The piece comes in two parts. The four door- four drawer base, and the glass fronted top. It's the perfect mix of aesthetic beauty and practical usefulness and will add a touch of style and elegance to any interiors scheme. The piece has the characteristic Sheraton style inlay to the front with the urns and garlands gracing the front of each door. There is also a thin strip bordering the doors. Drawers and glass fronted doors. If you imagine how this inlay is created you can see how much skilled craftmanship and man hours goes into the making of this fine piece of furniture. Each piece of marquetry inlay design has to be cut out of the softer fruitwood and then embedded into the harder mahogany of the main structure. There is a lot of storage space. Great design with a"Pod" like open square shape and rounded corners. Appears to be made from a solid frame(possibly teak or rosewood- can't tell for sure) and features birch veneered plywood on the shelf surfaces and interior divider. Very sturdy! Features two adjustable shelves. 3 drawers with original vintage hardware. Measures: 44" Wide x 52" High x 20" Deep. It does feature a few minor nicks and dings but nothing major on the back portion of the frame which could be sanded and repaired pretty easily. Old Arts&Crafts Mission Oak Small Bookcase, thru slab with pegs
Up for auction today is this old Arts&Crafts Mission Oak bookcase. It measures 33 1/2" in height by 27" in total width. It measures 13 1/4" at the foot by 9" at the rounded top. The shelves go through the sides and are pegged with tapered half round pegs. There are no makers marks that I have found. This has an old varnish finish but I don't know about being original. I think not.The siderails are a full 1 1/8" thick. The top shelf is 8 15/16" deep, center is 9 3/4" deep and the bottom is11 1/8" deep with a small bumper board on the back edge. There are the normal nicks and dings and scratches from use and there are 2 splintered off areas on the siderails, see picture6&9. There is also some splintering at the feet see picture 8. There is a slight darkening at the feet as you would get from ... moremopping the floor around it. The white that you see in picture 4 is from the varnish being scraped. The old finish is very well preserved with lots of antique character- mars. Wear and shrinkage separations from age- see photos. Mahogany wood has delicate inlaid banding and warm patina. The top two drawers are false. They drop to form a desk top. This style of desk was often called a"butler's desk" in a large household, the butler was the head of staff and kept records in a desk like this. Rare antique Lundstrom barrister bookcase. This is a five piece stacking set with glass fronts. There is a base three graduating sections and a top with a small gallery edge. The unusual. Hard to find, narrow size of this great bookcase is what makes it so desirable. While most of these bookcases measure on average 34" wide; this one is a sweet size of 25 1/4" wide. It is made of solid oak, not veneers, with glass paned door fronts. Each section is stamped by the maker and the top piece still retains the original tag. There is some discoloration on the top(see photos) All doors are working properly. Measures 45 3/4" tall, 25 1/4" wide and 13 1/2" deep.

It features scrolled feet, two shelves in front, an unusual 16-1/2" deep x 3-1/4" wide rear section, lap joints where the sides meet the back, and is nicely proportioned throughout.
