Pexto Shear with table 0296-2 - Throatless Bench Shear
Up for auction is a used hand-operated. Bench-top metal shear. I really know very little about this, and the only identifying information I can find on it is the Pexto logo and the number 0296-2 cast into the body. Searching their website, I see a similar, modern shear sold as a"Throatless Bench Shear" but nothing with similar numbering to the one I have. This may or may not be an older version of the same. The shear is functional and comes with a table, but it does not currently have a handle. See photos for dimensions. Due to size and weight. I'm only listing this for pick-up in the Philadelphia, PA area. There may be a possibility of local delivery for a small additional fee. A large late 19th century beautiful indian repousse silver table bowl. Chased and engraved with fine floral and foliate scrolling decoration. Engraved with a letter'R' on the cartouche in the center. Hallmarked to base with the letters'DC 90' Truely stunning repousse work of the highest quality. It is quite dirty and would benefit from a clean which i will leave to the buyer. Also has a few bumps and is slightly mis-shapen. The bottom rim has a tiny split which is not noticeable. It measures approx 15cm(6 inches) diameter and 11cm high(4.5 inches) and 8cm(3 inches) deep. There is a long table runner that measures approximately 42" x 13" And two smaller matching pieces that measure approximately 10" x 9" All three feature a pink border. And hand-stitched accents of baskets of flowers. One of the smaller pieces shows some discoloration and has more spots than the other two. This is a very nice vintage formica top dining room or kitchen table. It can also be used as a desk. It is American-made by Howell of St. Charles. Illinois and is inspired by Danish styles, making it more formal looking. It is in very good vintage condition. The table's formica top has neutral tans and beiges that form different lines or layers. It is modern but refined. Table measures 48 inches long by 30 inches wide by 30 inches tall floor to top of table. Table legs have original paint and have minor wear to them. Legs and tips can easily be spray painted if you wish to. One small nick on the table(see photo 7) but it is hard to see and also to capture in photos. Table will ship disassembled. Carpet Binding machine and table.
This is a heavy duty FAST machine. I purchased this with intensions of setting up a carpet binding service for retail stores. I have only used it to run off carpet base. Its fast. Like 3x faster than my small portable machine. The timing is off and there is a small metal fracture about an inch from the corner. Other than that its a great machine. I would send it to Bond for an update service. Its been sitting for a few yrs now.

This is a fantastic piece and one of the very few George III period pieces that employs birds eye maple in its construction. This table is in its original finish with fine structural integrity. It has had some professional restorative upkeep preformed on it and a repair a very old leg block split that was no doubt caused by the piece being pushed far too hard across. Its been addressed professionally. We observed it and obligated to inform you of it. We consider this as having no effect on the value of this wonderful ... morepiece, it is a remarkable fine piece and especially given the price we are offering it for. This piece has one drawer and a faux drawer facing on each of its ends. It has stunning turned and tapered legs and absolutely charming tiny brass leg cupped pivoting original caster wheels. Each the drawer and the faux facing are framed by birds eye maple cock bead moldings. The secondary woods are made from yew wood and pine with a wonderful red wash on it. The finish and surfaces are all in an untouched original good condition. The top has a few mars on it that are well within acceptable limits for an 18th century piece of furniture. A proper waxing will address this. Each leaf has finely crafted double wooden carved leave supports with hand carved wooden hinge systems. With hidden Drawer, Newport, c.1780 One almost never finds a card table with its original hidden drawer. As card tables with drawers are very rare to begin with. This table, with its original drawer, is quite special, in terms of rarity and quality. It’s all in the wood and craftsmanship; pure Newport. Note the magnificent slabs of mahogany on the top boards. They’re very heavy, and often referred to as ironwood. Look at the edge molding in the detailed images. Note how beautifully they are executed. This is indicative of the quality throughout. Although quite austere, the strongly molded legs and beautiful ... morewood are simplistic elegance. Interestingly. This table comes right out of the Goddard House, which is right next door to the John Brown House on Providence’s historic East Side. The Goddards, of course, are related to the Brown family, through a distant relation to John Goddard, the Newport cabinetmaker) which makes this table all the more special, as we know where it has resided through the years.
