A Wonderful Antique Iron Piano Stool. Patented in 1866 by M. Greenwood& Co. This great Iron Piano Stool is very heavy and solid. The Iron legs are painted a medium blue. There is some loss of paint on the feet. The seat is covered in a gold/yellow handmade needlepoint with a floral design. The seat is not highly colorful. However it is in relatively good condition commensurate with the age. The padding on the seat is not very thick. However it is comfortable to sit upon. There is a thread mechanism that allows the seat to rise to a different height. In its lowest position the stool is about 18 inches high the seat is 12 inches wide. This is a very Nice Chas Parker CO Oak Swivel Top Adjustable Antique Glass Ball Claw Foot Piano Stool made in Meriden CT. It is a wonderful piece and in very good shape. It has been very well taken care of and is out of an Estate. The glass balls on the feet are chipped pretty badly. Still Very sturdy and a wonderful piece. Piano stool is 19 inches tall when adjusted all the way down. I have not refinished or retouched the piece. Dowel legs look on good solid condition. Not wobbly at all. Someone toes the legs with string to he it together they way they used to to reinforce and strengthen and prevent the legs from breaking. Edwardian period piano stool with turned side carrying handles and storage compartment(originally used for sheet music) under the upholstered lid. The stool is mounted on gracefully shaped cabriole legs. I do not know the exact date it was made but have seen almost identical walnut stools at auctions dated to 1910. I inherited this piece from my aunt who lived in England. She used it for her piano, I used it as a hall stool but it can also be used in front of a vanity table or as a window stool etc. The stool has been reupholstered with a small antique custom made pile rug(reclaimed from an antique chair from the same period- to match the hall chairs) The stool is made of solid wood(which looks like walnut to my inexpert eye) and is quite heavy, weighs almost 15 lbs(without any packing materials) It is a sturdy piece of furniture, comfortable ... moreto sit on and practical in use(love the storage compartment where I kept shoe horn, shoe shine sponge, sunglasses and all the other bits and pieces which littered the hall before) However, what won me over, to import it from England, were the perfect proportions which make it so graceful to look at. A very nice working Schultz Cabinet Grand Upright Piano. I was told by someone who plays that it has a very nice sound. I am not a expert on old pianos. I provide photos and information. I was told by two different sources that the serial number is either from 1905 or 1908. The wood is in very nice condition except for the very bottom of the right foot base where it was damaged by chewing from a animal. The scratches are less then 1/8" deep. I beleive it could be repaired without much effort or expense. See second to the last photo. Also if you notice the last photo shows the keyboard cover with the name Schulz. Not Schultz. Good vintage condition–all the toes are there. Top of each foot has an inside diameter of about ¾” with a screw hole for attaching to a furniture leg-Please inspect the photos to see the true condition of these pieces. Antique Chickering Box Grand Boston Piano with Stool
This Chickering box grand piano has been in my husband's family since it was purchased new in 1856. It has my husband's grandfather's"autograpy on the underside of it-put there when he was still young enough that he was playing under the piano. It's actually in pretty good condition. Considering it's age. It is serial number 13268. All the piece are here. We even have ivory replacement keys(they are antique as well and would need to be whitened and installed by an expert. We have such an expert right here in Tulsa. He is one of only a couple of companies that still restore box pianos in the entire country. If you are seriously interested in the piano and having it restored. I will be happy to contact Mr. Miller(the piano restorer) and have him provide a figure and time frame for restoration.
