments on the fold down side, 2 of the compartments have cloth ties, the top cloth part folds ... moreover and snaps at the end, snap pieces are intact. The other side has 2 wood hangers and the metal pieces that hold the hangers fold in to hold the hangers and can be folded out when the trunk is opened. There are some water marks on the cloth cover of the fold out part and a musty smell to the inside of the trunk. The red stripes on the outside of the trunk do have rub marks.

Antique trunk flat top steamer with all original parts except handles and endcaps with original wood tray. This trunk has been recently refinished and is in mint condition. It has been stripped. Cleaned stained and has 2 coats of laquer. The wood is slick and smooth, you will not find many trunks with as smooth finish as this trunk. Physically it is in good condition but obviously it has been used through the years. Measurements, left to right =L 30 1/2" front to back=D 18 5/8"from bottom(floor) to top of trunk=H 21" Tray measures L 28 1/2, D 16 5/8, H 5 1/8. This trunk weighs 39.6 pounds. Vintage 1940 Louis Vuitton Wardrobe Steamer Trunk
This old trunk is a beautiful example of the Louis Vuitton monogram pattern trunks made since 1896 in Paris. A real classic! This is a wardrobe style trunk that was designed to hold hanging clothes. When stood upright and opened in the center this would be like a personal closet and the clothes rod pulls out to allow easy access to the hanging clothes. This trunk has the original marked wood hangers. The exterior LV monogrammed covering is in excellent condition with only minimal signs of wear.Even the large leather handle is in good condition. This was a high-grade trunk with all brass hardware. Including many brass rivets all marked with the Louis Vuitton name. The demensions of the trunk are 36 x 22 x 12.
