They've been in air conditioned storage since that time. These were commonly used by the medical profession. They are rare. That's for sure. The finish of the paint is still in remarkable condition, though they still need a thorough cleaning. Many of the pictures show the shiny surface of the paint, which was manufactured by DuPont. The metal surface was prepared and sprayed with a rust proofer by the Parker Rust Proof Co, with their product called Bonderite. From the"How to care for SIMMONS FURNITURE guide" SIMMONS FURNITURE protected and enhanced with Du Pont satin-finished HI-BAKE DULUX. SIMMONS Steel furniture is specially finished with Hi-Bake DULUX for outstanding beauty and durability. DULUX is an exceptionally hard finish with excellent moisture resistance that protects against rust or corrosion. With proper care. SIMMONS furniture remains beautifully new for years. Overall condition is good. The drawers are in good condition. With the top drawers showing a little rust on the inside. The second drawer down has only a small amount of rust showing, and the bottom drawer shows no rust. The drawer guides could use some graphite to restore the smooth fluid movement of opening and closing. Each piece has it's own forgivings. I tried my best to display in detail the extent of the abrasions. Dents and scratches. Examine the pictures carefully. If you need larger pics, or perhaps a different view, contact me and I'll send you the requested pics asap. The footstool's fabric is intact- no rips. Tears, holes or cracks and the material is soft and pliable. Someone removed what appears to be shipping tape- and that managed to remove some of the color in a small area which is more noticeable in the pictures than in person. 1907 EBONY & SILVER CLOTHES BRUSHES DRESSING TABLE VANITY ANTIQUE SET BRUSH
DESCRIPTION: Pair of solid ebony backed clothes brushes with silver embellishments. One has firm and the other has soft bristles. Silver has vacant cartouches surrounded by decorative engravings, both hallmarked London 1907, makers H. F. Daltrey& Company. Both brushes measure 6.5 inches long, 1.75 inches wide and are stamped'EBONY' A very rare find. This extremely slow growing hardwood was imported from British India and was a popular vanity set material with both men and women from around the turn of the century to the mid 1920s. When the timber became too rare and expensive to be economically viable. These ebony relics of the period have been highly prized ever since. CONDITION: The ebony is in perfect condition with no chips. Nicks, cracks or scratches, they have a very highly polished patina. Vintage Broadway and Co 1966 hallmarked silver dressing table set comprising of hand mirror. Hairbrush, clothes brush and comb. Unfortunately the hairbrush has got a dent in the Kartouche and there are areas where the Silver has worn all in all a very nice piece comprising of Zeus's face. The comb has teeth missing but I am sure it can be replaced. I have given the silver a clean but it could still do with some more elbow grease. The mirror is very heavy probably back filled. Mid to Late 1800's New England Painted 3-Drawer Dressing Table - A True Piece
Up for auction is a beautiful painted 3 drawer mid to late 1800's New England dressing table. I have had this table for about 5 years. But never found a good place to put it, so I'm moving it on. It is in very good condition, I have not done anything to it while I've had it. Please note that the dressing table is not crooked; the frame in pic#1 is. The floral motif is painted, not stenciled. The color you see in the pictures is pretty true. It is a dull yellow, old color. The drawers are dove-tailed and chamfered, with square nails. Nice old construction. I'm not sure what type wood this is- pine? I don't think it is oak, walnut, could be ash? Note the blue/white paint in the drawers- this could have been the very original color. The back does have some writing on it- probably the owner of the piece from a long time ago. ... moreLooks like there was some support added(see back) The drawers pull out smoothly- no sticking. The measurements are: The dresser is 31-1/4" across. The two top drawers are 25" across. From floor to the BOTTOM(underneath) of the drawer 26" space for your chair and legs) Note people were much smaller then! Depth(including back piece) 16-1/8" Height: 31-1/2" tall from floor to top of first piece, then with top two drawers it's 35" then add the top decorative piece- 39-3/8" Bottom drawer is 25" across. The top drawer(s) are 10-5/8" across. Measuring from the front to the back to drawers, the depth is 7-3/8" The top two drawers depth is 8-3/8" This will need to be picked up. No shipping. Chippendale ladies dressing table vanity. With walnut finish dating from the 1940s era. In reasonable condition for its age. There are scratches on the surface top which could be buffed out. This piece is structurally sound and would be great in any home with a little bit of TLC. The base is burl walnut, with walnut carved cabriole legs, contoured front, and four front outside drawers and one reverse center drawer, all retaining their original Chippendale style hardware. Beautiful 4 piece antique vanity set that I was told was from England. In very good condition and only needs a"squeezer" for the cologne bottle. There is a long tray. A large covered powder box, a smaller covered jar that probably held hair pins and hair ornaments as well as a very nice size spray cologne bottle that is lacking the spray ball. The set is unusually attractive and is such a fine quality that I think it might actually be crystal. It is quite unusual to find such a complete set that I think is from the 1920's.

A very large circular Dressing Table Jar with lower half fluted glass and with a hinged silver lid with `Mauve` enamel to the top. The lid is with a boyonette fitting. Vintage 1950s dressing table vanity set. There are actually two separate sets which I have put together as they have similar decoration. The first set consists of four pieces all with hand stitched petit point decoration and gold tone metal mounts. 1.A pair of candlesticks with petit point on the bases. Each candlestick measures 11.5cm tall 2.A trinket box which has petit point to the lid and is lined in red velvet. Measures 12cm across 3.A pin tray with petit point decoration. Measures 10.5cm across The second set consists of a clothes brush.
