I have a vintage barkcloth fabric dressing table skirt. This piece has a cream background with a beautiful midcentury design. The top section that would sit on top of the dressing table measures nearly 15" x 39" From the top. The skirt falls nearly 26 inches to the ground. This piece has sustained some damage. There are no rips or tears but there are some stains on the top section of this piece. I have not tried to remove these. There is a center seam. This beautiful piece was brought back from Japan. Right before WW ll, from an American nanny that was working there. The piece had been in the family forever. I have no idea how old it is, only that it is very old. If I had to guess, I'd say late 1700's, early 1800's. There are a lot of chips of the"japanned" edges. Some of the pictures make the chips look lighter than it actually looks in person. I had an estimate of apx. $500 to repair the chips. A cylindrical lidded cold cream jar 7x7.5cm with similar specifics to the other screw top jars- the edge of the lid has 3 small scratches together in the silver. The slight age imperfections show a vivid red colored wood underneath. This piece is very detailed and as a whole it measures: 14 3/4" W 7 1/2" H 9" D The drawer measures approximately 5"W. 8" D, 2 1/2"H. It is jeweled on the top and front. The side rails are 2 3/4" tall and the corner posts are 3 3/4" tall. The two front corner posts are also jeweled. We think may be poplar, but uncertain. This vanity we believe is 1940's. It is an older piece with a really cool retro look! It has some normal knicks and wear that can be expected, It adds character to the vanity. But overall, the finish is in really good condition. It is missing a couple of the roller wheels on the bottom and two pieces of the mirror up top. And we believe it should have a detailed piece of trim over each of the missing mirror pieces and those are not there as well. The new owner will need to replace the mirror and trim. But for the age, it's awesome! It is very sturdy and would make someone a very nice vanity. It measures approximately 30.25"H ... morex 39.75W x 17"D. From bottom to top of mirror measures 65.75"H. We have taken pics of it sitting inside the shed and also out in the sunlight. There is a glare that looks like discoloration, this is from the sunlight and reflection of the mirror. An exceptional Art Deco 6 piece sterling silver and guilloche enamel dressing table set consisting of 4 brushes.1 hand mirror and 1 comb. Condition is excellent with just a minor nibble to top surface of the very tip of mirror handle which does not go all the way through and to be honest is a very minor imperfection. Hallmarked from 1934. Makers mark has been marked on the majority of pieces close to edge so between a poor place to stamp it and general rubbing from polishing the mark can now not be made out, The comb all be it is the same year has makers mark of K&L, The other 5 pieces are not by K&L as we can see a differant shape to the makers mark. STERLING Silver Hair Brush/ Ornate Victorian Edwardian Dressing Table*gorgeous Victorian/Edwardian era hair brush. It is labeled"Sterling Silver" right above handle. As you can see in the picture above. the bristles seem to be natural and the base where the bristles are anchored seems to be wood. I am not an expert though. So this is just my best guess. Brush is in good condition. Bristles seem to be firmly anchored. Although the wood part of the brush does wiggle a bit inside the silver casing. There is dust inside the bristle part of the brush and some tarnishing/wear on the silver aspects, but it is still amazing for over 100 years old! Here are five vintage carved cow bone ladies dressing table accessories comprising glove stretcher. Combination button hook& shoe horn, hair brush, clothes brush and smaller shoe horn. The longest piece- the combination button hook/ shoe horn measures 11 3/4 inches long x 1 1/2 inches wide and the hair brush measures 8 3/4 inches long x 1 3/4 inches wide. All five pieces have a combined weight of 376 grams and they date to around the early 1900's. The smaller shoe horn is engraved with initials but they are slightly faded. All five dressing table pieces are in good condition with no nicks, chips or damage and the bristles on the two brushes are also in good condition. The five pieces do show some natural graining cracks, small surface marks and blemishes all associated with age and use but nothing that detracts in any way. This is a I:12 dollhouse scale set made by the use of gilt transfers on the dressing table and table. The chairs and sofa are of lesser quality with glued on cardboard trim. The antique Ivory dresser tray is rare. However, with it's bottles and containers. The dresser is 5" high and 3" wide. The sofa is 4" long and the chairs 3 1/2" tall. Vintage German Dressing Table Powder Box - Musical - Gold Metal - Works!
Offered is this beautiful musical powder box for a lady's dressing table. In gold tone. The box is about 3 1/2 inches in diameter and about that tall. The lid has a mirror on the underside. The powder box has a powder(or trinket) receptacle of about 7/8 in. deep. Under that in a sealed base is a wind-up music box. It is in excellent vintage condition(probably dates to early 1940's if not earlier. The box works. Though I can't identify the tune. The surface of the outside of the box is goldtone metal with an etched band of bird shapes in a mirrored pattern around the middle of the box. Narrow concentric rings pattern the lid. I believe in the 1950's. The off-white pottery is decorated with a blue stenciled lace pattern. Both lamps retain their original manufacturers' stickers from the company Savage California. These small lamps are perfect for each end of a dresser or dressing table. Measurements: 11 in tall(to top of sockets) 6 in wide bowls PLEASE NOTE: A lamp shade and light bulb are not included in this listing. CONDITION: The working lamps are in good condition. With no damage. One pitcher and bowl has crazing. The blue on one lamp is slightly blue-green. One lamp is about 3/8 in taller than the other. The metal hardware(as seen in the last photo) is different colors ... morefor each lamp. I haven't rewired the lamps- and although I see no visible damage, as with all electrical items I sell, I recommend having the wiring checked by a professional, and replaced if recommended. Vintage Rare Liddle Kiddle Doll Little People Copies Shrimpies w/Dressing Table
Doll and accessories appear to have never been removed from card. Strings are still attached. The dome is still sealed along the bottom, but age has loosened the board around three sides. The dome has dents, scuffs and dirt. Doll has wires protruding from both hands. The board is in good condition. There are some stains, obvious signs of age and a couple tears where stickers have been removed. The board does not lay flat. The bottom two corners tip up.
