What fun I had making this great Prim Cupboard Cat and Pumpkin set. But after seeing the photos I realized that I forgot to sew the little rusty bell to the end of the tail! I'll be doing that in a minute! Both the cat and pumpkin are made from painted muslin that got a good grunging! Lots of aging. Baking, sanding, and cinnamon! The little cat has a pinch stitched nose, button eyes, and stiff thread whiskers. A homespun rag tie is tied around his neck along with a vintage look hang tag. The little grungy pumpkin pal has button eyes and a primly stitched nose and mouth and a twig for a stem. The pumpkin is a little thing, just 7” wide and 4” tall including the stem. I sat an old Shaker Cinnamon Jar filled with Cinnamon in the left corner of the shelf. I leaned a Rusty Pie Tin against the back of the shelf& wall. I folded Three hand towels tied them with twine and tucked them in front of the pie tin. On the far right I sat an aged wood Candle Stick topped with one of my hand dipped spice rolled Candle Nubby's. I bundled three more of my Candle Nubby's with twine and tucked them in front of the candle stick. On the left I tucked in a darling Tin scoop. On the second shelf I Labeled three Brown Stoneware Crocks with Herb labels and tucked them in on the second shelf. Behind the first Crock I tucked in a tin Strainer. Between the other two crocks I tucked in a folded Hand Towel tied with twine and two aged wood spoons. I bundled some Cinnamon Sticks and tucked them between the first two crocks. On the Bottom shelf I Labeled three larger Brown Stoneware Crocks. Coffee~Flour~Sugar~ and sat them across the shelf. Under the Cupboard shelves you will find a Towel Rack. This is a nice quality wooden cabinet with unique and interesting vertical handles on the drawers. It's a deep rich red stain color and parts of it have even darker color. The cabinet is in good shape for it's age and has a number of nicks. Dings and scrapes on it as you can see in the pictures. There is a noticeable color difference in the wood on the drawers and also between the drawers and the top and sides. The drawers have high sides on them as you can see in the pictures except for one drawer where one high side has broken in half and the top of the side of the drawer is missing. It has worn spots. Edge wear, scratches and nicks as you'd expect from and item of this age. It's old but we're ... morenot sure how old. On the inside of the drawers is written"Mr. Mueller" and"8-16-26" We anticipate that this is when Mr. Mueller obtained it and that it was in 1926. The lower right door sticks a little when you try to pull it out but the others work fine. The cabinet measures 31.75" W x 16.5" W x 20.25" H. The drawers measures 8.75" W x 14.5" D x 7" H inside. The inside of the drawers will hold a 6" x 8" card vertically. The cabinet weighs 60 lbs. which is a testament to it's quality. It's a very interesting piece! Thank you for looking at this item. Large Signed L&JG Stickley Sideboard Circa 1912 Extra long version of this form with plate rail backsplash. Four center drawers flanked by two cabinet doors over a long linen drawer. Extra 10” in length gives this design an appealing horizontality compared to the shorter version. This design was intended to compete with the eight-leg sideboard offered by Craftsman Furniture. Cabinet doors are frame-and-panel construction with spade-tip strap hinges. Doors and drawers have original hammered copper pulls. The design features deep over-hanging spline-joined top of 5/4” stock. Curved lower apron, pinned joints and frame-and-panel construction on the sides which echoes that of the cabinet doors. The back splash and the facing of the doors and drawers is dramatic and well-matched. The cabinets each contain a removable shelf. The cabinet door locks function smoothly and the original key is included. There is a repair to the framing upright just to the left of the right door pull. It may be a split caused by pulling on the cabinet door while locked, since the repair occurs where the bolt enters the upright. It seems that a portion of this upright has been re-glued. There are four light water rings on the top and one possible burn ring(see photo) There is some edge roughness to the righthand door bottom and area of cabinet opening. There is a narrow 2” scratch on the top to the left of center. Closing magnets have been added to the cabinet doors at some time; the magnet has been removed from the right door. Looks to have been made from an old packing crate(see photo of the bottom which says Imported Candied Citron Broken) with those box dovetails you see on ammo boxes, New paint. Distressed and waxed. Whoever painted it went over the inside edge of the door- you can paint or sand off so it looks a bit neater. Can either hang or sit on a counter. Table, or is high enough to be used as a side table with storage inside, No issues. Other than what looks to have been a crack on the back panel, filled in and painted over, so secure. This is a beautiful Drexel piece from an estate sale. The main lower storage compartment has a lock. So would be perfect as a liquor cabinet or storage for fine china or? It has a set back shelf, rounded in the middle front center to provide easy access to all areas of storage inside this piece. The top lifts up to reveal another storage area perfect for silver, more china, or just a great hidden compartment for anything. The lid locks open when open all the way. It's in great shape except for some light circular markings on the top where someone most likely set a lamp. Not noticeable unless you look at it in the right light. Piece measures approximately 45 1/4" wide at the base; 19" deep; 46 3/4" tall overall height; 34 1/4" to top of base; sink recess is 5" deep; four small drawers measure 6 1/2" long by 6 7/8" wide by 1 5/8" deep for storage; one long drawer measures 16 1/2" long by 8 7/8" wide by 2 3/4" deep for storage. Gently used but does have a few minor scratches and dings. Cracked board on top was repaired with wood filler at some point but crack is evident again. Very nicely finished. 1800s Primitive Southern Walnut Jelly Cupboard. Dark and beautiful. Large and heavy walnut jelly cupboard for all your canned jellies- or whatever your pleasure! Constructed with wooden pegs, hand-forged nails. Drawers are dovetailed and doors have mortise and tenon joints with a wooden toggle opener. Here's a real rarity from an estate in Chester County, Pennsylvania. A fabulous antique. A large cupboard made of solid walnut and with the most splendid original black walnut figured panelled doors. No venners on this beauty, even the interior shelves and the back of this cupboard all all made of thick and wide beautiful solid walnut boards that have lovely figuring. Early Chester County Pennsylvania cased furniture made of Walnut with this fabulous feathered graining to the wood is rare to come across. And this is truly a spectacular example. A friend who is quite ... moreknowledgeable about Chester County antique cased furniture tells us that it has the attributes of Richard Riley. Riley was a joiner in the Lower Chichester Township of Chester County in the late 1700's. He died in 1820) Both the manner in which it was joined and the superior quality of the wood can perhaps be attributed to his workshop. All original. Nothing replaced. It has mortised and tenon joints throughout. Shows it's age handsomely, a rich mellow patina to this most desirable wood. A very large cupboard. Measures 44" across including the cornice and 36" high, it's 10" deep back to front. The interior has three shelves that are each 6" deep. They are in graduated heights.
