The broken-arch pediment is striking and unusual. The thin arms lifting from the molded top in a cresting wave, curling into fine inlaid pinwheel rosettes; these opposing waves of the pediment flank a fine inlaid pointed urn finial raised on a plinth base of conforming inlay. The arched door is crafted with through-tenon joinery, the fragile corners supported with butterfly dovetails on the inside(possibly later) it features twelve glazed panels framed in scratched-bead walnut astragals, opening on original hinges to reveal a shelved interior. Each shelf is channeled to display plates and platters, the front edge of each shelf molded, one shelf crafted to hold utensils in the front edge. The case has outstanding proportions. These eased by the thick molding around the waist and the inlaid band around the shoulders- this easily divides the visual planes of the piece into graduated levels that are easier for the eye to digest. The bottom of the case has a pair of solid walnut doors framed in a matching inlaid band, each embellished with inlaid shield escutcheons to match the arched door, these opening to reveal a shelved interior. The entire case rests over original bracket feet. The construction of the case is very fine. The pair of stiles on either side of the case joined in some kind of hidden dovetail or butt-joint, running from just an inch above the ground through the molding of the crest. Made in England. Circa 1980 Bevan Funnel Yew wood Gothic arched doors Includes key Excellent condition, There are several unusual features to this lovely corner cabinet. First. The wood used is yew wood. Yew wood is a native English wood that is not common, but has many of the same features as maple. The second unusual feature is that we know who made this corner cabinet. Usually English furniture does not include a maker’s mark. On the inside of the lower door is the mark for Bevan Funnel, a very prestigious English furniture firm still in business today. We have dated this particular model to sometime around 1980. From the Gothic arches on the glass doors to the sturdy bracket feet. No attention to detail was spared on this corner cabinet. Inside the top section are two adjustable wooden shelves. They adjust via a brass pin and hole system. The lower cabinet contains one wooden shelf. Both cabinet doors lock and one key is included. A moulded cornice crowns the top while a recessed panel door with trim really shows of the attractive qualities of yew wood. The fact that after over 30 years this yew wood corner cabinet is still in excellent condition is a testament to the quality of skill and care that went into its construction. It has survived with no noticeable wear and would make an excellent addition to any room of your home! This yew wood corner cabinet would look great in any corner of the home! Plenty of display and storage space that all locks with included key. Here is the label from Bevan Funnel. On the inside of the lower door. The moulded cornice looks great on top. Description: This listing is for a ... moreChippendale Period Slant Front Desk circa 1770-80. Salem Massachusetts, in the manner of John Chipman(b. 1746-1819) It features solid Cuban Mahogany case, each side crafted of a single solid plank, through-dovetailed at the top and dovetailed at the bottom. The slant front lid features an original keyhole escutcheon over what appears to be the original brass lock, falling onto arms that slide out with brass knobs- one original, the left one replaced. The open writing surface is clean, with what appear to be two original brass hinges, though curious patching is noted below flaking each hinge. Above the writing surface is a collection of nine small drawers, the centermost shell carved, each with brass knobs, below which a gallery of six pigeon holes rest in perfect symmetry. The case has four graduated drawers. Each of which feature period bail pull brass hardware flanking a replaced lock with original brass keyhole escutcheon. The drawers are hand dovetailed front and back, the front dovetails hidden behind applied cockbead molding. The drawers are yellow pine secondaries, the bottom being deeply chamfered along the perimeter to rabbet into the frame. They slide easily in and out of the case over replaced drawer runners, the drawer dividers running into the sides behind a mahogany facade, effectively hiding what are probably dovetail joints. The back of the case has all original backboards, though many nails are replaced. The molded apron features a carved shell drop down medallion in the center that mirrors the design of the middle drawer. The case rests over scroll cut bracket feet, each with an incredible flowing design in the manner of John Chipman. We do not believe the desk was executed in the shop of John Chipman. As his cases will typically feature exposed dovetail drawer dividers in the Newport manner, and the pidgeon-hole gallery will regularly featur

