This austere work from the workshop of Gustav Stickley is an impressive object. The solid oak and oak veneers glow under years of waxing, the finish is soft and velvety with warm mellowed hues and a deep patina from the oxidized charm of use. The back leg retains the decal of the Stickley shop used during the years of 1905-12. It is in every way a very fine investment grade selection. Measurements: 55 13/16" wide x 22 5/8" deep x 29 5/8" high; 18" high to top of cushion Condition Report: Oak veneer cracking and loss throughout. Particularly to the edges of the feet and along the posts. Surface is early, probably not original, well preserved with wax. Scratches, gouges and abrasions throughout, as expected with an antique, these well represented in the photos. Core of feet have typical dry-rot, not causing any issues or weakness. This bench ... moreis a rare find with a lovely scalloped top. Curved arms and straight legs. It almost looks like a decorative church pew. It has tons of character and that true folk art flavor. The paint appears to be all original and has nicks, edge wear, paint loss, chips and scrapes on it as you'd expect from and item of this age. It has wooden pegs on the tops of the curved arms as you can see in the second to the last picture. The underneath has been braced with four extra and later pieces of wood. This was likely done to brace the crack in the seat of the bench. It's a through crack and you can see it both in the top and underneath the bench in the pictures. The bench is solid and sturdy. The last picture is looking straight down at the seat of the bench. As you can see there are what appear to be cut nails and newer. Round nails. There is a mixture throughout the bench and it appears someone put newer nails in it to strengthen it up. The bench is a great size measuring 74.5" long including the curved ends on both sides x 17.5" deep x 18" high at the seat and 37.5" high at the top of the back. Note: Due to the size of this cabinet this will have to be a local pick up only. We will work with your shipper and can hold it for you if you decide to ship. We can recommend Plycon as they have several offices around the country and have been very competitive on other shipments. We always recommend that you insure your shipments. French Louis XV Style Carved and Painted Antique Settee Early 20th Century Item# 130008SIU26 A very attractive antique settee of the French Louis XV taste. This is a lovely piece that exhibits all typical elements of the Rococo movement, but clearly with an angularity that speaks of influence from the Art Deco movement. The frame of the antique French settee is painted in a tarnished silver, this delightfully worn away in well used areas, resulting in a nice growing patina throughout. Resting over the trapezoidal seat back. The crest is carved of the solid with several roses that flow outward into the molded frame with foliage, flanked only by pyramid finials draped in acanthus leafage at each corner. The legs have robust acanthus leafage flowing from the knee along the frame as they join the seat. Each foot terminating in scrolled toes in the Louis XV manner. This is a very beautiful victorian gossip bench! It has magnificent carvings all over and would look great in any home in just about any room or hallway. I cannot say exactly how old it is. But it is definitely many decades. Has small scuff/tear in bottom back side as seen in pictures. I believe it was probably recovered at some point, but I do not know. Also, the white portion of the handle is busted, but can easily be replaced if you choose to do so. Very minor issues in comparison to the elegant beauty this piece brings. This good sized sofa has a well padded back with scrolled arms over a sprung seat being raised on mahogany turned legs with later castors. My mother gave me these beautiful Victorian Eastlake pieces years ago and I always planned to recover and refinish. All pieces have the original green velvet. I did pull the braided trim from four of the pieces and stapled a leopard print fabric on top. It can be pulled off and the original green velvet would be exposed. Antique settee and matching chair. I do not know much about these. They were at my grandmothers, I believe they are early 1900's but could be dated earlier I am not an expert, please view the photos and ask questions. I was told they are queen anne but I am not sure also told rare to find matching chair. The fabric on the settee is very old and worn may be original but the chair has newer fabric. Photo's include the underneath of the settee, where some of the nails have come loose did not fix this as by seeing the inside perhaps an expert can date it. French Louis XVI Style Upholstered Canape 20th Century w/ a worn gilded gesso surface Item# 130009HAP22 This is a very cute French Louis XVI Style settee in an old yellow upholstery. The frame is heavily carved solid walnut beneath a light layer of gesso and is covered in an oxidized and worn gilding. Carved in the typical Louis XVI manner. The frame is molded with rope carvings around the entirety of it and is crested by a twisted ribbon wreath. Resting over tapered and fluted legs and terminating in balled stumps, the settee remains incredibly sturdy and strong; it is very comfortable and supportive for lounging and relaxing, despite having been designed primarily as a stunning decorative work. This beautiful settee has great form and lovely lines. All the veneers are just beautiful as well as the solid wood and all matching. As antique Biedermeier commands. The settee has a sweeping back rest and ample seat for comfort. It measures 39 1/2 inch across backrest. And approximately an inch less for seat width, 35 7/8 inch from floor to top of backrest, and seat depth is total is 19 1/2 inches and 18 1/2 inches from floor to top of seat. The arms are all solid wood and have wood pegs for construction. The beautiful warm golden brown tones are all with their natural aged patina. The wood type I am not exactly sure of, due to the Biedermeiers were made of several different European woods, however they are GORGEOUS AND ALL ORIGINAL. Please email any questions. Happy to oblige. Sheraton style settee, solid mahogany, authentic reproduction
This was purchased from the Williamsburg collection and it is in excellent condition and very pretty. Everyone falls in love with this piece. But as I am moving, this will have to be sacrificed. I wouldn't recover as that is quite expensive with welts etc. but it looks just fine the way it is: even with some discoloration on the arms and a couple of stains. I had 2 large pillows made and they cover up any sins perfectly well. Even with the fading, it looks pretty and would fit in well with a traditional decor. I also have many yards of the beautiful Brunschwig fabric to buy. It is priced low because of the signs of wear. However, that being said, everyone loves this piece and no one goes down to the floor to examine the bottom of the legs. A little touch up with the stain pens should be helpful. But, the wood does show some wear around ... morethe bottom.

I lean toward Sheraton because the style matches that most closely, and the wood does not look like Mahogany and Sheraton furniture was frequently done in Satinwood. This is a gorgeous chaise in the style of Louis the XV. I purchased it in an antique shop in Hudson New York and was told it was from late 1800's to early 1900's. It is upholstered in a lovely blue floral fabric. The wood frame is cream with blue trim. It is in immaculate condition. The chaise is full length it measures about 52 inches long by 26 inches wide it is 31 inches high to top of the crest and to the top of the cushion it is 17 1/2 inches. Old Hickory style(unsigned) 2 person bench/settee. Bench is in very good condition. Only one area of damage to cane at front edge of seat. I would guess the age to be 25 to 30 years old. Dimensions of the bench are: 47” wide, 42” high, 27” deep, 17 ½” seat height.I would prefer buyer pick up of this item, otherwise the buyer will be responsible for arranging the shipping.
