It measures 36 inches long by 24 in ches tall with the lid closed by 20 inches deep. It features a remova ble storage tray and more linens. Beddings. And clothing can be placed underne ath for conv enient additional hu ge storage. It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. So you may want to grab it quick, before it is gone! Note: Not shipping overseas nor to Alaska on this one. Only to domestic United States. The drawers lock into place and are lined, wood on the outside. The top drawer has a key lock(not included) When you pull out the drawer, there is a leaver that you turn which unlocks the other drawers. The wardrobe side includes the hangers shown(5) and the top opens to ease in getting the hangers out. the metal slats for the hangers to slide out as well, however the right one is hard to push. Has a fabric cloth to cover the clothes from the drawers. This is a large heavy truck, but in pretty good shape for it's age and the number of trips it has taken over the years. The top(picture 6) shows the rip in the fabric. Has two tags on it. First is the Hartman Trunk co, Racine, WI. The other is on the corner and says Wasseman's, Grand Rapids, MI. That means this trunk went from the United States to Germany, then to Scotland and back to the United States. Measures 40" tall, 22" wide and 21 1/2" deep. Shipping is quoted with UPS. Old advertisements for this ... moretrunk can be found from the 1918s! This trunk is close to 100 years old! The hinges on the lid are still in good condition and workable. The flip-down locks on the front are stiff but open and close well. The center lock no longer works- looks like someone had to"break and enter" as it is slightly bent and the lock mechanism is missing. There are heavy leather handles on the side that are still in very good condition. Above these handles are eye hooks to attach and hold the trunk still. There are decorative rivets holding the steel in place on all the edges. It looks like a few of them have been replaced over the years. All the outside hardware has rust on it. The black outside material is canvas-leather like. Not sure what it is but there are some rips and showing underneath is wood.There are small holes on the sides and bottom. Maybe this was used for bootlegging at one time? It looks like the bottom could have been nailed down to something as there are small nails that stick up on the inside. Neat old black and white wallpaper type material on the inside of the lid and in the three cubby-holes on the right side. Very spacious measuring approx. 29" long x 15" high. The largest space on the inside measures 24" wide x 11" Each of the cubbyhole spaces measures approx. 4" x 3 1/4 to 3 3/4" with the center space being the smallest. The inside is lined in a canvas type material. I will say there is a very strong mildew smell on the inside. It is dirty inside too- this is definately in need of some TLC! It looks like someone added leather and snaps to the inside of the lid to hold things.the leather is light colored and newer looking. One of these straps is broken. The original leather strap that holds the lid open is scuffed and worn but still works for the purpose. Overall this is a nice vintage trunk with a condition commensurat

Antique Steamer Trunk / Writers Desk
Up for sale is a unique item. I used this as a waitress station in my restaurant. It is an antique steamer trunk. That someone long before me converted into a writing desk. The trunk portion is pidgeon holed with small drawers, while the front folds down for a writing surface. The top still opens to reveal the tray, which remains hidden when the top is closed. I forgot to get the measurements, but I would approximate it to be 28x28x12 I could be wrong, this could be all original, but I dont think so. If anyone knows more about it please let me know. Refinished Dome Top Victorian Steamer Trunk Antique Chest With Straps & Buckles
Nice Refinished Antique Dome Top Steamer Trunk With Straps& Buckles Here is a nice refinished arch top or dome top steamer trunk from around the late 1800's to 1900 or so. We purchased this one already finished by someone else. We didn't really like the way it was when we received it. So we went ahead and finished it out a little bit better. This one has a combination of fancy embossed metal which is in a leaf and flower pattern on the top and front. The rest of the trunk must have been paper which they removed to expose the wood on the sides and the back. The wood appears to be pine and the outer slat boards look like poplar. Here are the trunk's dimensions: from left to right across the front is 32 inches. From floor to top is approximately 20 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 17 inches. The front latches were ... moremissing on this trunk, so we put a pair of Amish made leather straps with roller buckles up the front and across the top where the latches should have been. These straps with buckles hold the top secure to it's base when buckled as would the latches if they were there. The wood appears to be finished with a couple of coats of clearcoat. The metal has been painted in a couple