Well proportioned and finely embellished tea tables we've ever carried, this is a rare and exceptional work of art. The top is a solid plank of mahogany with the rim scooped from the solid in a smooth curve. Projecting softly over the frame, the deep scalloping of the apron just dances and flows, greatly lightening what could easily be an overly heavy apron in the hands of a lesser artisan. The top affixes to the frame with original pine blocking, the underside of the top being inscribed illegibly. Almost certainly of Irish origin. Though possibly of British origin with Irish influence, this table remains in simply outstanding condition. Preserved and original in every way, this selection is sure to delight the most serious collectors of fine English furniture. Measurements: 30 1/4" wide x 19 1/2" deep x 27 3/4" high Condition Report: Some sunbleaching. More notable to one shell carved side than the other three sides- this side likely was facing forward. Finish preserved under later layers of wax. Light losses to edge of one shell, though the front remains crisp and well presented. Lip of top is patched in one section with a 4 5/8" long patch. Separation at one joint revealing the tenon joinery inside. All glue blocks are original, one missing, eight reglued with carpenter's glue in the last decade. Underside is inscribed illegibly. Up for Auction Today Late 18th Century Federal Mahogany Double Pedestal Dining Table with Significant Historical Value 99" x 55" Documented to have been in the Col Issac Franks Home(Now known as the Deshler-Morris House) in Germantown Pa during George Washingtons stay there in 1793 to escape the Yellow Fever Epidemic in Philadelphia and again in 1794. This Table has been in my Family for over 100 years and was purchased by my Grandfather. George Arthur Plimpton in the G L Pendleton Auction in 1897. It was passed to my Mother and then to me. Colonel Issac Franks Grandson. George W Huffnagle sold this Table to G L Pendleton in 1885 and Pendleton to My Grandfather. I have a Letter from George Huffnagle to Pendleton describing the articles which he purchased from him detailing the account of George Washingtons stay at the Franks Home ... morewhere this table originated. I have a transcript to that letter below. The house was built in 1772 by merchant David Deshler. And a mere five years later it was in the middle of the raging Battle of Germantown. British General Sir William Howe occupied the house after the Battle. In 1793 the Yellow Fever epidemic swept through the capital of Philadelphia. And people from all over the city sought refuge in the country. President George Washington and his cabinet escaped the Fever in Germantown. Washington lived and conducted business from the Deshler-Morris house. At the time it was the Franks House. As it had passed to its second owner, Colonel Isaac Franks. Naturally is from England and is in very nice condition for usage and its age. There is No veneer on this table.totally solid oak throughout including its two drop sides. The table is from a friend of a family who has passed on and had nothing but excellent antiques and owns an 18c homestead. The table is authentic and I guarantee it. It is sturdy and very good looking. The top has some old stains on it and little imperfections consistant with its age and character. However I left it alone and would not have anything sanded out or stripped. It is minimal and adds to its beauty. The top and the whole table have wonderful patina. Vintage Old GWTW Oil Style Parlor Hurricane Large Hand Painted Table Lamp EC NR!
For your consideration today is this great estate sale find of a vintage large GWTW style parlor lamp. The lamp features large hand painted roses designs surrounded by green leaves. The hand painted designs cover the entire front side of the lamp and the backside is undecorated. The colors are a light purple pink color against a creamy white background. The condition of the glass is great for its age no chips or cracks. There is very minor paint wear if you look closely but nothing that affects the display. The only real thing to mention is tiny flea bite nicks and roughness to the fitter end of the large top shade. These are expected and of course do not show on display. The lamp is being sold as found and will need a light cleaning. The lamp lights the three ways top. Bottom, or both at the same time. The ornate shade ring has holes for ... moreadding dangling crystal prisms if desired. I have shown this in pic 10 however there are no prisms included in the auction. The lamp measures 24" high with the top shade in place, 14" high to the shade holder, and 8" across the widest part of the metal base. It will measure taller if you add an interior glass chimney. This lamp did not have one when I purchased it. The lamp is in great working condition with the original cord and non-polariazed end plug. The only markings are on the bottom of the metal lamp base Faulkenstein and some numbers. See pic 11. Due to this lamps large size it must be shipped in 2 separate boxes. This adds to the shipping costs but it is the only safe way to ship an item this large and fragile. 9 Foot Solid Maple Bakers Table
This 9 foot long. One of a kind piece has been completely restored including the drawer that was missing from the original. It was originally manufactured for the government but spent a good portion of it's career in Cheesy Eddy's Bakery in Rochester, NY. The rich patina of those years remain a part of this pieces elegance. The top is solid 3 inch maple and has been treated with beeswax and mineral oil so it is safe for food preparation. The storage shelf is solid inch and a quarter maple and rest on four hand crafted maple supports specifically made for this piece. The sway was removed over the summer while it stayed immersed in wet towels in a wet kiln and then completely sanded to a smooth finish. Antique 1920s Art Deco Table/Desk Lamp In Need of Restoration
This is an amazing antique 1920s lamp in need of restoration. As you can see there is some paint loss to the peach/pink and a few cracks near the bottom. I believe it is made of brass but not sure. I have never seen brass crack like this. I didn't bother putting a bulb in to see if it works. The original cord has been replaced sometime within its 80-90 years of life but the new owner would probably want to replace the bulb holder as well. It's a nice smaller size measuring 11" from bottom of bulb holder down. The base measures 5.25" diameter. Make sure to view all of the pictures as they are part of the description and ask questions before bidding if you have any.

