Oak Sideboard Buffet, Heavily Carved, European French Country
First off. We are not furniture dealers. This beautiful antique piece has graced our home for over 20 years. Time goes by and we are downsizing, so it's important to us that this set end up with someone who will appreciate its beauty and respect its workmanship as much as we do. We bought this set as a favor to a friend. We do not know how old it is or where it was manufactured. Dealers selling similar pieces on Ebay have used the description Vintage French Country. What we do know is that this piece is very well built. It's all tongue and groove. The only hardwareare the hinges. Handles and lock mechanisms and those are all solid brass. We also have a very decorative brass key that fit all the locks. This piece is solid oak with a medium finish. The parquet top on the sideboard is solid. Not veneer. The piece is heavily carved with ... moregorgeous detail. The legs are curved with carved detail. Pictures do not do this piece justice. The flaws mentioned are mostly hardly noticeable. We mention the bumps and bruises so that somebody is not expecting a flawless set. However we highly encourage personal inspection of these items to see exactly for Sideboard Buffet 94 1/4" long. 23 1/8 deep, 38 1/2" tall, separate carved back piece 9" high. The top of the sideboard is solid parquet. There are 4 lockable solid wood doors. Each with wonderful grain and carving. There are removable and adjustable shelves. The shelves are adjusted by wooden slats placed into wooden slots. There are two lockable drawers in the middle. Inside the left door there are two more drawers, on for flatware and one that we have never been able to open. Front legs are curved and beautifully carved. The backing of the sideboard appears to be the same solid wood with the same beautiful grain as the door panels. One of the backing panels came out of its grooves. It is intact with no damage. This auction is for a very rare Irish enamel badge from the First World War. The Soldiers and Sailors Refreshment Buffet in Dublin was located at the London and North Western Railway station on the North Wall in Dublin. The badge is approx 30mm in diameter and it is in very good condition. The only problem with the badge being that it is missing its retaining clip as you can see from photo three. Photos four and five show views of a photo from my own collection of the ladies and gentlemen of the Soldiers and Sailors Refreshment Buffet in Dublin taken during the First World War and as you can see they are all wearing this type of badge. It has a ding on the top left that has been repaired. There three noticeable scratches on the top that I show in the photos. There is also a scratch on the front top ridge you will see in the photos. Otherwise light wear around the bottom of legs and inconspicuous wear to be expected with its age. The buffet looks great and from two feet the only damage that draws the eye is the scratch in front. Made in 1904, serial#T596. We are selling this instrument for a local professional player who is now semi-retired. This clarinet is*NOT* in restored condition and has some areas of wear. This clarinet DOES play as-is. But will need some repairs in order to play as well as it could. This instrument is being sold AS-IS. There is*NO* warranty with this instrument. The upper joint of the instrument has two cracks that have been pinned. The first runs from the upper tenon shoulder straight down to the register key's left post. The second crack starts from the upper tenon shoulder. Passes through the C-trill key tone hole and continues down into the Bb-trill key ... moretone hole. Both of these cracks have been previously repaired. The lower joint of the clarinet has four cracks on the interior of the tenon socket. There are also two cracks in the tenon of the lower joint approximately one inch long. The bell of the instrument has three small cracks in the tenon socket. The barrel of the instrument is*NOT* original. There is*NO* mouthpiece included. ONLY the two cracks in the upper section at the top of the joint have been repaired. Appraised over thirty years ago and they said it was over 140 years old then. Selling due to medical bills. I inherited the pieces. Seats recovered thirty years ago, navy. Only one leaf. Very heavy. Buffet Professional S1 Bb Wooden Clarinet - Refurbished (1973 Vintage)
Matching serial numbers 136153 indicating a 1973 silver plated manufacture. Wood is good with no cracks. In addition. There is a small repair to the lower tenon of the lower joint. Plating here is not bad with very mild wear. Clarinet was dismantled, all dirt and grime flushed out. The wood was oiled with almond oil. The instrument was given all new double bladder pads, and adjusted. I changed the upper tenon of the upper joint. Corking and spring action is very good, and the clarinet plays with that very beautiful buffet sound up and down. The mouthpiece is the Selmer USA. The case may be original. Buffet Professional (1964) Vintage R13 Bb Wooden Clarinet - Vandoren 5RV Mp.
