What's so cool about this ... morewardrobe trunk is that it has features that so many of the other wardrobes you see don't have or they're missing! Also. It was restored approximately 20 years ago and is still in good condition. You may want to repaint or reline the trunk to make it your own, but you don't have to worry about a bunch of repairs because they were already done. For example, the metal trim was not brass and so it was painted. It could easily be repainted to suit your needs. As for the unique, original features, the trunk includes: a wooden ironing board, metal bracket for iron, a pull out holder for the ironing board, 6 wooden hangers- one of which holds a cloth laundry bag, a removeable wooden box(holds shoes.lap desk? and 4 drawers- among other features. It's missing the outside lock and original leather handle(handle was replaced with a strong leather buckled handle) The key to the inside lock, the narrow flat bar that slides in front of the drawers, and some material behind the drawers. Some of the material is faded. The hinges and drawer pulls are secure and in functional condition except one outside latch(this doesn't prevent the trunk from closing tightly. The metal rods that hold the hangers extend out to hold the ironing board and are easy to slide in/out. All the drawers are lined with material and are in good/clean condition. The top drawer is divided into three compartments and is in good condition. The two middle drawers are in good condition too. The bottom drawer is deep and has a shallow pull out tray which exposes a cool feature. The feature is a sphere shaped cloth form that straps to the side of the drawer with leather. The original leather is still in place and functional. But somewhat brittle. My guess is that a hat could be pinned to the form to keep it safe for travel. But I am having a really hard time deciphering it, it appears to be someone's name and then a place in New York. The trunk does have railroad transportation labels on both sides of the trunk. The trunk does have some wear as you can see, original front lock hardware is missing and it does have surface loss. Some of the paint has alligatored a bit on the sides as you can see from the photos. Trunk measures 35.25 inches wide by 17.25 inches deep by 17 inches tall. It has labels for New York Central Railroad and Westcott express one side and the other side has a very partial label and from what I can tell it is in French. The front of the trunk may read Hauve(France)New York. I think this is a really nice piece, I think it has a good folk art look to it and great to find it with original green paint. The metal detailing throughout is stunning. The footing I’ve never seen. The latches say“patd 79” and the middle plate says. Patd May 54 and April 73. Hence, this is pre-1880. The inside is rough but it still has all the Victorian inserts! The inserts are in really tough shape, ripped, water damaged but it’s all there. The entire drawer/insert comes out. Size is approximately 32”X25”X14” It’s all original…I won’t even dust it. IT STILL HAS THE KEY AND IT WORKS! And. As always, a few notes from the disclaimer department. Everything is“as is. The drawers lock into place and are lined, wood on the outside. The top drawer has a key lock(not included) When you pull out the drawer, there is a leaver that you turn which unlocks the other drawers. The wardrobe side includes the hangers shown(5) and the top opens to ease in getting the hangers out. the metal slats for the hangers to slide out as well, however the right one is hard to push. Has a fabric cloth to cover the clothes from the drawers. This is a large heavy truck, but in pretty good shape for it's age and the number of trips it has taken over the years. The top(picture 6) shows the rip in the fabric. Has two tags on it. First is the Hartman Trunk co, Racine, WI. The other is on the corner and says Wasseman's, Grand Rapids, MI. That means this trunk went from the United States to Germany, then to Scotland and back to the United States. Measures 40" tall, 22" wide and 21 1/2" deep. Shipping is quoted with UPS. Antique Vintage Wooded Trunk Chest Steamer Humpback Rustic Cabin Decor
Up for auction is this beautiful wooden trunk. This is smaller in size than the much larger once that are usually listed. It overall dims are 26" long by 14" deep(front to back) by 13" tall. It comes with the key but the lock is missing. The face plate is there so it isn't affected cosmetically but the lock assembly is gone. Very rustic looking chest. The wood is very light weight like Cedar but the knots give it the look of Pine. The crack across the front gives it a great look. The channels and groves in the wood are from bugs and worms and give it one of a kind characteristics. Awesome in my eyes. This definitely has that Pirate Treasure Chest look going for it(except for the red lining inside of course) Very sound and sturdy yet looks to be made long ago. Pictures tell the story. Primitive ANTIQUE MINIATURE DOLL STEAMER TRUNK Victorian Dome Top 1880's
This is a cute antique. 1800s, miniature dome top streamer trunk. It was an antique doll trunk. It is wood covered in paper with black leather around the edge. The handles are also leather however one is missing. It shoulkd be easy to replace as the are just held on with small nails. It has small hinges on the back and an old latch on the front(which does close) It has a pretty picture on the inside of the lid showing two young children in Victorian dress. It has the original tray however someone has replaced the bottom of the tray. The wood is not very attractive and if I was keeping I would replace with a thin plywood if I didn't have an old piece of wood that would work. It measures 10 3/8" long, 5 3/4" wide and 5 1/4" tall. Antique Circa 1890 Jenny Lind Stage Coach Steamer Trunk With Inner Tray
Up for consideration is Antique"Jenny Lind" old Stage Coach Traveling Trunk or Steam Trunk. It has the inner tray. This item is in original aged condition at present-These trunks look simply beautiful when restored and polished up. Item is structurally sound and made of oak and pine covered with a leather exterior with steel bands going around it. It has brass buttons and a old iron lock face on the front. The leather handles are missing on the ends and the lock is non-operational. And without a key. When we found this item it was full of old personal items. Bonnets and papers. The bottom was lined with the paper shown in the picture. It was published in Jackson Ohio in 1894. Item measures 21" long and 13" wide and 13" tall and has a bread Loaf Shape Good Luck bidding and may it find a good home to rest.