This is a stunning sculptural coffee table in the style of Paul Mayan and Milo Baughman from the mid century. It is unmarked but looks like a pyramid base of Paul Mayan's which you can find on 1st Dibs. It has flat stacked chrome plated steel bars which are strong and sturdy(screwed not welded) with some age appropriate marks. as seen in the picture) It is part of the patina and very unnoticeable unless close up. With Pie Crust Top, England, c.1780 Starting with the top. Note the magnificent single board with beautiful striping. The wood chosen was to show the beauty of mahogany and this piece certainly was well chosen. Also note the desirable pie crust edging is not attached, but a feature all carved out of the same solid board. Also, note the very strong stop-fluted column, with a lovely carved ring at the base of the shaft. The carved knees are beautifully worked and quite large in size. The paw feet are well done and reminiscent of the same type of carved foot on another table in our collection( ... moreThey were probably made in the same shop. And both are of the very best quality. The overall tone of the entire piece exhibits a warm yellow brown rich patina. The condition is excellent. It has an old repair where the lock was broken out. And a patch set in to reattach a lock. The battens were probably moved a little as the screw holes probably loosened up and were reset just off the old screw holes. The top of the bird cage has had a thin veneer placed over it, no doubt to adjust for spacing and stability of the top. This type of housekeeping is often seen in tables like this as they were used for generations. Most importantly, this table has no breaks or replacements, and is otherwise in fine condition. Although this table is English. The connoisseur will recognize that it has the real look of a Philadelphia tilt-top table, which, if it were, would have at least another zero after the price. American Queen Anne Cherry Candle Stand[Antique Side Table] Federal Period. Late 18th Century c. 1790-1810 Item# 130010AQS26 This is an absolute treasure. A very fine American Queen Anne Candle Stand crafted during the late 18th Century in the New England States- almost certainly Connecticut. The form is simple but excellent, the octagonal top in two boards of solid cherry with a recessed molded edge framing the smooth and undistracted grains of the top. The underside edge of the top is chamfered to lighten and even sharpen the shape of the top against the eye. Highly successful, the table floats with exacting proportions and absolutely no excess. Supported over a precisely turned pedestal, this swells only softly at the middle in a turned ring, based and crested by a multitude of rings before it tenons into the solid cherry cleat under the ... moretable top. The cleat too is bevelled along the edges and affixed to the top with a set of original and untouched hand filed steel screws. The table rests over three ogival legs, each tenoned into the base with a small dovetail and capped with an original tri-form bracket with untouched original screws still holding it firmly in place; the legs snake along in a smooth taper in plain toes, two of these repaired due to weakness inherent in the design. A neat little row of chip-carved impressions circle the base between each leg. With a dry and highly attractive surface under old layers of wax, the patina is finely preserved and quite nice. Pleasing in every way. This handsome table is a very fine acquisition for any serious collector of American furniture- remaining in nearly untouched condition, it will be cherished in your collection for a lifetime. A VERY LARGE VINTAGE LINEN HAND EMBROIDERED BED OR TABLE RUNNER WITH MONOGRAMS
An unusually large vintage runner which is hand embroidered with daisies and has a crochet edging. It is also embroidered at each end with monograms. One end is'AER' and the other'SAR' The runner could be used on a large table, but would also look lovely at the end of a bed, as a bed runner. It is 98" 248cm) x 30" 76cm) including the 1" 2.5cm) crochet edging and is in very good vintage condition. But has a small group of what is probably laundry marker spots on one side. Top of table is 10" x 9 3/4" Condition sturdy but there are two maybe water stains on finish located on top table and on the underneath of the top part of table I am unable to find any chips or cracks in the wood. I believe this to be oak but not positive. It was a table top but now more of a trivet. Still a nice piece and measures 13 5/8" across and 7/8" thick. The lighter color on the piece is an antiqued gold tone. The ring around it is black and the 4 points are a dark green. What a great estate find this is! Available is this Vintage table top Antique Brass Noon Signal Cannon sundial. The barrel does stay in the upright position. I inadvertently rtook photos without showing that. Rumor has it at noon, the glass lens would direct a beam directly on the touch hole of the cannon, causing it to fire(like an alarm clock! The powder hole is not open, so theoretically it will not work. The base measures approximately 12" in diameter. This item will ship within two business days after receipt of payment.
