This is a lovely oak canteen which contains a six place setting of silver plated fish knives and forks. They are all stamped HJAB. EPNS and A. Presumably the first is the makers mark and the last the year of production. It is in good used condition with just a little light scratching. Rare Unusual Late Victorian Antique Oak Jewellery Box, Combined Perfume Tantalus
Offered for sale. A"Rare& Extremely Unusual" Late Victorian Antique Oak Jewellery Box. Combined Perfume Tantalus. This Deliciously exquisite and most unusual item is simply a delight. And a genuine curio of the Victorian era. It was clear that a fine lady would need to protect her treasures from potential light fingered servants, however it seems there was also a need to ensure her expensive perfumes were not being surreptitiously dabbed on the neck of the housemaid and it must have been derived from the“Butlers Enemy” the drinks“Tantalus” first shown at the great exhibition, that the idea of combining a version of this with a lockable jewellery box must have come, hence allowing both valuables to be displayed whilst at the same time protecting them from use by the staff. It is unclear when the first of these were made and how ... morewidely they were used and for how long they were popular, clearly nowhere near as widespread in use as their counterpart the drinks Tantalus which is borne out by their rarity today. This example is stunning and in really very nice condition, it consists of four cut glass(probably Bohemian) perfume bottles themselves in lovely condition with only a couple of flea bites on one of the stoppers to fault them. The jewellery box opens at the top with lockable hinged double doors which also secure the bottles in the Tantalus; the doors also have superb bevelled glass panels to allow the jewellery below to be viewed. Inside there are three red leather lined compartments two of which have red leather covered tilt-top covers and are silver embossed with the words in old English script“ Hair Pin s” the central compartment is open. There are a few scuffs and minor age and use related marks to the leather but these are only very much what you would expect, indeed require of a used item of this age. There’s a secret drawer“there is always a secret drawer” particularly with the better pieces, this is where you keep the good stuff and is laid out as a bespoke jewellery tray, it is at the bot

Antique Mission Oak Arts and Crafts Turned Candlesticks - PAIR
Pair of antique Mission Oak Arts& Crafts solid turned oak candlesticks. Circa 1900. Fitted and glued to the bottom of each candlestick is a green felt pad. The over-all condition is excellent. The finish is original. Size of each- 1 0 1/4" High x 5 1/8" Diameter. Of special note is the beautiful horizontal grain in the bases. Which by being turned created a very organic pattern(see photos. I have never seen any better wood grain pattern than on these. The grain pattern created in the turning clearly shows these candlesticks have a high artistic quality. Witt Percussion. Red Oak 14"x5.5" Snare Drum HAND MADE IN U.S.A. In the last month I bought two red oak snare drums from Ian Witt at Witt Percussion. Here is one of them. I hate to see her go. I have listed this as"used" but it is essentially in the same condition that I bought it from Witt. With the exception of upgraded drum heads. Here is the description from Witt Percussion's original listing: This auction is for a 14x5.5 6 ply red oak snare drum made by Witt percussion. The shell is 6 plies of all horizontal grain sequenced matched red oak. What you see on the outside is what the wood looks like all the way through. Get that solid shell sound at a value price. The shell is 1/4" thick with hand rounded classic style 45 degree edges. It has 8 gretsch repro lugs. A classic style strainer, stainless steel wires[with ... morebrass end plates] and 2.3 mm flanged hoops. The shell is made by Witt percussion. Since my purchase. I have replaced the stock heads with better quality brand new Remo Coated Ambassador on top and Remo Snare Side Ambassador on the bottom. She is now tuned up and ready to play! Crisp and dry sounding. Impressive sound and looks! Oak is slightly more complex sounding than maple. Give her a try! Bearing edges are in excellent original condition. This is a totally handmade shell. So if you see a fingerprint on the shell, that is from the shell builder, not me. I didn't try to clean any of that off. I would rate this snare drum a solid 9.5 out of 10. Subtracting for a couple oxidation spots on the hoops and the fingerprint on the shell. Small, but worth mentioning. A very fine antique. Circa 1890's, quartersawn oak china cabinet in the original dark brown finish. The front door and glass are slightly bowed, the cornice above the door with a carved panel of acanthus scrolls with boss shield at center. Two snarling carved griffins are atop the curved pillars either side of the door. The two front legs are with carved claw feet. The back panel is quartersawn veneered, the original four stationary removable double plate grooved shelves in quartersawn oak. The cabinet measures 5'8" 68" tall by 4' 48" wide by 17" deep, the shelves 13-1/2" deep at center. Excellent codition: oak without chips or cracks, unworn original finish. Includes the handle and lock, no key. All glass is original and undamaged, the interior plain mirror is without spotting or cloudiness.

An exceptionally fine antique. Circa 1890's, quartersawn oak china cabinet with appled oak carvings in acanthus scrolls. A simple spindel gallery is to the top of either side. The front door has two glass panels, it opening to a top compartment, and the cabinet with four original stationary plain grain removable shelves. The door retains the brass handle, keyhole, and lock, no key. The four glass panels, and the two top wing beveled mirrors, are original and without damage. The cabinet is very nicely refinished to a yellow amber. It measures 6' 72" tall by 4'4" 52" wide by 1'4" 16" deep, the plate double grooved shelves 14-1/2" deep. Excellent condition: boards without cracks or chips, carvings complete. All glass is without damage, no backing spots or cloudiness to mirrors.

There is a shaped backboard with carvings applied to it and a nice fleur de lis in the center. Great decor piece. It measures 39.25 inches wide by 8 tall and is 1.25 inches deep. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. There are a couple of chips with loss to the carvings. This is an old original antique oak wall medicine cabinet with a beveled mirror. There is a carved design at the top. It came form an estate sale at an original South Dakota Centenial Homestead that was settled in the late1800's. It is found in the exact condition that I purchased it in. There was an old wasp nest on the top edge. But I removed that. I didn't want to try and wash it or clean it all and ruin the finish. Under the chippy ivory white paint, the cabinet is solid oak. The bottom edge has been modified. One side of a towel bar holder was removed. You could easily remove the other side or have a piece made to match and restore it. The latch and hinges work fine. Antique Tiger Oak Wash Stand w/Brass Hardware NICE!!
Here you are buying an"Antique Oak Washstand" It is a really nice item that's made of quartersawn oak often called tiger oak. It has one draw over two drawers and a cabinet. There are brass handles on it(handles have been replaced) as well a a keyhole lock on the top drawer(key not included) On each top front corner there is an ornate hand carving. The washstand measures 36 inches wide x 29 inches high x 20 inches deep. Heavy and solid in integrity this is a really nice item.