of different colors. The fancy metal looks like a silverish color while the cap metal on the slat boards have been done up in gold leaf, and the flat metal is in black. The lock looks to be original. It is not in working condition because the top part that goes into the lock mechanism is missing the engagement part. The lock probably works, but it will not fasten to anything since the top part is missing that engagement part. We did receive this trunk pretty much the way it is and simply gave it some improvement. The side handles were not on it, so we have put on a pair of Amish made black leather stitched straps. Going to the interior, the paper lining has been removed and the wood has been finished with two coats of polyurethane. The bottom has been covered over with a new bottom which has been fastened

Leaving the character that only a real antique trunk would accumulate over the years intact. The original canvas was in too bad of shape. So it was stripped to reveal the beautiful pine underneath. The outside has also been sanded. Cleaned and sealed with a satin finish for preservation and protection as well. Latches are in perfect working order. the lock can only be locked with the key. Vintage Louis Vuitton LV Steamer Trunk& Suitcase 1900s 2 Pieces Monogrammed It is my pleasure to sell these authentic vintage Louis Vuitton trunks. LV trunks are highly collectible but the stories behind them make them all unique and sought after. These are from the late 1800s to early 1900s. They have been together for years and I don't want to seperate them. These belonged to my client's uncle. He was a Superintendent in the building 1115 5th Avenue. New York NY. The story goes that he was given these by a resident. He never used them or traveled with them and passed them on to his neice. The original owner of the cases traveled first class on the Famous SS United States Cruise Liner from New York to Paris as indicated by the stickers. I don't know if it was the maiden voyage. I do know John Carradine traveled on the ship but I can't say these are his. There were a lot of very famous people that lived in the 1115 5th Ave Buidling as well as those that traveled on that ship. The smaller case measures 28 X 17 X 8.5. It has the LV Sticker inside 149 New Bond Street, 70 Champs Elysees Paris. The serial number on the lock is 071745. The larger case. Steamer trunk is 44 x 21.5 x13. This one has the initials DTA in red and has the Paris stamp from the US Lines and the First Class H stamp on it. The serial number on the lock is 045509. I've included a brief history of the ship below. You can buy additonal items from the ship right here on Ebay as they were auctioned a few years ago. These case would make a great coffee table. Bedside stands or just a fun display piece. They are in quite good condition. They have not been exposed to smoke and are clean smelling inside. Wardrobe Steamer Trunk circa 1920's
This old wardrobe steamer trunk is from the 1920's era. It no doubt carried clothing. Documents, and treasures for fellows like Gatsby himself or a passenger on the Titanic. An original nail file was found tucked away in one of its drawers waiting to be found by generations later. The 8 drawers are linen lined. And I think the briefcase is as well. The top of the wardrobe area opens up to reveal a majestic deep purple velvet material. There is a lever behind the drawers that keeps the drawers from opening up during transportation. The trunk closes but the lock is broken and does not latch. This is an original steamer trunk and has scratches and signs of normal wear and tear. This steamer trunk is a great addition to any room. Fancy Refinished Flat Top Steamer Trunk Antique Chest With Straps, Key & 2 Trays
Gorgeous Refinished Antique Flat Top Steamer Trunk With Straps. And Buckles, Working Lock& Key and 2 Original Interior Trays Here we have a very unique flat top steamer trunk from around 1900 or so. Out of about 1500 trunks that we have refinished. This is the first one that has triple straps running up the front and across the top. This one had originally come with three straps going up the front and across the top from the factory. Obviously we have replaced those three straps with Amish made leather straps, running them where the original straps once were. The center strap can be tucked under a piece of leather on the top if you don't want it to come down over the lock. We have made it that way so you can display your trunk with the lock showing instead of being covered by the third strap. We did want to include the third strap ... moresince it is the first trunk we have ever had with three straps. It just makes it more complete by putting the strap that covers the lock on this trunk. All of the black strap keepers or hold downs that you see on the front and top of the trunk are the original ones which we have painted black. This trunk is made up of poplar base wood with oak outer slat boards. We have finished the wood with three coats of polyurethane by Minwax. The wood has some typical older distress marks which include older nicks and dings along with some areas of discoloration to the wood on the slat boards. This one doesn't have hardly any stress cracks in the wood which is quite unusual since most trunks we refinish have stress cracks. Here are the trunk's dimension s: from left to right across the front is 32 1/2 inches. From floor to top is 23 inches, and from front edge to back edge is 20 1/2 inches. This one comes with the original signed working lock. It is signed, Corbin Cabinet Lock Co New Britain Conn U.S.A. We have matched up a key that does work in this lock. Peanuts Gang Steamer Trunk. Mid-70s. Made by Armored Luggage. 