This is a very cool Danner style bookcase which stands about 5' 8" tall. 4 Sided with clear acrylic or lucite tube slats. Looks to be made from veneered MDF or particle board. The shelves are made of have some sort of pliable but study plastic. Vinyl? Shelves are black in color. Piece could use a cleaning as it's pretty dusty and there is old label or sticker residue on one part. The black plastic or vinyl shelves have a few small dents or impressions. There is one section of the veneered MDF or particle board that has a hole and cracked(see pics) Also. In this same area the veneer has some wrinkling. Has a metal stand on the bottom. Rare. Highly collectible Antique Barrister bookcase from the reputable Shaw Walker company. Stackable 3 piece, glass fronts. I am not sure of the type of wood, either cherry or mahogany- this piece is from the early 1900's- it has been well preserved and taken care of. The front and sides have been painted with a black Ethan Allen paint to match the other furniture we have- the inside of each unit and the back has not been painted. The measurements are about 49 1/2 inches tall(stacked with the 3 pieces) 34 inches width, and the depth is 11 1/2 inches. The top has a small scratch in the paint that measures a few inches, but the wood is not scratched as far as I can see. For sale is a distinctive. Rare, solid oak antique bookcase. Period/style is uncertain- I suspect it is European but could also be American. Construction is solid oak, no veneer and is very well put together(good joinery) Its rather heavy for it's size. I am estimating that it's greater than 100 years or older. Regrettably I must sell because I just moved into a new place and it clashes with the decor. Known defects: there is a slight water stain on the top of the bookcase but it is barely noticeable and blends quite well with the patina on the unit(see photo) On the bottom-left. Late 19thC. Satinwood & MOP Inlaid Mahogany Bookcase Arched Doors & Paw Feet
This is an absolutely stunning piece of furniture in amazing condition for the age. This piece dates to the late 1800's. We do not know the maker of this piece or the origin. This bookcase stands 66 3/8" high and has a width at the top of 53.25" The width at the base is 55" The depth at the top is 15" and at the base it has a depth of 17" The main body of this where the books are held measures 51" w x 14" d x 57.75" h. The arched doors are flanked on the sides by 3/4 columns capped with ornate finnials. There are bands of string inlay decorating the fronts of the doors. There is a third finnial capped column between the two doors as well. Each column has beautiful designs made from satinwood and accented with mother of pearl inlay. This design is also seen above the doors. The sides have raised ... moretrim molding and the top has an inlaid stip around the front and side and dental inlaid molding beneath it. The base boasts stunning winged.Bracket paw feet. The back has bun feet. The inside has a depth of 12" and has four shelves. The original round pegs have been replaced with dowels. There are some losses to the trim molding on one side of this. There do not appear to be any losses to the inlaid areas. There is a small gap on the left side between the door and the center column. There are age and use associated surface scratches and dings. These are very minor and do not detract from the piece at all. There are losses to the wood below the finial on the right side column. This can be seen in the last picture. This is a stunning bookcase that was obviously well cared for. This is a previously owned item and it is being sold as shown. We are pleased to offer this beautiful antique barrister bookcase. This is made by the Globe Wernicke Company. There is a sticker on the back wall of two of the sections. that reads D10 1/4 299. The top section meausres 13" high to the glass door opening. The next two sections measure 10.5" to the top of the glass door opening and the bottom section measures 10.2" to the top with the glass door open. The assembled piece measures 61.25" high and has a width of 34" and an overall depth of 12" The depth of the main body is 11" This is the standard style with plain glass doors made from quarter sawn oak and oak veneers. This has the original brass hardware. There are some light age and use appropriate scratches and dings. There are paint specks on this. A gouge in the wood on one side and there is an area onthe ... moretop that the veneer is coming loose. There is a piece of sticky tape from a hook on the right side at the top of this. We will leave this fo rhte new owner to remove as we do not know if it will damage the finish or not. This can be seen slightly in the picture of the side view. The piece was made in the very early 1900's.Pieces produced before 1908 carry the name"Fred Macey Furniture CO" or simply"Macey" in italicscript with the tail of the"Y" underlining the word. At some point the piece has been painted beige but the wood under the paint appears to be in good shape. With a little work and a lot of love this would be a very defining top for a Macey sectional bookcase.

There are three shelves on the upper bookcase with original glass door. It has four drawers below the drop off desk. It is in excellent condition. Everything in its original state. There is one key for the bookcase. This has been in my mother's home for as long as I can remember. There are no labels on the back. Antique Globe Wernicke Lawyers Barrister Bookcase. 4 Sections Plus Top& Bottom Sections Circa 1898- 1910 There are 4 bookcase sections. The neat thing about this bookcase is that all labels are different. Look closely at the pictures. The bottom bookcase is manufactured by"MACEY" Grand Rapids Michigan. See picture. The top two cases are paper labels and both have GLOBE WERNICKE scissor door mechanisms. The third from top shows patent dates. See picture. This was called the"Wernicke System"Elastic" Bookcase. Two of the glass panes need to be replaced which I will have done before delivery. The top section has some paint on it. See picture. Otherwise this bookcase is in great condition.
