The piece is pencil signed by the artist, and numbered#32/75. This is a exceedingly rare drypoint, it is similar to the more popular Bretonne" seaside, created at the same time. However, this piece was limited to 75 signed copies, where the other drypoint was much more prevalent and released in signed, but un-numbered editions. Measurements The lithograph measures 11.5" x 10" And the exposed paper is 12" x 14.5" The outer dimensions of the frame 18.5" x 21" Condition Report Overall. The piece is in excellent condition. Buffets were once seen as"the other French sax" and for a lot of people's money(in Europe) were considered equal to. If not better than, a Selmer. They're highly expressive Saxes. The S-1 was Buffet's most innovative and deluxe design for a saxophone. Especially the ergonomics are considered by many to be the best ever(Selmer included) The workmanship on this sax is particularly notable. It has a unique design on the low Eb and low C keys so that you can pivot your finger and switch without rollers. The low Bb key also shows some innovative(and comfortable) improvements(see detail pictures) Overall. The key work is great, and the horn is easy to play fast on. The neck is original and clean as well. It has a medium bright. This a 19th century antique mahogany sideboard with some solid mahogany. Some figured mahogany veneers and pine secondary. There are two drawers over what appears to be three doors but is actually two doors. The right hand drawer is a lined drawer for silver ware and the bottom section can be totally locked. Drawers are hand dovetailed and the bottoms of the drawers are chamfered. The columns are like double ended C scrolls and the feet are simple.typical mid 1800's Empire Revival piece. Height to top = 40 1/2" Width = 57" Depth at deepest = 24" The lock sets are original. They are the"same" lockset in that they are both either left handed or right handed as the key needs to be reversed to work each lock. They lock easily. The key has been replaced. It comes from a household filled with many Country/Shaker/ Mission/ Primitive AUTHENTIC antiques. It is beautifully hand carved with spindle legs adding warmth and usefulness to any home. We are not experts. And after much research we are still not certain if it is from the late 1800's or early 1900's. It is NOT a reproduction. It has a solid Primitive Americana look and feel. It seems to be either Jacobean or Tudor in style. There are some numbers stamped on the back. Some finishing nails and flathead screws were used in it's construction. The drawer is held together by dovetail grooves. See photos) There is some wear. But there is no evidence of any repairs or restoration. This is a Buffet Evette wooden clarinet. These are great horns. They are the predecessor to the very popular E11. This instrument has all new pads and 90% new key corks. Bonade ligature, and a swab. The plating on the keys is about 90% There is definitely some wear on the pinky keys. The tenon corks are good and there are no cracks. I did not do a good inspection and just set it back for adjustment and relisting. I discovered a tenon crack on the lower joint that protrudes to the hole. A drop of glue had been put over it. All of the keys and posts on the instrument were meticulously hand polished and individually cleaned. Our qualified technicians replaced the necessary pads and corks on this instrument, and properly adjusted and regulated the key mechanisms. A portion of the instrument has bladder skin pads, but there are cork pads on the register, G# side Bb, and inline Bb keys on the upper joint. Cork pads can be more costly, and more time consuming to install, but they are much more firm, handle moisture better, and generally last longer. The instrument shows no signs of cracking what-so-ever, and is ready to go! As you can see in the photos. This instrument comes in a sharp looking Protec Slimline case. Also included are two original Buffet Barrels(pictured) This clarinet has a great sonorous sound. It responds very well and speaks clearly throughout the entire range of the instrument.
