You see the condition, she definitely has character. The bare wood was once covered with a heavy type decorative paper, most of that is gone but you see some remnants of that in places. The original label was found in the trunk. It belonged to a gentleman in Escanaba Michigan. Maybe you can reincorporate the label back into a repurpose project(maybe lacqure it onto the top side? There is leather and metal construction incorporated into this little trunk. The leather handle is broken and the leather straps are gone with just some of their remnants being in place. The trunk is still 100% solid. This trunk will make a killer repurpose project, you just need to use your imagination, is it a small table, a small storage trunk for a big city loft apartment? But I am having a really hard time deciphering it, it appears to be someone's name and then a place in New York. The trunk does have railroad transportation labels on both sides of the trunk. The trunk does have some wear as you can see, original front lock hardware is missing and it does have surface loss. Some of the paint has alligatored a bit on the sides as you can see from the photos. Trunk measures 35.25 inches wide by 17.25 inches deep by 17 inches tall. It has labels for New York Central Railroad and Westcott express one side and the other side has a very partial label and from what I can tell it is in French. The front of the trunk may read Hauve(France)New York. I think this is a really nice piece, I think it has a good folk art look to it and great to find it with original green paint. Very Old All Original Flat Top Steamer-Type Trunk
We have an old. All original, not restored, flat top trunk. Approximately 35 1/2" wide, 22" tall and 19" deep. Circa late 1800s to early 1900s? Great shape! These are very popular as coffee tables and hope/storage chests. The leather straps and handles are gone and the top has one area where the fabric is ripped. RARE 1920's LOUIS VUITTON LV Monogram 3/4 size Travel Steamer Trunk
A very rare antique Louis Vuitton coffee table sized steamer trunk from the 1920's. It measures 43"x 21 1/2"x 12 1/2" and has the monogram pattern. Matching LV hardware/nails& is 100% original. The interior is in very good condition with no tears in the quilted silk patterned top. Inside is very clean& original. It is missing the tray insert. The original Louis Vuitton paper label is intact and not torn. The serial number is stamped and very clear-189939. Unique orange dyed triangles are in the corners of the top(see photos) Vuitton did this to differentiate similar trunks while the owners were travelling. The trunk has a few scuffs but is in excellent condition. All of the runners are complete and undamaged. Lock stamped with serial number 036566. I know very little about this trunk. I found it in a foreclosure here in Vegas. It is ROUGH. I can send more pics if you need to see certain features. It was definitely a cool looking trunk when it was new. The bottom is the worst part. See pics. I am taking a stab at the price, so don't shoot me if it is too high. it is large and pretty heavy. Shipping might be possible but I am going to list this as local pickup. Picking it up would be a good Las Vegas vacation excuse. Here is a newer type of trunk liner paper. This is a classic pattern that we have used during our restorations. A prepasted paper. One double roll measures 20 1/2" wide and is 33' long. This lot is for two new rolls and one open roll with at least 10' remaining. This is more than enough liner paper to finish 2 average size trunks and one insert. Antique Domed Small Trunk All Original 1800's 18x11x11 Steamer Chest - COOL!
This is an 1800's small sized domed trunk. All of the compartments are present and still look great. Exterior shows typical wear. There is a pencil written price of $1.50 on the bottom. The pics make this look like a typical big cumbersome trunk but it's actually much smaller with exterior measurements of 18x11x11 inches. Definitely more practical and would serve any room of the house well. I've seen thousands of big trunks but never one this size.

