This paint decorated hanging pie safe is absolutely untouched and in it's original painted condition! C. 1875-1880 The owner of this item before me was George and Gordon of Raccoon Creek antiques. Those two fellas have the most discriminating eyes in the business! The graining is WONDERFUL! It measures 33" high. 28" wide and 17.5" deep. It is trimmed in original red paint. The screens are copper! The Interior shelv ing is also original to this piece. I have this piece sitting in a corner of my living room with a big glass lamp on the top with assorted other antiques. Simple molding on top and straight sides that curve at the bottom elevating it so that if you should choose to set it on the floor would serve as legs and hung on the wall in a corner they would display the simple architectural lines of the cupboard. Top and back are unpainted wood that tells the age of this sweet piece. Exterior is painted old reddish color with a turquoise interior and underside. There appears to b white paint under th e interior paint. Paint was done a long time ago. Not original to the period. There is a hole at each level on either side. And one in the center back for hanging purposes. These holes appear to be original. At one time there possibly was a door that covered this cupboard ... morebut was likely removed to use to display items. A slight indentation on the right side is tell tale of a door that is likely to have covered the opening of this cupboard. A nice 1700"s to early 1800's dense yellow pine corner cupboard. It has two long full length door's with raised panels. Doors are mortised and the hinges are reset. It retains some red wash and some black trim color with traces of some white. The interior is fitted with 5 shelves and retains a nice oxidized color. The back of the cupboard boasts over 50 large rosette nails and retains a oxidized color. Right top wood has some splitting and roughness. There are some nail holes and overall shows some wear. Dimensions are 44 1/4 inches across and 73 1/2 inches high. You can leave the finish as is or repaint to your taste. You are welcome to examine this on site. Look at the pictures to see condition. This sideboard is all wood and has all the original hardware. Not sure of the wood type or what the pulls are made of. No manufacturer name. The back is unfinished. Beautifully carved. Large. Deep drawers. Shelf inside each cabinet. I'm not an antiques dealer. This is a family heirloom from my Grandparents home. I am the second owner. I wish I knew more about it. Could have been made in France or the US. Not sure. 60 long x 22 deep x 38 high. The carved piece in the upper middle is 4 inches high. Also see the listing for matching table and chairs. The item for sale is a reclaimed door cupboard etc knob that is in a very good reclaimed condition and is being sold as seen so please study the photo as it forms part of the description. The knob looks to be bronze as opposed to brass. The knob is approx. 34mm wide and 62mm tall sticks out approx. 53mm- the shaft does have a grub screw which has a well worn head- the shaft that is seen is approx. 66mm long and 7mm square. No makers name that i can see. Will be posted using a cardboard box. Please see my other lock escutcheons etc i am selling as i will combine postage where possible.