30x16x12" Trunk is mechaically in great shape but has a moderate amount of wear. The lock is missing its core. Trunk opens, closes, and latches cleanly. Top is bent in maybe 1/2" I removed some of the surface rust on the hardware but left most of the rest of it untouched. Inside is a bit musty as all old trunks are. This is a very nice child's or salesman sample trunk. It measures 10" by 6" And is 5" tall. It is all metal. The hardware is brass. One handle, as shown in the pictures, is torn, but it is all there and could be easily reglued. The inside is in very good shape also. The lock is marked Eagle Lock Co. Terryville, Conn.The finish is I believe tin litho, in black and opal, with a hint of pink in it.It is in good shape, the only wear showing on the top. No key. My family came from England in the late 1800's but the history of US Trunk Co.I believe dates this to be the early 1900's. It's green wood with metal corners and does need some work but appears to be all original as is. There is no key. The dimensions are 30"L x 17"W x 13"D. This item is a very nice rare vintage wooden flattop steamer half trunk. It measures 24" x 18" x 20. Trunk companies made these small trunks as samples to display the workmanship and the hardware that could be used on the larger trunks. These are very rare. We have been restoring trunks for 17 years and this is only the 4th one we have seen. It does have some small cracks on the top. It has the new leather handles. The latches are in good working order which close securely. It has very heavy hardware with 3 hinges across the back. For other destinations. Please email for a shipping ... morequote. I call this a strap type trunk. Because leather straps would have encircled it in two places. The straps would have buckled at the opening. You can see the leather strap retainers that are still in place. If you want, you can have someone who works leather to make these belt-like straps for you. The top is studded. This is quite unusual in that I've never seen it before myself. It no doubt gave the top some protection from other trunks that would have been stacked on top. I think it is quite a good look. The hardware on the front. Specifically the latches are quite ornate and show that this trunk was made back toward the Victorian era when everything was onamental in design. I figure this trunk was made in the early part of the 20th century and spent a lot of time on railroads and maybe steam ships(the labels certainly bear out the railroad part) Notice the heavy use of studded rivets all along the corner protectors. This shows the quality of the trunk and like the studded top. Improves the overall look. The lock was made by Eagle Lock(see condition note below) I suspect from this that the trunk is American in origin(no makers mark was found on it) Underneath a

c1914 Authentic Louis Vuitton Steamer Trunk, All Original, Labels, One Family
This is a true vintage authentic Louis Vuitton trunk. It has been in my friend's attic since 1925 and before that was used by her mother"E. L. M. before she was married. The trunk has the initials of her maiden name on one end overprinted by the stenciled"MV" for her last name after she married. My friend is 86 years old. There are shipping labels on the trunk from travel about 100 years ago. This is a complete steamer trunk with the fittings that allowed it to be used as a closet on a cruise liner or in a luxury hotel. The trunk has four casters on the base and is missing one caster on the end that swings open when it is used as a closet. It has original hangers on the rack on one side and bins for shoes and underthings on the other side. The top bin contains a shoe brush and cloth and a vintage tag for shoe repair. It ... morealso has a muslin laundry bag. It shows the appropriate scuffs from use. It is marked lavishly with Louis Vuitton tags. As well as the logo on the outside. There is the serial number"040783, Made in France" on the lock and the serial number 192713 inside the suitcase. It is clean and does not have any smells or damage other than the missing caster. It is 43& 1/4" long, 21& 3/4" deep and 21& 3/4" tall. Shipping costs will be determined once the trunk has been purchased. It is about 90 pounds and very large so will need specialty shipping. I am including $400 for shipping within the United States but that is only an estimate. The last Louis Vuitton trunk that I sold on the internet was sent to The Netherlands. Was much smaller and the shipping cost was $728, so I expect that overseas shipping will be in the neighborhood of $1,500.

