Mid Century Danish Modern Dresser Credenza Drexel Style of Finn Juhl
This is a great dresser that I believe to have been made by Drexel in the style of some of Finn Juhl's pieces. It has 4 large center drawers and 8 smaller ones. Four on either side. The two panels on the front both slide smoothly for access to either the side or center drawers. This would be an amazing piece for a flat screen TV or as a dresser. Each of the drawers has the same smooth curve on the upper and lower which is very similar to the ones designed by Finn Juhl. This piece has a couple small issues. There are a couple scratches on the top as seen in pics#7-9. If you look very closely. You can see a very small piece of laminate missing on the bottom left side. Other than those minor issues, this is an amazingly solid and great looking piece. Pay Telephone Booth w/ Drexel Furniture Co Door Automatic Electric Co Pay Phone
An interesting piece with history. The folding glass doors were made by Drexel Furniture Company and still have the Company label and UL label attached as seen in photos. It is very likely they are original to when the Occidental Hotel was opened in 1915 or soon there after based on the style of the UL Label inside of the door. The door and insides came from the Occidental Hotel in Downtown Muskegon. Michigan. The Occidental Hotel was built in 1915 and was an area landmark of this old lumber town. The Occidental Hotel was Demolished with Dynamite in April 1975 to make room for the areas first indoor mall. You can actually go to Youtube and watch the video of the implosion. The pay phone was originally built into the wall cavity's of the Hotel interior and the Folding Drexel door and inside of the phone booth were original to the Hotel ... moreat that time. The Automatic Phone CompanyPay phone may have been original to the Booth. It has not been verified that the pay phone is still in working condition. The outside still has the lighted"telephone" sign on it and inside is the fluorescent circular light with fan. The fan has a separate switch. The outer cabinet was built after the other pieces had been removed from the Hotel previous to the demolition. It has since been used as a display piece and conversation piece since then. Local pickup only. Feedback will be required at time of pickup in order to protect the seller. Mid Century Modern Drexel Profile John Van Koert Table
This auction is for a wonderful Drexel Profile coffee table. The profile series was designed by John Van Koert. The table has great style it has a low profile with a sort of floating drawer area with 2 drawers and stands on spindly legs that get larger as they go up. I think three lines really define Drexel in the mid 20th century. These include the precedent. Designed by Edward Wormley; the profile, designed by John Van Koert; the declaration, collaboratively designed by Kipp Stewart and Stewart MacDonell. The pieces in these series would hold up with any fine danish modern, mid century decor. This table is in great condition. In a few spots at the bottom of the table there is some veneer loss. I believe that you can see them in the photographs I have included in the listing. Because they are on the bottom you really do not see it. This is an absolutely beautiful vintage factory distressed hand painted console/ hall cabinet. It has a variety of uses other than in a entry or hallway. It could be used as a night table. Offering a full length mirror to dress by and reflecting light in the room. This piece could also be used without the detachable mirror as a end table beside a chair or sofa. And the mirror could be used with a dresser. It was originally purchased new in the early 1960's by my father without the mirror. He used it as a console in his entry and added the mirror. The cabinet is made by Drexel Heritage. We do not know the manufacturer of the mirror.
