We are selling a Victorian Settee- I'm not sure how old it is exactly but I'd guess that it's from the mid to late 1800's. I purchased it from an antique store a few years ago and they didn't have any information about it. It's a pretty teal color- the back is the same as the front(the flash from the camera makes it look a little lighter but it's not) It is nicely carved and the upholstery is in very good condition- no stains or rips. I am not sure if the upholstery is original or not. The sofa measures approximately 64" long. 25" wide and the seat sits at 16. As with any piece of older furniture there are some nicks and dings in the wood but it is a beautiful sofa. Local pick up only within 10 calendar days of winning bid. Antique Couch Sofa Settee Carved Wood Ornate BEAUTIFUL!
This was bought at an estate sale in Virginia. I know little about it but was told by the seller that it is from the 1800s. That's not verified. It's really lovely and with updated upholstery it would be gorgeous. The upholstery is in good shape except for the arm where the binding is loose. There are 2 spots where the wood is marred but otherwise looks good to me.very ornate. Casters on front legs. The bottom lining is a bit loose and burlap is visible under the lining. Antique American Empire Carved Mahogany Sofa Settee Circa 1830-1850
A beautiful American Empire sofa/settee. Amazing carved mahogany details with olive green mohair upholstery. Measures approximately 64 inches long x 24 inches deep x 34 1/2 inches tall at the back. The round fluted crest rail has downturned curved ends on either side with acanthus leaf carvings above a smooth curved back. The front of the arms have carved cherries. Pears, oak leaves, acanthus leaves, and nuts framed by a cartouche of C scrolls. Feather design carving on legs with paw feet. Possibly made in New York. There is overall fading on the upholstery along with a worn spot on the back, a tear on the side, and the trim is loose in one section(see photos) Appraised at 2,300. This settee has been well cared for and will provide many years of enjoyment for the new owner.

These were very cherished pieces of furniture. The few I've seen were in nice condition. I assume the were placed in a seldom used room It is noted that the Deutsch Brothers were commissioned in 1961 by Jacquelyn Kennedy to design furniture in the Louis XV style for the East Room(music room.
