Description of item for sale: This unusual buffet is from the Normandy region of France and it dates to ... morethe late 1800's or possibly early 1900's. It's in the style of Louis XVI with classic carvings of flowers and ribbons. The wood is solid oak with a warm medium/dark finish. This cabinet is in very good antique condition with no damage of any significance but with the usual small nicks and scratches one sees in 100+ year old furniture. There is absolutely no woodworm or dry rot. This is a two piece cabinet. Note that the base cabinet has sagged slightly in the middle so that there is a small gap between the top and bottom sections in the center(see photos) Dimensions: 87" high. 52" wide and 18.5" deep. Please be sure to check at the bottom of this listing to see if any corrections or answers to questions have been posted. This is a very nice solid oak court cupboard. l would like to say it circa 1690. But lam not sure if the carving on the top is original. l bought it in England. And thought it was a fantastic cupboard. looking at the cupboard it is very old and l think its certainly a few hundred years old. But in the Victorian days they used to alter things, so it gives me the impression that it could have been altered maybe 100 years ago. So lam selling it as it is. Lts still a great piece of furniture and the carvings are superb. The top comes of the base so it is easy to transport. 58 wide. 18 deep, 75 high.

The wood is still in sound condition but it is surely showing it's age in certain places. The wood that is showing it's age the most is at the bottom of both sides. They have the old flat head screws that you like to see on these old pieces, the hinges are working fine and the cabinet latch does move in and out but the knob itself is rusted and does not turn. We didn't clean the cabinet or apply any rust solvent to the lock or hinges because we didn't want to change the original condition that we found it in. It would need a good and careful cleaning(if you want to) as it is dirty from all the years it was used and from being in the house while no one was living there. Beautiful antique Hoosier style/type of kitchen cupboard/cabinet for sale. This beautiful piece of wood furniture appears to be either pine or maple. But not sure. It has a wonderful natural wood, fine, soft finish, fine wood details, beautifully curved lower drawers, turned legs, and very nice wood knobs, all of which make this piece of furniture stand out and complement it's character beautifully. Displays of antique jars, tins, cans look terrific on the cupboard/cabinet! I have owned this cupboard/cabinet since the early 1970's and believe it to be one of the nicest antique kitchen cupboard/cabinets that I have ever seen and that is available for sale today.

1890s Pine Blind Stepback Cupboard Antique
We have enjoyed this cabine for over 40 years. Now it's time for new owners to step forward. Dimensions are 80 in tall as shown in first photo. It is 20 in deep at the lower section and 13 in deep at the upper section. It is 51 in wide. Pine is the primary wood with oak wainscotting on the back. It has had some restoration with like antique oak wainscotting board for the repair. You will need a pick up truck or van to carry it. Yes it has scratches and nicks, it has been used but it will last another 100 years! Local pick up in Chicago's western suburbs. It is located on ground floor. No stairs. We are near to I-355. Up for auction is a Beautiful Antique Victorian Carved and Stamped Wooden Wall Shelf that measures approx. 40" x 30" tall x 8 9/16" deep. It has fantastic workmanship with each shelf being dovetailed as well as the beautifully decorated ends. Carved on the bottom front crest is 1892. There is the initials FAM on one side and UM on the other. Most likely made as a Wedding Gift. Extremely Beautiful and Extremely Usable with condition being good considering it's age, with various areas of damage including missing sections, splitting(especially on the shelves) and paint remnants on the back as shown as well as some expected warping to the shelves. English oak sideboard or serving cupboard circa. 1810. Rustic. With two apron drawers over two blind cupboard doors, on bracket feet. Simple but elegant. The photos show the front. Top, the inside of a drawer, and the inside of the two doors. Measures 51" wide by 21.5" deep by 38" high. Weight estimated at 130 lb. Provenance unknown. It has been in the family for 20+ years. Appraised in 1992 at $2,500. Condition is very good as can be seen in the photos. But sold as-is with wear appropriate to its age. Additional photos available on request.