The same text is present on the leather label inside the trunk. On the middle lock it reads"DEPOSE" The leather straps have the writing"H. Borda. Rue S Honore, Paris" impressed on them. Finally. The letters"K. E. T. are written on both sides of the box. With bronze or light brown rust patina colored hardware. You can use this item for its original purpose. Or you could use it as a coffee table. Condition: Antique. Solid and can be used as it is. Both handles are gone. The exterior has several cosmetic marks, scratches, and scuffs, normal for a used and antique trunk. The metalwork has a general oxidized rust patina. The back surface has a couple ripples in it. The lock works fine with the key to open and close. The interior smells musty(like an old trunk, rather than like mildew in my opinion) and needs to be aired out and I would spray it with Febreze and let stand. The till is quite worn. The bottom is loose in places, and the lid's back hinge(which was probably just fabric) is gone, so that the last owner turned the till around and let the leather front straps act as a hinge(the middle one of those is missing the snap) The interior lid surface is bowed down and cracked some. And it deserves a real use, which I'm not giving it. I had another like it which I gave to my daughter, who loves it. The light rust can be cleaned up, if you wish, with some fine steel wool, and the wood can be oiled, or all of the chest given a coat of clear varnish. It is very good solid condition but does have age related wear. It has been in a closet since the 1950's after it went to South America. It measures 32" long x 22" deep x 13.5" high. The inside has a tray and is good solid condition. The original handles are on each end and it has two original keys. The bottom is rust free. It is clean, and comes from a smoke free estate home. Civil War Era Leather Deer Hide Skin Travel Trunk Stagecoach Chest Steamer Texas
This is a great old piece of folk art. I bought it from a lady who bought it at an antique store. She told me that it was Civil War era and that it is covered in Deer hide. She said that she lined it with fabric after she bought it. The leather is embossed with what makes me think of a Texas Star. Plus there are other decorative embossed accents. As you can see from the pictures some of the leather has come loose and it is ripped. Some is worn almost to the wood, on the back there are some water drip marks and as you can see plenty of inconsistency in color and wear. I do not know if the sides originally were covered but they are now exposed wood. Amazingly, the leather buckles are still intact and operational but it appears that a latch is missing front center. There are some exposed screws on the back where parts of the leather straps have ... moredeteriorated. A couple of rivets are missing. There be maybe other pieces missing, for example there are no handles on the sides. It opens and closes easily and seems to be a solid and sturdy structure. I think it is a fantastic decorator piece for a home, store or set, as well as a really cool piece of history. I cannot say I've ever seen another like it- especially with the embossed designs on the top. Delion measures about 17 inches wide by 14 inches deep and 15.5 inches tall This is a great historical piece that was designed to accommodate extremely fine hat(s)A Delion Chapeliers an important manufacturer and retailer of some of the world's finest hats in the 19th and 20th centuries. There are stamps(glued on paper) documenting the travels all around the trunk- more than I had room to upload photos for also many spot where the other stamps have come off It has the original handle that has come off the top. The handle itself is ripped and the strap that holds it down on one side is also missing. It definitely shows its age and use with discoloration and stains. The top looks as though something were spilled on it raising the finish of the leather? as it feels rough to the ... moretouch. The inside of the trunk is lined. I believe all the tie down straps are intact. You can also see the wear where the inside back hinges are- it still opens and shuts fine but there is break through of the lining and materials. Corners show wear as do the sides throughout the inside and out as this was definitely well used item. The handle is stamped A. DELION. PARIS, 24 BOULd DES CAPUCINES We dated the trunk by the address on the handle. I believe A. Delion operated out of this location at one time. We know that this was before 1905 as the address 24 Blvd des Capucines is one of the 4 Grand Boulevards of Paris so it is well documented. In fact. One of the most famous actresses of the 1800's, Mistinguett lived at that address from 1905-1955 which is how we dated the box to the late 1800's. Inside the trunk is marked DEPOSE which means that registered or copyright so I assume the brand and style of the trunk were registered. This beautiful medium sized Dome Top antique trunk. Is in Good condition, with only minor flaws. It measures 18"H x 26 1/2" L x 14" W. The exterior is stunning. Covered beautifully in a black colored tin. With oak slats, accented with black tin hardware, and a nice brass design, that is very desirable amongst collectors. Both side leather straps are in original condition. All of the hardware is original and no longer fasten. There is no key. The inside is beautiful original wood. Found this unusual. Beautiful and untouched Leather, Iron and Wooden Victorian Era Dome Style Steamer Trunk at a local sale. A huge trunk measuring 36" wide. 30" tall and 23" deep. Decorated with hand applied tacked leather all around, ornate iron and wood, this trunk was made for folks who traveled far and for many weeks or months at a time. A TRIPLE LOCK system is evident on the front, designed to keep their worldly possessions safe. On each side of the trunk there are remnants of labels that provide a visual history of the famous places that this trunk traveled to. There is a label for a hotel in Paris. A label for a baggage cabin on a Cunard Line steam ship, and most interesting.a label for the St. James Hotel in Jacksonville Florida. Selling a rare Victorian decoupage steamer trunk. This is a very unique piece and I have never seen another one like it. The trunk is pretty large piece measuring 40 X 23 X 22. I use it as a coffee table and have had a special piece of glass made for the top. the roller wheels are still functioning and the only defects is one missing closure clasp and the other one comes off easily. There is shoe storage compartments with ties. The interior show little wear. There is a handle that is broke. I know little about vintage trunks. The tapestry is in very good condition.