Antique Dread-Naught Steamer Wardrobe Trunk Luggage Chest Steampunk Storage
Here we have an incredible hunter green wardrobe trunk made by the Dread-Naught Luggage Company of Petersberg. Virginia around the 1930's. The interior has been completely recovered in a stunning ivory/ cream satin fabric. It has a locking mechanism for the drawers in addition to the exterior lock and the keys are included for both. The exterior has the wear and tear you would expect for its age and the leather handle is worn and torn as well, all of which add to its antique character. The top latch is off, but we have it; someone who is handy could probably easily re-attach it. The lower latch and lock keep it securely closed without it. VINTAGE STEAMER TRUNK - CIRCA 1920'S - 1930'S - WONDEROBE SEWARD
This is a upright Steamer Trunk by"Seward Trunk and Bag Company" The plaque says"Wonderrobe" Estimated that it was made during the 1920"s or 1930's. The original trunk color was olive green but has changed over the years to a soft brown. It has all of its accessories including the hat form that snaps in and out to hold a fashion hat in place which was a bonus during it's day. There are six hanging racks. Two for dresses. Two for coats and two for slacks. They are held in place by a stabilizer bar. The bottom of the left side of the trunk has a pop out drawer. The top drawer is sectioned and has the lock but no key. The top of the trunk lifts to allow easy access to the racks. See photo#5. Two of the drawers have the tie down straps to hold clothing in place. The lock is missing as well as the leather handle. ... moreAll of the metal(brass? edges are in excellent shape. No dents. No missing bullets and it has all of its corner pieces. Most of these trunks are missing the leather handle but I do have the handle which is not attached. All of the hardware is in good condition not rusted or broken. The main lock is missing. The only damage is to the top which is cracked mostly on the edge which lifts up. see photo#8) The fabric on the drawers shows some wear but just to the right edges. See photo#1. For your information I received this trunk from the woman we bought our first house from 38 years ago. She told us that her husband traveled across the ocean with all his belongings in this trunk. He came over to the US to marry her. They lived in the house for about 50 years so this trunk is at least 88 years old with a history. Up for your consideration is a rare antique Hardy valise. Steamer trunk This is a super Rare antique STEAMER TRUNK. ALL ORIGINAL made by HARDY LEATHER CRAFTSMAN, European made. I have tried to research HARDY CRAFTSMAN and can't find much. Seems to have been a British Co that was know for super quality leather work. Not so much in trunks though. I had a couple Trunk" experts" tell me this is a trunk made in the same style as the famous LOUIS VUITTON trunks. And was probably from around the turn of the century( 1900) or early 1900's It has a pull down drawer that I have taken pics of. It includes 2 original wooded hangers. All of the trim is brass colored which does have scratches. The Brass tone Latch/ Lock is is in working order. I have no key. Condition: Overall very solid and great for display standing upright as we used ... moreit. Or setting down as the previous owner had it. The condition is good. The interior is very good. All snaps are present and work. There are no rips or tears. All pieces appear to be present. The exterior could use a good cleaning although the fact that it is not cleaned is what creates its absolutely wonderful patina. It is missing the handle but all buckles and latches are present and they work. It does retain its original makers tag. Few places there are some dings. And some of the fabric has minor discoloration as could be expected for its age, but overall still very good. Don't pass up on this one. It is a very Rare item. Antique Steamer Trunk Dome Top Embossed Metal Hardwood Slats
We recently purchased this attractive antique steamer trunk at an estate sale. It has a very slightly domed top and it's covered with embossed metal in a floral design. The trunk still has both of its original leather handles and they seem to be pretty sturdy. It measures approximately 30 1/2" long X 17" wide X 19" high at its highest point near the center. The tray for the inside of the trunk is missing. The hardwood slats on the trunk look to be in good condition and all of the metal and wood on the trunk is all held in place with brass plated tacks. The bottom of the trunk is covered with black metal and 3 hardwood slats that have done a great job of protecting the trunk over the past 100+ years. There are four(4) tiny metal wheels near each corner on the bottom which makes it easier to move around on any hard flat surface. ... moreThe key is missing for the old brass lock and we're not 100% positive that the lock is functional so it will arrive open. There are two(2) hinges on the back that hold the lid securely to the bottom and there are two metal clasps that keep it closed tightly in front, one of these is bent and does not close properly, it will need to be repaired. There is quite a bit of surface rust on all the metal on the outside of the trunk but there is no rust through and there are no holes visible. The inside is clean and dry and it retains its original paper lining. Most folks like to remove the old paper, sand down the interior and then either seal the wood or line the trunk with cedar, this eliminates any lingering musty odors and makes it a nice place to store blankets or seasonal clothing at the end of your bed. Trunks like this are becoming very difficult to find and eventually I'm sure they will be extremely rare. Their uses are many and will only be limited by your imagination. Medium Size Antique Steamer Trunk
This is a really intriguing medium sized trunk. I bought this at an auction with a couple of other trunks. After I got it home and inspected it a little closer. I realized that I nor anyone else had noticed something. The trunk is partially covered with sheets of copper on both the front and the sides. It has discolored to the point that I wasn't sure but with a little bit of ketchup, on a small spot, the bronze shine started to come through. The back of the panels(which are hard to see unless you look closely) are still very shiny. I don't do any restoration work but with a little elbow grease, this is a diamond in the rough! The trunk does have some flaws.both handles are gone as are the latches and the top part of the lock. the bottom of the lock remains. the top is bare cedar wood so I can only assume that the entire trunk is ... moremade of cedar as well.
