Danish Modern Teak Credenza ACO Mobler Axel Christensen Mid Century Tambor Door
Offered is this mid century Danish modern tambor door credenza. Vintage 1960's era made by ACO Mobler and probably designed by Axel Christensen. Sleek lines with a minimalist design made with beautiful teak solids and veneers. The tambor doors slide open easily revealing a shelf on each side for storage. Condition is very good with minor flaws and age associated wear but not a detraction and still looks fantastic. The top and sides are clean with no stains or rings. There is a small bump and scratch on the left side door and a few small thin veneer chips on the back edge that were touched up. Measurements are 59" long by 18" deep and 31" high. There are pre-drilled holes in the iron base to attach the cabinet(cabinets are not attached to each other or the base and no screws are included) The four drawer dresser section has the original aluminum finger pulls. The top cabinet has two sliding doors(removable) with melamine or formica surface with an aluminum edge. Both are reversible. Took these off a very heavy. Extremely high quality early 1960's Herman Miller credenza. I couldn't save the top, so I'm selling the legs. They are extremely stout and sturdy, and could easily hold hundreds and hundreds of pounds. They each have adjustable-height feet and brass end-caps. I see the thinner ones around a lot more, but these are hard to come by. Some surface nicks and abrasions, but absolutely complete, mounting bolts strong, and not cracked anywhere. Florence Knoll Mid Century Modern Credenza in Walnut and Chrome
This is a credenza designed by Florence Knoll and made by Knoll. It is a wonderful example of the Bauhaus ideals of her design work. She resisted being called a furniture designer and self-deprecatingly described her furniture designs as“architectural fill-ins” for the gaps around the designs of other designers in the Knoll catalog like Harry Bertoia. Eero Saarinen, Mies Van Der Rohe, Isamu Noguchi etc. Yet the designs themselves have proven her wrong. Beyond the overall form and her leather pull handles. Which are a very well thought out softening of the“touch-points” of the design, this model credenza is quite variable. It was available with a wood, linoleum, or marble top. The legs were either chrome steel, black steel, wooded legs, or even no legs as a floating wall mount. The doors were wood, or white lacquer. With a beautiful walnut case and walnut bypass doors, chrome steel legs, and all three optional bays(stack of drawers, hanging file drawer, and electronics tray) The interior is all oak. The drawers in the stack are all solid oak fronts and sides, with dovetail construction. They also have built in drawer stops, so you can’t accidentally pull the drawer all the way out and drop it. The hanging file drawer has metal slides to bear the extra weight. The pull-out electronics tray also has metal slides and the bay has a hole for cords. All the extra space in the bays has holes for the shelf hanger clips, so the pair of shelves can be re-arranged to match your needs. This was an inherited piece and I am planning a cross country move in which I am afraid of damaging it. I do have an appraisal done in 2007 for 4000.00. I had purchased some other pieces from a Orlando dealer and he was so taken with this piece and concerned that I had not insured it that without my asking about a week later this appraisal showed up in the mail. I think he mentioned French in origin. Everyone who sees the piece is in awe and I am sure that the photos dont come near capturing how impressive it is. Vintage midcentury credenza made by Basic-Witz. Waynesburo,VA. This is perfect size for a small space. The credenza is 5 1/2 feet tall and 4 feet across. The bottom section is 15 inches deep and the top section is 12 1/2 inches deep. This piece separates into two parts for easy moving. The bottom cabinet doors are covered in a lovely woven cane pattern in wonderful condition. The two drawers slide easily and are finished with brass pull. MID-CENTURY MODERN SCANDINAVIAN DESIGN G-PLAN SIDEBOARD CREDENZA LARGE TV STAND
Here is an absolutely delightful and somewhat rare to find mid-century Danish Modern design teak sideboard or credenza by the Gomme Furniture Company. England, who switched gears from their former simple quality traditional design furniture to compete in the new rapidly growing market of the times and specialized in manufacturing quality teak mid-century Danish Modern design furniture during the late 1950's through 1970's, featuring their G-Plan furniture. This sideboard is one of a number pieces of G-Plan by Gomme furniture and other Danish Modern design furniture manufactured by other high end furniture makers in UK at the time, who were all making quality teak mid-century furniture to sell within the United Kingdom at the time and, most recently, imported through Edinburgh, Scotland by my consignor. As stated in the description ... moreof condition above, this piece is in very nice condition, in it's original finish and free of any major damage or issues as shown in my multiple pictures, included in an attempt to accurately represent the design, quality, condition and overall beauty of this gorgeous mid-century teak credenza. This piece is part of the G-Plan Fresco Range line, designed for Gomme in the 1960's by Victor Bramwell Wilkins with each piece of beautiful teak furniture in the line contrasted with darker afromosia teak frames. Handles and legs. This sideboard stands 28 inches tall and measures 78 inches long by 18 inches deep. Front to back. In addition to it's traditional use, this one would also make a terrific very large flat screen TV stand with cabinet below. This sideboard has three drawers running down the center, each 29 inches wide by 14 inches deep, front to back and 4 inches deep. Behind the two doors on each end, the side cabinets measure 22 1/2 inches wide by 16 1/2 inches deep front to back and 16 inches tall.
