The secretary top measures 36" wide x 46" high x 10" deep and features beveled glass doors as well as two adjustable cherry wood shelves that are grooved for china display. The back is selected veneer. The top has gorgeous carving and a pretty finial. The secretary base measures 36.5" wide x 41" high x 19" deep and features five drawers and a drop front with lock with key. There are cubbies inside the desk base as well as two drawers. The drawers are very clean inside. This secretary was manufactured in January. 1980 and is in excellent condition overall with a few exceptions. There are light dings and one more noticeable ding on the front of the secretary where it drops down(see pics#10, 11) There are also a few tiny chips low on the front two feet and one chip on the very back side of the secretary top. It is not very noticeable when it is against the wall, unless you are looking at the back(see pic#12) The Ethan Allen name is stamped in the top drawer and the date as well as the item number are stamped on the back. Made in England, Circa 1960, Mahogany, All doors lock with key, Dovetailed drawers, Adjustable upper shelves, Satinwood string inlay, Minor wear to step back and feet, Sturdy. Good overall condition, This four door mahogany breakfront bookcase comes from England. The mahogany is accented with subtle satinwood string inlays on the lower doors and drawers. The astragal glazed doors at the top all lock. And each section of glass is an individual pane. This combined with the dovetailed drawers shows the high level of quality that went into the creation of this lovely bookcase. Originally made around 1960, the bookcase remains in very good condition today with minor wear around the feet and step back where the lower cabinet meets the upper cabinet. The wooden shelves in the upper cabinet are adjustable with a brass pigeon hole system. The entire bookcase comes apart into two pieces(top and bottom) to make it easier to move. The shelf depth in the upper cabinet is 10.75" Each drawer has a brass swan neck drop pull and opens and closes very easily. Finally, the top is finished off with a dentil moulded cornice. This wonderful bookcase is very sturdy and would make a beautiful addition to any home or office! As you can see there is a large amount of storage and display space. The shelves are adjusted with a brass pigeon hole system. The lower cabinet doors display a gorgeous flame mahogany grain. These are the pulls on the drawers. Each drawer is also constructed with dovetailed joints. A sign of quality craftsmanship. This close up of the step back shows some of the minor wear you will find in that area. The three adjustable shelves each measure 9” in depth and 41 ¼” in width. This is truly one of the most beautiful Victorian Secretaries of its kind that we have had the privilege to offer. You will notice that there is some faint writing on the back of the piece(see the e-Bay photo) that probably indicates either the maker or the person for whom the piece was made. From what we can see it is signed M. Hall, Hannibal, MO. The details on this Secretary are absolutely wonderful! This beautiful Secretary is constructed of mahogany. And flame mahogany over a secondary wood and the details are exquisite! Antique Rustic Pine Country Hutch Cabinet Bookcase circa late 1800s
A lovely Rustic Hutch Cabinet circa late 19th Century. It has three open upper shelves and a lower two door cabinet with two shelves which will provide you with plenty of storage or display space. Its upper shelves. Front and sides were stripped at some point in its lifetime, but the inside of the cabinet section is still painted and can be stripped to mimic the effect on the rest of the hutch. The hutch has age-apropriate wear and the back and top appear to have never been painted. There is some shrinkage between planks which actually add to its charm. The molding on the upper-left side is missing, but can be replaced by having a duplicate made of the other side. The bookcase has a serpentine crest, the doors with arched wavy glass panels. The interior has three adjustable yellow maple selves and maple back boards. Just below the bookcase are two drawers. The secretary case at top has a drop forward writing surface. Below are three long drawers with carved nuts and leaves grips. The drawer interiors are maple. It measures 7'11" 95" tall by 3'8" 44" wide 21" deep, the shelves 9-1/2" deep. The felt writing surface measures 36" by 10-3/4" Very good plus condition: original unworn finish, carvings complete. This antique lawyers bookcase is in beautiful condition. All glass and sliding mechanisms are intact and in working order. There are a few tiny speckles of paint on the top and on one side. look close at the pics and you will see them) but they are barely noticeable. I did not dare try to remove them for fear of damaging an otherwise gorgeous finish. The middle door knob is slightly bent, but again, is it worth it to try to straighten it?