Matching serial numbers 79708 indicating a 1964 manufacture. Clarinet is nicely restored and the R13 speaks for itself. Wood is good with no cracks. There is some small wear to the plating here and there. But not bad. Clarinet was dismantled, all dirt and grime flushed out. The wood was oiled with almond oil. The instrument was given all new double bladder pads. The tenons are good. I replaced much of the corking. I also replaced the thumb rest with an adjustable thumb rest. Corking and spring action is good, and the clarinet plays with that really beautiful golden age buffet sound up and down. The mouthpiece is a Vandoren 5RV. Here's a good deal. You'll have fun with this pre-owned wood Buffet Evette clarinet. The serial number is E97421. Its stamp reads"Evette By Buffet. Made In France" it has; good wood. Shiny keys, sharp connection points on the tenons and a Buffet case. The case is missing the handle and is cracked but does the job. The barrel is plastic and, of course, not original. As I understand it, this model is very similiar to modern day Buffet E11. My untrained eye sees no evidence of past damage. Me? I'm not a music store/repairman. Late 50's Super Dynaction horn in good shape. Appears to have original pads. Recently looked over by restorer who said he didn't see the necessity of replacing the pads or to have the horn regulated. So here it is on eBay! George played this horn professionally in Houston and travelled with it overseas in the 80's and 90's. He is gone and he would have wanted this horn to be played again! 1960's Mid Century Danish Modern Teak Sideboard /Buffet Display Cabinet Dyrlund
We have been selling on ebay for over 15 years with 100% Positive Feedback 1960's Mid Century Danish Modern Teak Sideboard& Display Cabinet by Dyrlund of Denmark Up for auction is this extremely well preserved Solid Teak and original mid century Danish Modern Sideboard and Separate Display Cabinet(Made in the 1960's by Dyrlund of Denmark) and inspired by the design of Nils Johnson. This is a larger piece. With the sideboard measuring 87" wide 32" tall and 18" deep. The Display Cabinet sets separately on top of the sideboard with the two notched legs or stands. The display section is 70" wide x 25" high and 12" deep. The overall unit with all pieces in place stands 87" wide x 57" tall x 18" deep. The teak design even follows through to the back of both pieces and is finished. The bottom ... moresideboard has 5 drawers(one felt lined) and two sliding teak front panels. As you can see in photo 1, when the two doors are snugged one to the other, the grain pattern matches when the two bottom doors are butted together. The glass doors and shelves of the display cabinet are perfect. There is no splintered or missing sections. There are light surface scratches mainly on the very top of the display cabinet which are hard to see in the photos, but I do show them in the last few photos. There is a scratch on the top of the sideboard which shows in the 2nd last photo. This item is located in my home in Clearwater, Florida for pickup. RARE Vintage Heywood Wakefield Buffet WALNUT FINISH
This is a rare pre 50's Heywood Wakefield Buffet. Very few of these were made in this special finish(see pic#1 and 5) These were created for a large Michigan based retailer as a private label item. Most often these are found in the clear birch finish or the more light brown"wheat" finish(pictures 2 thru 4) This was obtained from an estate sale in Michigan about 10 years ago and has mostly been in storage. It is a great. Heavy and strongly built piece of furniture! There is one slight scuff on the left side of the top, which looks like a slight"steam" burn. Otherwise this piece is in incredible condition for it's vintage status and rarity! Local pickup requires two men and a truck. I don't know much about this other then what I showed in pictures. It's in good condition. No dents or dings, but there is tarnishing and some of the finish is worn off.