Beautiful Vintage Bassett Steamer Trunk - LOCAL PICKUP ONLY
This is a beautiful vintage steamer trunk by Bassett. In great condition. Dimensions are approximately 20x23x39. Outside handles are intact. Minor scuffs on exterior. Interior is a gorgeous blue with original wooden clothes hangers. Thin suitcase attached at bottom for smaller items. Set of four drawers, one partitioned inside. Bottom drawer features a snap-in item that we believe is for potpourri, to keep the trunk smelling fresh(very cool addition that we haven't seen before) Metal bar slides up to prevent drawers from opening in transport. Smoke-free home. Picture shows masking tape marks that previous owner used to keep the outside lock from closing and locking. The tape and residue has since been removed. Vintage Pleasant Company Samantha's elegant Victorian STEAMER TRUNK with three heart-shaped HANGERS in Very Good Used Condition. This trunk dates from a late 1980's- early 1990's Samantha collection and is in beautiful condition for it's age. The brass plated hardware does have some very slight tarnishing from normal handling(see photos) The gray Cordura covering is in very good shape with a few very light scratches(see photos 9& 10 for examples) The inside paper is in great condition- no major marks and the glue is holding up well. The inner drawers are all in good shape but the shelves do slide out a bit when the drawers are pulled open. They could be glued into place to prevent them from moving. The ribbon is in good condition. The only issue that will need some TLC attention is the hanging bar has become unattached ... morefrom the ceiling of the trunk. It looks like it was originally glued and stapled. But the glue broke free with age. There is no damage to the area where it became unattached, so should be an easy fix with the proper adhesive. Antique SCHUNEMAN & EVANS steamer trunk-St Paul, MN- early 1900's-by Indestructo
I am offering this antique steamer trunk from Schuneman& Evans in St. Paul Minnesota. This trunk was owned by a wealthy Minneapolis couple and was shipped over to Europe for a vacation in the early 1900s and was shipped back to the US from Europe after the vacation with a trunk full of expensive. European clothes. I am listing some of the clothes found in the trunk as well) The trunk was made by Indestructo in Indiana and there is a serial number found on the metal tag on the trunk, which was used to track down the owner in the case of loss. The trunk is in very nice condition for it's age. There are four hinges on the back side of the trunk and all are intact and working. The" clasps" used to close the trunk fasten well. There is another mechanism between the clasps and I'm not sure what it is and have not tried to ... morefasten it into place. The leather handle on the top of the trunk is broken as shown in the photo. There are appropriate scuffs and scratches on the surface of the trunk as one would expect from a trunk that is from this era. Inside is the half of the trunk that was used to hang clothes. This side has a cover as shown. the other side is drawers used to store smaller items. Some of the pulls are missing as shown. There is a separate compartment with a purple silk( I think) covered holder for one's favorite hat and this is in excellent condition( Please see photos) The drawers have a white powder in the bottom. I'm not sure if this powder was put there as a talcum powder or if the surface of the drawer has deteriorated so just a heads up on that. The trunk is 23.5 inches wide and 15.5-16 inches deep. It is 43 inches tall and it is extremely heavy. This will need to be picked up, if you have a desire to see South Dakota where I live or it can be freighted. Based on what this was used for, it could probably be freighted with the clasps secured as this was a heavy duty, well made trunk from a very exclusive company and is obviously very high quality. Up for sale is this antique/ vintage turn of the 19th century flat top steamer trunk with heavy duty ornate hardware in excellent antique condition. This beautiful trunk would make an excellent coffee table. Or would look great at the end of a bed or in the bedroom as a night stand. This VERY sturdy trunk measures approximately 33" long by 19" wide and 18" tall. This trunk shows normal wear from age as pictured, but as you can see this"patina" actually enhances the antique beauty of the piece. 100% Original. Overall it is in good shape. On top in the middle, there is a marking reading EST- MADE IN U.S.A-1893, DURABLE trademark, and underneath that, A.LERCHER NEW YORK. Steamer trunk This is a great looking trunk that would make an ideal coffee table. Internally it is very clean and doesn't have the slightest smell of must. Externally It is in great condition except for a paint run to the front, you can see it in most of the pictures. I think it could be removed with thinners or similar as the finish on the trunk is like a sort of vinyl or similar material but I thought I'd leave that to the buyer. European made- This trunk is covered in brown canvas and has a flat top with hardwood runners and reinforced brass corners. Would make a jazzy coffee table or store prop. This double lock Oak banded trunk Circa 1890-1910 were a newer generation of the older. More solid trunks previously made. The wood was thinner, and instead of wide wood slats, they used half round oak banding.
