Antique Oak Bow Front China Curio Display Cabinet 4 Shelves
Very nice antique bow front china cabinet. It is made of oak and has 4 shelves. It is in good condition with some imperfections-it has a small hole that was cut out of the back and patched with veneer-you can't see it from the front as the bottom shelf is right in front of it. There is a slight separation of the wood on the top as seen in picture. The side pieces are glass; however. The door has a piece of Lexan in it-this was placed because curved glass is very expensive. Lexan is a very tough polycarbonate that is barely distinguishable from glass-you really cannot tell the difference when you look at it. I was told it is easy to take care of but not to use paper towels or ammonia on it. Of course, you could always replace it with glass if you didn't like it. It has a key, but it doesn't lock. Overall, these imperfections are ... morenot that noticeable-I just like to be up front and point everything out. The exterior had just been refinished, and we paid $2,795 plus tax for it, so that we could have a beautiful cabinet to store my wife's art pottery collection. It was made by Basic-Witz. Waynesboro, VA. The top of the base is finished. The thick beveled edged top enhances the gorgeous grain and patina of this piece. Two upper glass doors on the top piece. One on each side of the center panel sits over a lower base with 3 drawers and a 2 doors gives a distinct and wonderful feel with ample storage. The beautiful walnut grain really highlights and showcases the entire flow and feel of this piece. Simple lines are evident throughout this piece. Up for bid is a china cabinet. I inherited it from Mother but have no room for it. It is heavy. Made of wood, and has etched glass doors. The cabinet is lighted, has shelves inside and storage shelves behind doors on the bottom. There is also very cute"mini shelves" running up the outside of the cabinet. See picture#3. I have the dimensions 20" Wide 66 1/2" length and 84" high to the top of the mirror. 70" without the mirror. This has glass in the doors and we have the glass but it was removed to move the cabinet and can be left out for you to move it or can be installed back in the cabinet. This China cabinet has been in my family for over 40 yrs. Unfortunately it just doesn't fit in my scaled down home. Original finish. Full mirrored back with 4 glass shelves. One very small piece of carving missing on the top less than a half inch. Otherwise in wonderful condition for a piece this old. Griffins are on each side of the door.
