I believe this chair was made by L and JG stickley. dont know for sure. its not signed that I see. old orig Finnish estate fresh. missing back bar of oak that would hold back rest in place. easy fix however. winner picks up from me or pays shipping and ins. just put up a few more pics. Notice bottom inside of rear right leg has a veneer chip missing and remaining veneer is a little loose. also rear left leg veneer is also needing re gluing, but has no loss. hope this helps.

Magnificent Custom Upholstered Antique S.A. Cook& Co. Winged Griffin Lion Head Morris Chair Made in 1901. This chair is completely fabulous! This piece is over 100 years old. And in amazing condition with carved wood work that is absolutely captivating. This was considered to be one of the earliest recliners ever made with 3 notches to lower the back of the chair. It also has a metal manufacturers plate on the lower back with the companies name and year made. These chairs are rare. And very valuable. The chair has been newly custom upholstered in a designer fabric that very closely resembles the original fabric. This chair is quarter saw oak and has the original finish. But does have new webbing, and newly tied springs, brand new foam, and fresh fabric. I couldn't believe it when I was able to find an updated version of the original ... morefabric in the same colors with a similar pattern. This chair has been completely revamped. And has stayed entirely true to it's origin. This would be an excellent piece of furniture for any antique dealer. People who love rare items, or just someone with great style. Antique Oak, Paw Foot Morris Chair, 1900-1950, Victorian
I love these old Morris chairs. The first recliners. This one is especially nice due to the carved legs and paw feet. It was refinished several years ago and professionally re-upholstered. All the brass hardware is original and in excellent polished condition. Right now it is a bit wobbly but I will completely re-glue it before auctions end.

The seat is covered with some old material- under the material are the original springs- all intact. It looked as though it had not been touched in many years. The chairs are made of excellent quarter sawn oak and have good original finishes and marked with early box decal. We do have few dozen Morris chairs in the shop but none are with fantastic quarter sawn oak with super original color as this chair( we also have the same model circa 1900) The chair has excellent construction and is extremely thick and bulky. The arms are bowed and have pinned through tenons at the front and back and supported by pinned corbels at the front and back. The leg posts are very wide and thick. The back is pinned at every joint. The adjustable back support and pegs appear to be original and have several setting. This antique chair is for sale for a price of $1000 This is a beautiful antique oak Morris chair; you won't find a nicer one! The body is solid and thick oak and in perfect shape. The photos show the chair in the upright position as well as in the fully reclined position. The cushions were professionally reupholstered with high quality durable new fabric. The original horsehair is in the back cushion keeping it in its original state; the seat cushion has been replaced and is firm and solid. Both cushion covers have concealed zippers and piping edges. Note that the seat of the chair. Under the cushions, was also beautifully reupholstered with the new fabric and the original brass nails were then added back to the chair. The chair back can be set to four different positions simply by sliding the metal bar in the notches. Oak Morris Chair Massive Carved Lions Feet w/ ottoman BEAUTIFUL
Antique Quartersawn White Oak Morris Chair with massive carved lions feet. W ottoman and Beautiful dark blue leather. I've owned this for the last 9 years. Having purchased this from the regions most notable Antique dealer.Joe Ley Antiques in downtown Louisville, Ky. It was in remarkable condition and only needed a good cleaning and some fresh cushions/upholstery. I was wanting something for the"Mancave" so I went with this luxurious dark blue leather from a local tannery. Since it was a wholesale purchase, I had to buy the whole piece of hide. After having the seat bottom and back made, I thought what am I to do with all the leftover hide. It then struck me after reclining in the chair that an ottoman would be absolutely perfect, so I set about the making of an ottoman which would compliment the chair in style, but could be ... moreused as a stand alone seating option if needed. What you see in the pictures are what you are bidding on.the Morris Chair and the ottoman. The following are the dimensions" Overall it is 29 3/4" wide. Seat completely erect is 28" deep Seat at full recline is 38" deep Seat back/full erect 40" high The oak wood is absolutely beautiful patina. And the finish is polish smooth. The"paw" feet are complete with no chipping or missing pieces. You can tell upon first glance this piece was made by an artistic individual. There is one dark mark on the top right arm. Probably a burn from a cigarette, but was left as to not remove or alter the patina. You can see it in the first photo on the left(right arm) about midway back. As shown in the last photo. There is an old repair on the seat back which has never been an issue. The seat cushion is 21" wide by 19" deep. Seat cusion is actually deeper. But back cushion rests on top of seat cushion. Original seat cushions that are made of oil cloth. The chair features short corbels under the front seat stretcher and through-tenons at the front and back of the arms and five adjustable positions. Showing the original turned adjusting pegs and axles. This Morris chair retains the Original Morris chair model numbers stenciled on the inside of the rear seat stretcher 764-780 1/2 and written in pencil the number 780 1/2 on the bottom seat cushion. The earlier Stickley Brothers pieces were signed with a small oval paper label attached with one or two nails. Antique ORIGINAL STICKLEY Mission Oak Beautiful Dark Morris Chair With Label
Up for bids is this 1920's excellent all original including the nice dark finish Quaint Bros Stickley Bros Company form Grand Rapids Michigan Morris chair. This chair very tight and does not need any repair except one of the nail covers on the back is missing(see pic) The finish is dark but worn and there are a few large nicks to the wood. The cushion may be original as it is very heavy with what seems to be springs inside. I believe it is vinyl. Not leather. The chairs measures 27" arm to arm. 39 1/4" floor to top of back, 23" seat width and 19" deep. This is a beautiful and authentic Stickley Morris Chair. It is in Really good condition. No parts have ever being repair or change. Both Chair and foot stole come with Stickley shop marks. Have own this Chair for almost 20 years and the quality is outstanding. The leather is in almost perfect condition.
