Super unique inlaid walnut veneer on the front doors ~ that makes a very modern hourglass pattern. Extremely well made piece with a great open leg stretcher system. With brushed nickel foot caps, and blown glass and brushed nickel handles ~ all with an oiled walnut finish. Left side had a removable shelf, for bottles(wood shelf support pegs not present but easily purchased at any hardware store) Right side has three drawers, top drawer has the silverware dividers, and is felt lined. In other words, these cabinets were not moved from home to home for the past 60 or 70 years. This is why they are in such great shape. As you can see in one of the photos above, when they are matching corner cabinets, it is fun to sit them together and make a large half round cabinet. Both of these measure the same, they are 70 1/4” tall, approx. 35” wide, and 20 3/4” front to back. The two upper curved glass doors, are 16” wide, and 34” tall. There are a total of three shelves for sitting items of choice. These shelf areas are 31” wide, and 17 1/4” front to back. Two of the shelves have plate grooves. The line was created exclusively for Drexel by designer John Van Koert and was produced from 1956 to 1961. Profile pieces were constructed of walnut or pecan or. As in this piece, a combination of both. The result is a striking contrast of light and dark woods, allowing the tables to harmonize with both light and dark furniture. The construction is solid and sturdy, but sleek. None of the Profile pieces featured square edges as Van Koert was a trained sculptor who favored a soft, rounded look in his designs. Profile pieces were cataloged with a capital"K" for Koert and a two-digit number. One end table bears the piece's impressed number ... moreK83 on its underside. The tables are in their original finish and have not been retouched. Condition: Tables are still tightly jointed- no wobbling. Typical wear on the underside of tables. Up for auction is the nicest example of Drexel Declaration Buffet/Hutch I've seen. It has the original sales floor tag. And product literature. It's a beautiful piece. I have the matching table and chairs in another auction- check it out. All pieces have the same date code, and were manufactured at the same time for the same customer. This auction is for the pieces you see pictured here. They include the sideboard and four door glass hutch with all associated shelves, hardware, and literature. The wood is american walnut, and its a stunner in person. The sideboard could be used alone. It's very nice. It has built in lighting in the left and right door sections. A mechanism activates the light when the doors are opened. It takes a standard sized(edison) bulb. There are plugs for these lights on the back of the piece(see pics) The ... moreright door section has dividers for serving trays. Etc. The drawers are quality dovetail jointed. The top drawer has dividers for knives, forks, etc. This piece can house a lot of tableware. There is a notable scratch on the top(see pic) It can be covered by shifting the hutch portion to the left creating a modern asymmetric look. It did;t really bother us much, so we kept the hutch in the middle(as shown) The upper hutch section is a beauty. It has four solid walnut framed glass doors. And houses a set of four white"milk glass" shelves. The shelves are height adjustable. The hutch has built-in lighting, too. A few small fluorescent bulbs can be turned on/off manually with a switch on the cord. This is all original. We housed a complete set of Fransican Atomic Starburst dinnerware, and with the lights turned on a night, it was a show stopper! The condition of the upper hutch is excellent. The original literature is included and consists of everything you see in the pics below. It has the actual"hang tags" that once hung from the knobs on the showcase floor. Drexel Heritage - Pair of Banded Provincial End Tables - Excellent Condition
I believe these are dated 1967. They do not say Drexel on them but the Heritage stamp is consistent with other known Drexel pieces. The condition is definitely excellent but nothing used is perfect. There are no significant flaws or finish issues. The only crack I could find in the wood is shown in a photo and it does not effect the structural integrity. These tables are gallery worthy. They measure 22" wide by 28" long by 21" tall. I will have to ship them separately unless you can pick them up. The feet still have the original metal buttons.
