Again which is not normal. most desks are 41" to 43" wide, this one is quite narrow. Dovetailed case. TOP, AND BOTTOM! it is rare to find these chests/desks dovetailed, let alone the base and top dovetailed. Solid Cherry Case. Again, its a very early sheraton piece, most sheraton desks have paneled sides, this is solid sides indicating it was made slightly after 1800 to about 1810 to 1815. Dovetailed drawer construction. Cherry slant lid. With Flame Burl Mahogany veneer front. Pine Drawer Fronts. With Mahogany Cockbeading, and Mahogany Flame Burl Veneers and Poplar sides, and bottoms. Cherry. Mahogany veneers, Pine drawer fronts with mahogany veneers, and Poplar Secondary woods. The interior has a prospect door that opens to reveal 4 drawers. Tiger maple turned column drawers next to the prospect door. drawers slide great on the ORIGINAL drawer slides. Which is one of the first items to wear out on the early desks, usually resulting in replacements. Unusually tall writing surface. Which would indicate the desk was originally owned by a shop keeper or a businessman of sorts. you will need a tall stool to set at the desk. a nice early windsor type stool would look nice with the desk! Original Finish. Brass drawer pulls, and all of the interior knobs, and lid support knobs. Condition: aside from being the cleanest desk we have ever owned. The overall physical condition is NEAR MINT 98% PRESERVED CONDITION! the only flaws are minor veneer chips on the base from a stool/chair, and 2 spots of veneer loss on the lid, and veneer split due to wood shrinkage on the lid. It was likely made in the early 1900's. Made of oak. And has a spooncarved front. There are no identifying markings. It is in excellent shape and it has the original finish. Brass fittings show a bit of tarnish but should clean up easily with a little TLC. Three of the posts on the brass rail at the top are loose but can be easily secured with a little bit of attention. One of the rail ends is stripped so that will need to be secured as well. Otherwise this piece is ready for your home. I would be happy to provide more detailed photos if requested. I hate to part with such a beautiful and unique item but we no longer have the room and it just doesn't fit our decor. The dimensions are 40 1/2” tall its tallest point. 33 1/2“ wide at its widest point at the base, and 19” deep when closed,and 34“ deep when opened. Local pickup only.

This is a late 19th century Tiger Oak Side-by-Side Secretary Desk/ Book Case. It is in excellent antique condition overall and loaded with details. The tiger striping feature in the oak is amazing throughout. There is an open upper shelf backed by a shaped beveled mirror. Below the open shelf. On the left, is a four shelf book case with three adjustable shelves and a curved glass door. On the right is a smaller storage compartment with a leaded beveled glass door. Below that is a drop down door that becomes the desk top when opened and reveals five cubbies and a central drawer. Below that are three larger drawers. The drop down and the three large drawers all have locks. All of the locks work and the key is present. Made in two parts from perfectly matched mahogany and inlaid with boxwood. Spade feet. The top section is 33 inches high to the finial and the bottom section is 40.5 inches high. The total height is 73.5 inches. It is 29.75 inches wide. 16 inches deep, and 30 inches high to the writing surface, which is 21.75 inches deep when open. The lid measures 12 inches when closed. There are eight interior drawers, one door and several ledger compartments. The bottom has three serpentine drawers over three smaller serpentine drawers. All the drawers were made with hand cut dovetails. This is a very rare diminutive size, and the only one we have ever been lucky enough to acquire. Hello. You are bidding on a brand new secretary that I purchased on Ebay just 2 months ago. I thought it would work in a particular space in my home but I didn't measure properly for that space. It is a really chic and beautifully articulated secretary with a patinated finish that makes it look old. The lacquer on the exterior is not high gloss but the red lacquer paint finish inside really pops. It's a fantastic contrast. What I like is the quality paint work of each panel on the outside which is painted with a different scene. Each drawer inside has a different painted scene. All of the interior compartments are finished and painted all the way around and the insides of each drawer and the entire exterior of the drawer is painted. A rich. Reddish-brown mahogany, late 1930s Governor Winthrop, slant front style desk with oxbow(reverse serpentine) front and ball and claw feet. This model has breadboard ends on the writing surface and it comes with a key. The hardware is 90% intact on the desk, but the keyhole frame on the inner door and the knob on the right slider/writing surface support are missing. It features a writing surface that opens, pulls down, and rests on supports that are pulled out manually to keep the writing lid sturdy. When the lid is pulled down, it exposes a multi-cubby hole interior with a fan-carved door, two cleverly disguised, hidden behind multi-turn spindle post, narrow drawers, multiple bottom drawers, slats for letters and envelopes, and an oversized writing surface. Antique Rolltop Desk Secretary Hutch Top
Offered here is Grandpa's roll top desk from his dental office. It is well used and shows some wear. The left side of the roll top has the first few slats loose but the rest of the roll is in great shape. This is an easy fix. The locking mechanism is missing as is the key. We are pleased to offer this exquisite piece of furniture! This is a newer vintage(1980s) piece. This is a unique. Art Deco, medical(physician's) apothecary desk replica by Pulaski Furniture Company. It features a top drawer with brass apothecary back plates and white glass pulls/knobs. The center of the cabinet is hinged. It pulls out to create a writing desk surface with interior storage. The lower section of the cabinet is actually a separate piece of furniture. It is a beautiful bench chair with a brown leather(maybe pleather) seat and a brass nail head style trim. The bench has a high back. The exterior profile of the desk completely matches the cabinet. It even includes an ornate brass pull so that, when the chair is pushed inside the chest, it looks like a cabinet door. The top of the chest has an Art Deco style trim with a small, ... moreoval center mirror. The mirror is marked on the back"Copper Bonded" and"Pulaski Mirror Company" The piece also has a tag on the bottom which reads"Made by Jessup Furniture Company, Collinsville, VA" Jessup made furniture for many companies including Pulaski and Lane until the mid 1990s. The piece is well made with dovetailed drawers. It has nice, rail style feet that hyper extend from the cabinet. The brass door pulls are very nice with an Art Deco design. The cabinet is wood with a burled, birds eye maple, wood veneer. This is a very interesting and unique piece of furniture. It is in very good condition with only a couple minor scuffs and surface scratches which can be easily resolved. The mirror has some aging and a minor scratch on the back. While this table/desk is probably from the midcentury. Based on papers we found in the desk. It is at least that old. It might actually be older. The tabletop measures 19 inches deep and about 34 1/2 inches across. Total height is about 32 inches. Total clearance under the desk about 24 inches. The entire desk unit is about 7 1/2 inches thick.