Neat brass pineapple motif pull and ball hinges. Towel bar has slight warp and is in good working order. Door opens and closes freely. Nice scalloped top shelf, two shelves with lip. Nice beveled mirror which has a little ghosting and few scratches but also in good working condition. Inside of cabinet has a glavanized back and chippy, cream paint. This is a very nice solid oak court cupboard. l would like to say it circa 1690. But lam not sure if the carving on the top is original. l bought it in England. And thought it was a fantastic cupboard. looking at the cupboard it is very old and l think its certainly a few hundred years old. But in the Victorian days they used to alter things, so it gives me the impression that it could have been altered maybe 100 years ago. So lam selling it as it is. We acquired and removed it off the wall of an Old North Carolina Farmhouse. Own a piece of Early Americana Farm History! This may be your last chance to own a rare original piece from these old houses as most have been torn down and there are only a handful of these houses left standing. It is perfect for displaying in a Country Style Farmhouse Kitchen. Bathroom or in the Home. This old. Well used cabinet measures 23" Tall x 15 3/4" wide at it's widest point x 6 1/4" in depth. The door measures 19 1/2" x 10" With the glass measuring 16" tall x 6 1/4" wide. The shelves measure 12" wide x 5 1/2" deep. It has the original crackled ... moreantique white paint with a coat of grey on top and the top coat is a green color that is reminiscent of the 1950's and 60's green paint. They had painted the green paint on the glass at some time and it is still intact in places. We couldn't get the back of the cabinet off the wall so it is still in the house, you can add your own 1/4" thick wood panel if you want a back on the cabinet. The wood is still in sound condition but it is surely showing it's age in certain places. The wood that is showing it's age the most is at the bottom of both sides. The hinges and lock are old and rusty. They have the old flat head screws that you like to see on these old pieces, the hinges are working fine and the cabinet latch does move in and out but the knob itself is rusted and does not turn. We didn't clean the cabinet or apply any rust solvent to the lock or hinges because we didn't want to change the original condition that we found it in. It would need a good and careful cleaning(if you want to) as it is dirty from all the years it was used and from being in the house while no one was living there. Beautiful antique Hoosier style/type of kitchen cupboard/cabinet for sale. This beautiful piece of wood furniture appears to be either pine or maple. But not sure. It has a wonderful natural wood, fine, soft finish, fine wood details, beautifully curved lower drawers, turned legs, and very nice wood knobs, all of which make this piece of furniture stand out and complement it's character beautifully. Displays of antique jars, tins, cans look terrific on the cupboard/cabinet! I have owned this cupboard/cabinet since the early 1970's and believe it to be one of the nicest antique kitchen cupboard/cabinets that I have ever seen and that is available for sale today.

1890s Pine Blind Stepback Cupboard Antique
We have enjoyed this cabine for over 40 years. Now it's time for new owners to step forward. Dimensions are 80 in tall as shown in first photo. It is 20 in deep at the lower section and 13 in deep at the upper section. It is 51 in wide. Pine is the primary wood with oak wainscotting on the back. It has had some restoration with like antique oak wainscotting board for the repair. You will need a pick up truck or van to carry it. Yes it has scratches and nicks, it has been used but it will last another 100 years! Local pick up in Chicago's western suburbs. It is located on ground floor. No stairs. We are near to I-355. Up for auction is a Beautiful Antique Victorian Carved and Stamped Wooden Wall Shelf that measures approx. 40" x 30" tall x 8 9/16" deep. It has fantastic workmanship with each shelf being dovetailed as well as the beautifully decorated ends. Carved on the bottom front crest is 1892. There is the initials FAM on one side and UM on the other. Most likely made as a Wedding Gift. Extremely Beautiful and Extremely Usable with condition being good considering it's age, with various areas of damage including missing sections, splitting(especially on the shelves) and paint remnants on the back as shown as well as some expected warping to the shelves. Charming 200 year-old English Oak Serving Cupboard (or Linen Chest).Great patina
English oak sideboard or serving cupboard circa. 1810. Rustic. With two apron drawers over two blind cupboard doors, on bracket feet. Simple but elegant. The photos show the front. Top, the inside of a drawer, and the inside of the two doors. Measures 51" wide by 21.5" deep by 38" high. Weight estimated at 130 lb. Provenance unknown. It has been in the family for 20+ years. Appraised in 1992 at $2,500. Condition is very good as can be seen in the photos. But sold as-is with wear appropriate to its age. Additional photos available on request.
